    Not worth the price
Overall okay, probably wouldn’t come here again. We came for our honeymoon, it was very expensive but we were okay with that price if the service was good ...but it wasn’t. Upon check in, the front desk didn’t even give us a welcome or description of the hotel (amenities etc). She just said, “you heard what I said to the other guests right?” Which to be fair we did. The rooms are nice, we had the king suite which had amazing views and the fireplace & bathroom was great. Although we were given a downgraded room from what we actually booked (less square feet, reduced view). We requested no housekeeping because of COVID but they still came into our room to give us a honeymoon gift (which was really nice) so just bring extra cleaning supplies. The main cons: The service at the restaurant was very poor, takes forever to even get a glass of water and it’s extremely overpriced. You could get better food within 5 mins of walking distance. We ordered room service which came 1.5 hours later and they forgot half our items. The hotel is very eco friendly which is a great but it really means you can’t get any ice or water there, so if you are coming bring your own bottled waters. We kept asking for water and they acted like we were crazy. They include bicycles which was awesome to bike to see the cliffs (totally recommend) but they don’t have any baskets (apparently they broke last year and never replaced them?) so bring a book bag for extra water etc. The main pros: really it’s the location, you are within walking distance of everywhere you want to be. The views are amazing even if they aren’t completely what you booked. Rooms are clean, tub was great & bed was really comfortable. The service isn’t great but they most likely are unstaffed due to COVID, they are clearly working hard and anyone who is working a service industry job during a global pandemic we really appreciate.

Nice hotel with great location and views
We booked this hotel through their site, so i'll start with what we didn't like. Upon checking in they acted like we used a third party site every time we called to see about upgrading our room and when we checked in. We said repeatedly we had not used a third party like expedia, etc we booked through the hotel. Our room was incredibly small and most likely the smallest in the hotel. We were there a week and were told they were full but never saw anyone else for the first three days of our stay over the holiday! I think they couldn't stop thinking we were a third party and wouldn't help us get a nicer larger room. It did have a fireplace which was a nice touch. The bathroom was a nice size but the room felt like a tiny cave with a small sliver of a window. The bathrooms need two bath mats as during winter it was super cold to have one mat for the shower and nothing over by the sink. There is no small built-in magnifying mirror on the wall or handheld under the sink like most hotels of this class and price range. Those are easy fixes that I hope they can sort out. The view of the parking lot is helped by the nice church and street buildings you can also see from the front of the hotel rooms. The staff was very nice and helpful, from the hostess, waitresses, bartenders, and hotel staff. All were helpful and easy to deal with during our stay. The grounds in the back by the water are lovely to have a walk even in winter and i imagine a wonderful place for food and drink in the summer. We enjoyed the fireplaces and excellent tomato soup and charcuterie plates. We loved the pool room that we enjoyed a few times with a nice fire and a lovely comfy room to play pool. There are nice restaurants very close to the hotel as well. It's an easy walk to parts of Bellevue Ave or up and down Thames for shopping and restaurants. This is a nice hotel with a lot of nice touches and a very well trained lovely staff.

    Great location, great accommodations.
We really enjoyed our stay at Forty 1 North. The front desk personnel were incredibly welcoming and kind. The room was immaculately clean. Our only two critical pieces of feedback were: 1 - no direct access to an ice machine. Small thing maybe but quite key in any hotel stay. 2 - towel sizes. We're 100% environmentally conscious and happy to re-use our towels during our stay but the provided bath/shower towels were barely big enough to wrap around mine or my wife's waist (36" and 30", respectively) and just reached our knees. Overall, we'd highly recommend the hotel and city.

Under staffed and over priced Most bars are closed. Valet took 30 minutes to bring up luggage Duvet had blood on it and front desk first gave me attitude to fix it and then claimed I never spoke to them. Finally had it corrected

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Great view of harbor from our sliding door. The room was very clean and inviting. Loved the back sprayer on in the shower. The hotel is perfectly located within walking distance of most landmarks on Thames St.

First class experience at Forty 1 North. Premium room with water view was spacious with notably fine decor. Carpet new. Bed and pillows very fine. Location is perfect for town and local beaches. The shuttle service and easy in/out valet parking were appreciated. Intermittent fine homemade treats with turn-down were delicious. Marina side outdoor deck restaurant with well-appointed seating and spacious adjacent sitting areas for hotel guests added to the relaxed and luxurious overall feel of the place.

Everything and Everyone absolutely was First class. It was my first time traveling by myself in my entire 69 years of age and I couldn’t have been more happier. It was even better than home away from home. The friendliness of the wonderful staff and trying to do whatever to make me happy was incredible. Good food , drinks and beautiful atmosphere and comfortable room was nothing I ever experienced before. I’m definitely going back and taking my family with me.

Lovely hotel, incredible location, staff could not have been more corgial or helpful, room was roomy, comfy and well appointed. We especially liked John, the bartender behind the big interior circular bar, but all of the staff were courteous and helpful.

I celebrated my proposal with my fiancée here and we loved it. They helped us to celebrate our happy occasion in a great way, especially with a bottle of champagne. The fireplaces in the room are a great touch as well.

Recently attended a 50th surprise birthday celebration here. The food, the atmosphere, and the service couldn't have been better. 2 of my children have severe allergies, and the chef graciously reviewed the menu with me at the beginning of the event so we knew exactly which foods were safe for them to eat. It was a night to remember!

Forty1North is our absolute favorite place to be in Newport, RI. The atmosphere, food, cocktails and overall experience are second to none. We have been going to Newport for many years (before and after kids and before we came by boat) and still find ourselves back at 41N every time we visit. There is no better place to watch the sunset, no better place for a crisp glass of white wine and a light lunch, and no better place to dock your boat for a night or two and enjoy the amenities of this gorgeous resort. Kudos to the team that runs the marina - they always remember us and make us feel like family when we return. We love you 41N!

My wife and I had a wonderful time at this luxurious, yet chill hotel. One thing I think Forty 1° should advertise more on their website is the sunset! My goodness, we had a front row seat from our balcony each and every night. So romantic and beautiful! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel restaurant, The Grill, was a delight. The fact that they accept pets is a huge plus, too. We took our 17 year old cock-a-poo and she loved it. Only drawback is there is not a place on the hotel grounds to walk your dog, unless your dog can take care of business on astroturf. It's a five minute walk to the nearest grass strip, so plan accordingly! :) Thanks to the staff for the wonderful time in Newport!
