We loved staying at Hotel Viking! The property was beautiful. Front desk was efficient and super helpful in terms of recommending attractions and restaurants. Fabulous walking location. We especially appreciated the large, clean pool and hot tub as well as the fitness room, which included two Peleton bikes. We would definitely stay at Hotel Viking next time we are in town.

Hotel's Favorite
My wife and I decided to take a quick trip to Newport when we saw that the weather would be nice over the Presidents Day weekend. The Hotel Viking is always a dependable option. We decided to book a king suite room. The room was well appointed, modern but traditional and charming. Having the living room allowed us to put our son to bed and for us to stay up a bit longer. The service at the Hotel Viking is always spectacular and attentive. The renovations were unobtrusive. We shall definitely return.

The best thing about this place was the check in process which was quick. After we got to our room which seemed like a half mile walk we noticed that the floors were ice cold. The bathroom, or bathrooms I should say are extremely small. Smaller then a closet. Top it off there is a $35.00 resort fee for the "Complimentary bottled water". Are you kidding me. There was also a lot of noise while sleeping and they don't seem to do anything about that either. Other establishments have zero tolerance for that, but it doesn't seem like they do We also went to breakfast this morning and the service was so bad. She did not listen to a word we said and the entire breakfast order was wrong. Then they want to charge you $40.00 to valet park. We will absolutely not be staying here again. The entire stay was terrible.

The room, a suite, did not match with pictures. It was smaller and did not have a door separating the bedroom from the sitting area. If the pull-out bed was open, it would be difficult to exit the room. There was mold in the shower. Although there was three of us, they only had towels for 2. The Spo treatments and staff were wonderful. I have wanted to stay here for so long but was really disappointed. Radu was one high point of our stay. He was at the front desk and was always friendly, accomodating and tried to do everything we asked for. Hi is an asset the the hotel.
