Dynamic and breathtaking, Castle Hill Inn promises an exclusive, luxury experience for each guest who visits. The property's 40 acres offer everything from panoramic water views, and rustic hiking trails to private beaches and hidden rocky coves. In summer, guests come to unwind and enjoy the Newport social scene that gathers on the Lawn, which slopes from an elegantly restored 19th-century mansion out to Narragansett Bay. During cooler months, Castle Hill becomes more of a private retreat, perfect for escapes from city life but still close to the amenities of downtown Newport. Year round, the property also boasts world-class dining that showcases the best of Rhode Island's seasonal bounty, Castle Hill's extraordinary setting only becomes more beautiful with each turn of season, and we do our best to match its brilliance with unmatched service for our guests. Overall stay was positive. The Beach house offered a casual and cozy atmosphere. Pro: Nice tub Access to bay Complimentary afternoon tea and gourmet breakfast daily Gas Fireplace Large refrigerator Con: Not sure if the bay is private or public but non-guests do walk across the bay pass the beach houses to access the rocks for fishing. I didn't mind it but if I'm paying $1k/night I prefer not to see this No weather mats at the front door or deck door. It was rainy during my stay and our floors got very wet/dirty/sandy/slippery coming in and out If you have neighbors it may not feel so private anymore. You can see directly into eachother's beds from outside if your shades are up. Again, the Beach House was very nice but for the price I feel they can make your stay feel a little more luxurious and special.

Good afternoon Danem930, Thank you for choosing Castle Hill Inn to host your recent Newport visit! We are delighted that you enjoyed your Beach House room accommodations; the views of our Private Beach and the Atlantic Ocean are truly spectacular! It certainly is a wonderful amenity to be just footsteps away from our Private Beach! Thank you for your suggestions of adding weather mats at the front door and the doors opening to the semi-private deck; we will look into the opportunity to implement this. We look forward to hosting your next visit!

I felt like a mariner who landed on the shore of an uncharted paradise. The beach cottage was peacefully sublime and the quality of the food and beverage services were among the best I've ever experienced anywhere. We were blessed with spectacular October weather and I never really wanted to leave the property. It is not inexpensive but it's one of the few places I've stayed which justified the premium price tag.

We are a well travelled couple in our mid 50's and stayed in the premium beach cottage for 9 nights. We had planned to visit Maine, but coming from Florida we would have had to take yet another Covid test so opted to just stay at Castle Hill Inn longer - people thought we would be bored there 9 days....NOT SO!! It was one of the most romantic, relaxing and charming hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying! I have dreamed of sitting in those adirondack chairs while drinking a glass of champagne forever and the wait was worthy!! I have never seen so many amazing sailboats as we did sitting in those chairs!! We had dinner at The Lawn three nights and each time it was fantastic. The Terrace Bar and formal dining room are closed due to Covid and while it was disappointing it certainly did not impact our stay. I cannot emphasize enough how spectacular the view from our beach cottage was - every single morning we drank our coffee there and every single night at sunset we had a cocktail. The beach was just steps from our deck. We watched two weddings and a proposal from our deck!! There is a mini fridge, microwave and sink in the cottages so we went into town and bought some light food and drinks for our stay. They deliver breakfast and tea service every day through room service since the main dining room is closed. Coming from Florida we were cold at night and would come back after dinner and use the fireplace. Cookies are on your bed after the morning cleaning and chocolates at turndown. Slippers and robes are provided. The reason I cannot give five stars is the staff - while working very hard - seemed overwhelmed and not able to give 100% quality service. Room service orders had something wrong almost every time. We had ordered a bottle of champagne to be sent to a couple we knew having lunch on their honeymoon and they ended up delivering the bottle of champagne to our room at dinner with the card I wrote to the couple????!!!!! I was so disappointed. They dropped the ball on that big time. My husband and I are pretty easy going but when you spend over $1,000 a night small things like that just shouldn't happen. We even said after going to the front desk to order the bottle and set it up that we knew it wouldn't get delivered. We are chalking it all up to the Covid situation and not being staffed properly. We did all the Newport tourist activities and nothing disappointed. The Safari Room at Ocean Cliff down the street is highly recommended for view and atmosphere. The guests at the hotel were our age and older or honeymooners. The few small children we encountered were not well received by people sitting around them. We usually don't visit the same place twice as have too many places on our bucket list - but, upon leaving my husband and I both agreed this is the first place we would visit again, once the terrace bar and dining room reopen. If you are considering Castle Hill Inn just book it!! You will not be disappointed!! If you want a cottage book way, way, way in advance!!! Cheers!

Years ago I drove by your resort and told myself “one day”. I always wondered what it would be like to stay in one of the cottages that I drove by. Well for my wedding anniversary that opportunity arrived. When we first arrived we were greeted by a lovely warm welcoming young man. As we walked up to our cottage (25) I felt like a kid again! I let out a loud yell of “no way”! I opened the door and I honestly had tears in my eyes as it all just took my breath away. The room was IMPECCABLE. Incredibly clean. The overall look of the room including the view and sleeping to the sound of the ocean was a dream. The staff was helpful whenever needed. Room service each time was perfect. Breakfast in bed was wonderful and the food itself was delicious. I wish we could have stayed longer. We actually stayed at Gurney’s the night before and to be honest, it was a huge disappointment. Castle Inn saved our anniversary trip. I will FOREVER remember this experience and hope that I am able to visit again in the near future. An incredible experience that exceeded all expeditions from what I dreamed it would be.

My husband and I got married at Castle Hill Inn and got ready in/spent our wedding night in one of the beach cottages. Castle Hill is one of the most beautiful properties I've ever stayed in. The cottages look out onto one of the prettiest views in New England. The staff is amazing and the rooms are incredibly comfortable. We will be back! If you're looking for a luxurious getaway, consider renting one of the cottages as they are gorgeous and really make it feel like a secluded escape.
