The Jailhouse Inn has a great location for walking in downtown Newport. They have a small parking lot with free parking for guests (one car per room) which was great! The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. They let us leave our car while we got lunch and check in early so we could get ready for a 4pm...

Stayed one night at this quaint B&B. Friendly front desk staff which is staffed 24 hours a day. They were helpful in recommending pubs, restaurants, and shopping. Room was nicely decorated. Only complaint is the bed mattress is firm (hard) which may not fit everyone preference. The B&B is across the street from Newport's oldest pub - the White Horse...

Hotel was in an excellent location a short walk from the harbor with its many restaurants and shops. Converted from the jailhouse it is a very affordable option. The is a parking space for each room. Would certainly stay here again.

Selected this place based upon location and reviews. It turned out to be a good decision. It was walking distance to the harbor with shopping and restaurants. The rooms were nicely done and clean. Included a small frig. Breakfast was continental but good. There is hotel parking in this densely populated area. Off season rates made it very affordable. I...

While we found our room adequate and the bed quite comfy, the noise from the street was irksome. Passersby could be heard laughing and conversing well into the night, trucks and busses began around 6AM, but it was the road crew who were replacing sidewalks, jackhammering and paving the street right outside our window around 7AM that really took the...

The nifty old historic Jail is comfortable but loud. The building is interesting (in active use as a police station in the 80s), and we liked the historic nature and quirkiness. We stayed in a downstairs room, close to the desk and across from the sitting/breakfast room. While the room was comfy - clean, well made, very comfortable beds (!)...

Staff at checkin were OK, not particularly friendly, the room we got was four floors up without a lift because it is an old historic building. The room was a suite with dorma Windows both sides, it was clean, very comfortable and charming. The breakfast was basic but adequate. The location is about two blocks from the water and main...

quirky old fashioned hotel, good location and excellent breakfast included but let down by the noisey air conditioning, slamming doors and dirty windows and worst of all the loud plumbing noise everytime anyone else had a shower.perhaps it was just the room in which case avoid no 6.I think it needs a bit of work to bring it up to scratch.

We stayed in the "Solitary Confinement" room which was nice and tucked out of the way downstairs. The room was comfortable, but the television didn't work. We didn't much care about that anyhow. The room was clean and the bedding comfortable. It's neat to stay in a place that was an active police station just back in the 1980's. The...

Stayed with my wife for a weekend getaway. Great property. Very interesting with all of the old bars from the jail inside. It is a short walk to the strip where everything is going on. Will stay there again!
