My girlfriend and I stayed 2 nights in the Tower room. The room and amenities, especially the breads and breakfast options, were great and the staff was fantastic and accommodating. It’s an easy drive to downtown Newport and you can access the Cliff Walk to the Breakers by walking down the road. We’ll definitely be returning.
We recently stayed over night in the Grovensors Suite. A beautiful room! Just as lovely as the photos. The room was wonderfully clean. In the times we are living that is so important. The inn is beautifully appointed. Lovely gardens and fire pit. The takeaway breakfast was just perfect. The inn was not crowded while we were their so we were able to enjoy our breakfast on the front porch. Just about a block to the Cliff walk, and beautiful views. We are walkers so for us it was a wonderful location. The staff was wonderful and attentive. We loved being away from the downtown area is a lovely quiet area. We would highly recommend and look forward to going back to this inn again
After looking around quite a bit, my fiancé and I chose the Cliffside Inn and their elopement package. We were not disappointed! Our ceremony and entire stay were amazing, wonderful, special and memorable. Josh took care of all the details and was such a pleasure to work with. The whole staff is friendly and accommodating and our room, St. Georges' Suite, was absolutely lovely (and clean). We will be back for sure!
Wonderful stay in the Tower Suite. Beautiful view and comfortable bed. Extended breakfast selection despite COVID safety precautions...everything was safely contained and able to easily be taken to a distanced location on the beautiful property. Having the Cliff Walk a block down the street was an added bonus and we enjoyed it both mornings we stayed. Delightful stay at a beautiful place with beautiful staff!
The Cliffside Inn is an immaculate, well maintained 1870's Bed & Breakfast in beautiful Newport, not far from downtown. My husband and I spent Easter weekend in the luxurious Victorian room on the first floor. We were welcomed by a very pleasant host, who offered us lots of ideas for restaurants and things to do in Newport. The spotless, newly renovated bathroom was spacious, with lots of room for all our toiletries. We enjoyed the gas fireplace in the room. Breakfast was excellent; it was served buffet style-- everything was individually packaged (in this age of Covid), from eggs to French toast to muffins to fresh fruit to yogurt parfaits to oatmeal and more. Great selection and plenty to eat. The Inn fell short of five stars, in my opinion, because of the following: Although spacious, the room was a bit awkward with nowhere to use a laptop (no table or desk). The only plug near the bed was behind the bed (which was too heavy to move); the bedside lamps were plugged into the 2 sockets-- there was nowhere to easily plug in my CPAP machine, cellphones, or other electronics by the bed. An easy solution here (besides traveling with a power strip/extension cord), is for the Inn to replace the bedside lamps with lamps that have sockets and USB outlets in them, or supply a power strip. Since there was no clock in the room, we had to rely on our cellphones which were plugged in across the room from our bed; not very convenient when you wake up in the middle of the night looking for the time. Also, take note that this room does not have a mini fridge, but if you have a cooler, there is plenty of ice in the ice machine. There was no hand sanitizer at all anywhere in the Inn, so be sure to bring your own.…
