Gorgeous, elegant hotel with warm and welcomig staff. Lovely pool for lap swimming. Beautiful breakfast solarium. Service was so friendly and efficient. We really enjoyed our stay in downtown Newport.
Enjoyed a long weekend at the Vanderbilt...discovered a charming hotel tucked away on a quiet street close to the main street...with a warm and friendly staff--Morgan the Concierge, Smehil the Server, and Zach the Food/Beverage Manager--being outstanding! The room was comfortable and clean and the food delicious. A remarkable stay...and plan to return in warmer wether.
The property is beautiful, understated luxury and warmth. Everyone on the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, including our dog! The food and drinks were delicious, can't wait to go back.
This Mansion was charming and decor welcoming. Staff were outstanding in professionalism and friendly too! It is situated where it is walkable to shopping, dining, waterfront! Rooms were clean and well appointed.
Very overrated! Our stay was not pleasant at all! The room that we paid a premium for ($1000/night with taxes) was very dusty and smelled the same as the lobby, I have sever allergy to dust and my sinus got inflamed and got horrible headache and lost my voice! There was no hand soap in the bathroom upon arrival! Waitress at breakfast was very rude and when I asked her for toast for my daughter didn’t acknowledge me and when I asked again she replied with a very rude tone that she heard me first time!! Very unpleasant experience and front desk was using the age of the building as excuse for dust in the room! Unacceptable! Won’t be staying here again for sure! Saied, our valet was super pleasant though!
we felt like we were guests in the home of wonderful friends. So cozy and chic and also fun. My neice and I do a trip overnight every couple of months and we were upgraded to a one bedroom suite with a working fireplace. We loved the indoor pool and the dining room too. One night after a dinner out at a restaurant the Concierge, Morgan, arranged for us, we returned with some treats and played CLUE in the Conservatory and ordered te and hot chocolate. Can't wait to go back. Staff were amazing.
If you are looking for a perfect location at a 5 star property, look no further. We are repeat customers at this property and we are grateful for the personalized service. You will also enjoy the craft cocktails in the newly refurbished bar. The atrium is always peasant for breakfast and the food is very good.
It's been far too long since I was made to feel special at a hotel. The staff at The Vanderbilt in Newport RI was exceptional. So professional and lovely. Really went out of their way to upgrade our overall experience. Literally every staff member was awesome. Then there is the hotel.... a step back in luxurious time. Awesome location on a quiet street sits a former home of Alfred Vanderbilt's.... mistress! And you get to pretend it's all yours during your stay. Very special experience.
We've been here several times but this was the first time since the renovation. This hotel was so beautifully renovated! The colors of the rooms are warm and comfortable. Everything was clean and spacious. Really beautiful. The staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. We ate dinner in the dining room which was delicious and breakfast in the garden room which was also spot on. We were so happy to see Elena at the desk - she always makes sure that everything is perfect for us. She is absolutely wonderful! This place is expensive, but worth every penny.
Among the best guest experience coming from a world traveler. The entire staff, from drive up to leaving as if we were leaving family. They were so accommodating, even as we changed itineraries daily and sometimes hourly.
