What should have been a highlihght of our recent trip to the Rhode Island was just disapointing. The property itself is full of character and if the owners had taste and style they could do something amazing with it. Checking in was the highlight of the stay and the reception staff are great. That's where it ends... The rooms are... More

Spent this past weekend there. My second time and not my last. This is the quintessential boutique hotel.Tremendous staff. First rate customer service. My room was beautiful: unique, large and smartly decorated. The roof deck is a showstopper: One of only two in downtown Newport that I know of...Great view of the harbor and downtown. Just spectacular. Yes: the hotel... More

Fantastic location, gorgeous garden, wonderful service. The service was fantastic. The staff remembered my son's name and went out of their way engage him in conversation about his day. It made the experience feel like home. Hallways were dingy, elevator was slow. Our bathtub drain didn't drain and it wasn't fixed two days after we told the front desk. You... More

This "bar" absolutely has the best views of Newport Harbor. We stopped in for a cocktail. The rooftop was not opened but we got a drink in the lounge and brought it up to the roof. Unbelievable views. Last year we also did restaurant week here for lunch. Fabulous. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Staff is excellent.

Tucked away on quiet Mary Street - in between Thames Street and Belleveue Avenue - this elegant hotel still feels like a private home...albeit a very wealthy one. The arrival experience was quiet and efficient with friendly staff. My room (205) was very spacious and stylish. Open plan with a large bookcase dividing the bedroom from the sitting area, with... My wife and I recently made a trip to Newport and the surrounding area, electing to spend our two nights within Newport itself at the Vanderbilt Grace. I'd wanted to stay in this hotel for some time, so we planned much of our trip around the best room we could get during our vacation. About 9 hours after we made... More

Wow. From the moment we walked into the hotel, we were greeted with the most fabulous service and amenities. The small details, like the cookies at bedtime, sparkling water and fiction library in the suite, made this one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. We had a Captain Loft Suite, which was huge, well laid out and very comfortable.... More

We were greeted with great friendliness and every member of staff seemed to learn our names immediately - most impressive. Our room was extremely comfortable with a view of the Conservatory and pool area. It was extremely comfortable and well-furnished with chairs and a desk as well as an excellent and spotlessly clean bathroom. It was unfortunate that we were... More

We are one week into our two week stay and can happily report our liking of this for star 🌟 boutique hotel. Apart from some misunderstanding from time to time, we receive excellent service and full attention from top management to all staff. The property is charming yet a bit run down here and there. Perfectly located to access all... More

My son and I went to The Vanderbilt Grace for English Tea this weekend. Previously I had done some research in reviews for English Tea in Rhode Island. It was even better than I expected. The Grace blend was the best tea I have ever had. The tea sandwiches, scones, cookies and other desserts were very good. The service was... More
