We recently stayed at this property as part of a holiday in Newport. The hotel is a historic property, is well maintained and is walkable to town and the main restaurants. The location is at the beginning of the Cliff Walk and was quiet and safe. Choose your room carefully because there are access stairs involved, a variety of shapes and sizes and, of course, different aspects.

Highly recommend for a couples getaway! Beautiful mansion located on the famous Cliff Walk with stunning ocean views. Sit in one of the Adirondack chairs on the expansive lawn overlooking the ocean with a drink in hand or enjoy the Italian Wine garden. The famous Cliff Walk begins at the foot of the hotel where you can take a beautiful 7 mile out and back stroll pass the historical mansions of Newport. Dine in the five star restaurant, Cara or sit in the stunning dark wood paneled lounge. The front desk staff and housekeeping is top notch! We will be back!

Another fantastic stay. We lucked out and managed to get an Ocean Villa for a last minute weekend getaway. The staff was as professional as always. We were greeted promptly upon driving in (shout out to Clayton for always remembering us) and our bags were delivered to our room while we were checking in. Front desk staff is professional and friendly and always willing to lend a hand or offer assistance. They made note of our restaurant reservations and had the driver ready to take us (shout to Craig for getting us to and picking us from the restaurants always with a smile). This is only place we stay whenever we visit Newport. You won't regret it.

The Chanler never disappoints. Every aspect to make our stay carefree and memorable was met by the professional, courteous staff. The Nantucket villa is a wonderful experience with ocean view from the deck, steam sauna and privacy. A relaxing, carefree experience in beautiful surroundings.

A wonderful experience for first time visitors to Newport. Very attentive staff from the moment we arrived. There is a special attention to detail. I would recommend the property to anyone considering a trip to this part of Rhode Island.

Our lovely stay at The gorgeous Chandler at Cliff Walk was such a wonderful experience. The location was perfect! Having the Ocean in our backyard was incredible. We can’t say enough about how lovely the Chandler is. The staff was so kind and friendly. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay memorable. We would love to return again.
