We attended an event at the Greenhouse Room. It was an exceptional experience. The hotel staff were plentiful and they provided excellent service. They had multiple stations for snacks and desserts . They had a Buffalo and Mexican station for the food. Everything was excellent. I hope we get to go back.
We stayed here on January 20th for one night. The hotel was gorgeous. The only thing lacking is hot coffee in the lobby. The hotel has many restored pieces and architecture which made it very interesting to walk around. The Staff were AMAZING! All staff were helpful at the Front Desk. The Cleaning Staff were also friendly.
Gorgeous "old time" hotel restored. I lived there for most of my life, but moved 10 years ago. Came back for friend's wedding, and the place could not have been more beautiful. Rooms are fully modern and up to date. Bathroom is spacious and private. Bar(s) have a great set up with plenty of space. Only issue with anything is parking. Nothing is super close, so if you have a bunch of stuff it can be tedious to transport. However, there are lots close enough, and fairly cheap for overnight parking. (I mean...it's Buffalo. Compared to hotels or anything elsewhere in States, it's fairly cheap).
In walking distance to the rink and Pearl Street brewery. You can jump on transit if you don't want to walk. Always love our room - spacious. Amazing service a great beautiful bar with amazing woodwork. Just love it there.
I'm gonna keep this as short as I can. Read through the reviews. I failed to do this and I was blinded by the pretty pictures of the Junior King Suite. Public hair on the toilet seat, dust on the shelf so thick I could write my name, soda stains on furniture, half-empty toiletry bottles, a mushy bed, dingy carpet, and furniture with lint all over it. Movie was being filmed in the lobby which makes you have to walk around the back side to enter your room. The room was dirty like it had not been cleaned for 6 months. Limited staff, one lady who was the manager was working there with a small baby about 3 months old. The child was crying . A big disappointment since I was here for a history conference I wanted to stay in a historical hotel. This place has potential but the staff is neglecting the building. Beautiful architecture but a dirty and unkempty building.…
I was looking forward to a pool and a lobby to sit in. You should have warned your guests that the lobby was not usable. And the people shooting the movie told me to be quiet as I was checking in (I was only answering questions the front desk was asking me.)
Restored approx 10 years ago. Lots of architectural detail. Room was clean. Cute coffee shop in the lobby. Piano bar & brewery open Wed-Sun. Fireplace didn't work in the room but everything else was operational. Shower was fantastic. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend. Priced really well for downtown location!
I stayed at this property at the onset of a Erie Canal Trail bicycling tour arriving via Amtrak and cycling west towards Albany. The Lafayette is a nice turn-of-the-century motel undergoing renovation. It's location is great for those wanting a central Buffalo stay since it's convenient to the Exchange Street Amtrak station and, for cyclists, close to the Erie Canal Trailhead. They are cycling friendly and I was able to keep my bicycle in my room (elevators!). My room was recently renovated and had all of the amenities expected in a modern hotel. I don't know what the occupancy rate was the day I checked in, but the place was nicely quiet. The only issue I had was that the independently owned coffee shop within the complex did not open until 8 AM. Luckily, there's a Tim Horton's jus a block away.…
No housekeeping, not secured, no soap etc! Bed is mushy!!! Our room is dusty everywhere!!! Smelly in the hallway, I think they have to close this property!!! Not a good location, homeless are everywhere.
The entrance was filthy the lobby smelled, I was warned by the desk person to watch where I walked as there was feces on the floor (there was). The elevator looked like something off of CSI. The room was dirty, the refrigerator smelled, the counters were filthy and the toilet was ...not clean. Furthermore the room looked out on a makeshift terrace in an interior airway. When I opened the curtain I was looking at the feet of a large family eating, and they looked at me like i was disturbing them. I went down to the desk asked to be moved for the aforesaid reasons and they told me they had no clean rooms, I asked for the manager and was told that there was none on duty. I complained to expedia twice electronically with no response and to Wyndham Hotels who told me that they would investigate and get back to me. Lest you disbelieve, I have pictures, luckily the stench was not captured.…
