We stayed in Waikiki first few days then moved to Kahala Resort for a more secluded, slower paced experience and the resort delivered. We had an ocean front room and a dolphin lagoon room - both views unreal - so beautiful! I could watch the dolphins swim all day! Our rooms were 1240 and 1235 which were on lobby level right next to beach and pool. The poolside food and drink service was so convenient. We did the dolphin quest experience and it was totally worth it! The dolphins are so smart and gentle. The trainers who work with them while you are in water are top notch - they have great relationships with the dolphins. My only concerns were breakfast can take a while to be waited on and you should reserve tables - our first day even though we had breakfast credits we couldn’t use them because didn’t have reservation. So if you have to go on a tour after breakfast reserve table and give yourself an hour for breakfast. The other issue was room 1235 smelled musty. My teens didn’t care so we just informed the hotel when we checked out so they ca hopefully address it. All the employees at hotel were super friendly and went out of way to ensure hospitality. If you want a quieter luxury hotel experience this resort is a top choice.

Hotel's Favorite
I've been coming to the Kahala hotel since 1984. It hasn't changed and that is wonderful. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, especially the suites, but even the standard room is superior to almost all other hotels on Oahu. It's my favorite hotel on Oahu and one of the best in Hawaii. What's its best feature? The staff! Nowhere else, and I've stayed in hotels all over North America, are there people like those at the Kahala. Service is exemplary and everyone is gracious, friendly and personable. When the car valet remembers your name and you haven't been a guest in a year, it is exceptional. I could stay anywhere in the state when I want to relax but I choose the Kahala; it's an oasis of tranquility and their hospitality is unparalleled.

We are 2 couples (around 60ish)- stayed 4 nights here after 8 glorious days on Maui. This is a nice hotel- very friendly staff and excellent service (especially Diana at the pool). We just happened to be here over USA thanksgiving and this place was (as expected) full of families with many children- a great place for them but not so much for us- perhaps if we try again it will be not during a holiday period. Pool rather small for a resort this size, but ocean is lovely with more room to spread out, however no shade. Kahala is an upscale hotel situated in an upscale neighborhood about a 15 min Uber from the more active Waikiki. Will likely not return here- until of course my grandchildren arrive one day😊

Let me tell you, the aura of the hotel does not like me at all. This review is solely on the "Thanksgiving Masterpiece-to-go Dinner." This year we wanted to have a hassle and stress-free thanksgiving. Based on many recommendations and reviews, the Kahala Hotel's catering department is supposed to have one of the best Thanksgiving-to-go Dinners on the island. The cost for the to-go dinner came out to $471.20 w/ tax. This is double the price of any other "thanksgiving-to-go dinners" that are being promoted by other restaurants. However, upon arriving home, there was NO STUFFING! I call the catering department and spoke to "Sherri" and I explained to her that there was no stuffing in the order. She apologized and said, "Well I can refund you $28 for the stuffing you're missing." I told Sherri that we're actually going to have Thanksgiving dinner on the 25th and the food is in the fridge and will be reheated up the next day. Sherri tells me that she can't guarantee that we'll receive the stuffing in a timely manner nor will there be stuffing since there are over 300 orders on the day of thanksgiving. I tell her that this is inexcusable because I drove all the way from the west side of the island. I've paid double the price for a thanksgiving dinner that should have all the items. Sherri kept giving me apologies and excuses, probably hoping that I'll just take the $28 refund. Nonetheless, all I cared about was how they can make this right since this was a mistake made on their part. Sherri, then tells me that we could come in on the 25th and pick up the missing stuffing. But, it could be more than a 2 hour wait time and it probably isn't worth your time to wait for the stuffing. This is wrong by all means because she's expecting me to use my TIME, GAS, AND EFFORT to wait for the missing item in the order. If you're looking to make an order through the Kahala, my best advice is for you to double-check and see that you have everything. Unfortunately, I would have to go back to the Kahala and probably wait for over 2 hours just for a side of stuffing. This is not stress-free at all. For the money spent, you'd expect the catering team to go above and beyond. This was not it at all.

Picturesque hotel with on site amenities, excellent service, and a beautiful peaceful beach. If you want a hotel in Oahu that’s quieter than the nice but often crowded Waikiki Beach with excellent restaurants on site and friendly staff who always exceed expectations this is your place. :)
