Fantastic location, comfortable everything, and unforgettable breakfasts with great hospitality from Phil. Would stay again! I loved that we were walking distance from the mansions, and that we could come home to sit in the courtyard in the sun with a glass of wine.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Artful Lodger. We wished we could have stayed longer. We had one of the smaller rooms, but a private bath which was great for our one night stay. The innkeeper, Phil, offered to upgrade the room at no extra charge, but our room was bright and cheery so we stayed in it. Phil...

Really enjoyed my stay here. The house is very interesting, lots to see and explore. We had a great room, king sized bed, sleeper couch, fireplace and Jacuzzi. Quiet, had a great night's sleep. Breakfast the next morning on the third floor could not have been better, with a stunning view of the harbor as we had some great Belgian...

A beautiful inn, in a wonderful location. Walkable to downtown and to the mansions and Tennis Hall of Fame, as well as some great restaurants. The view from the 3rd floor dining room is stunning...and breakfast itself was delicious. Phil was so friendly and helpful...and makes the best biscotti I've ever had! Couldn't stop eating them! Definitely going back.

The Inn is a beautiful place in a beautiful location. It was not very busy on Easter Sunday night, so our gracious host Phil upgraded us to a suite. It was a large beautifully decorated room with a king bed, an extra futon, a little sitting area with chairs, and a jacuzzi tub. Absolutely gorgeous and cozy. The next morning,...

We planned a last minute trip to Newport and stumbled upon the Artful Lodger and are glad we did. We stayed in a suite on the second floor and it was huge and very comfortable. Phil made a great breakfast to order in the morning for each each guest along with terrific homemade muffins. We will be back

A really fantastic hotel perfectly positioned to explore Newport centre and it's historic sights. Phil offers a warm welcome and large, well equipped rooms. But by far the hotels biggest attraction is all the little details and extras that made our stay special. Phil is also a mine of local knowledge and was a real help in guiding us to...

We had a king bedroom on the first floor. It was comfortable. The breakfast varied from eggs to waffles and French toast. There was a great view of Newport from the breakfast room. The host was helpful in planning our tours of the mansions. The Elms is very near, within an easy walk. He suggested we start there and we...

My husband and I stayed at the Artful Lodger for two nights in Victoria's Room. It was exactly what we needed - the bed was comfortable, the room was private despite being on the first floor, and it the location was perfect to walking all over downtown. Phil cooked two tremendous breakfasts on the mornings we were there and the...
