This hotel is beautiful and in thee core of downtown Buffalo. You can walk pretty much anywhere you need to go. But if you don’t want to leave the hotel there is lots to do within the hotel including the piano bar and attached pub.

I obviously saw pictures of the hotel/room online when booking but it was way cuter in person. Room was quite large as was the bathroom. Hotel hallways were super wide as well which I think helped keep noise down.

This is a beautiful historical hotel, fantastic rooms. And great coffee adjacent, and craft beer on the other side if you like. Great place for people like something different, not a “same old” chain. Great character!

We paid a bit extra for the king room and it was definitely worth it. The room was amazing and huge. The mattress was so comfortable, the shower was great. I am very picky with hotel rooms and really loved this place and would easily go back here if in Buffalo overnight again.

I love coming to this hotel as much as I can. The staff is extremely friendly and the bartenders are awesome. Would recommend to anyone. The rooms are spotless, the decor is awesome!!! Thinking about having my wedding reception here, if possible?

Location, cleanliness, and so full of history and charm. Renovations are very well done. I would suggest an upgrade in mattress or mattress pad as bed was stiff. All employees were very attentive and helpful, great meals at the brewery and cafe'.

So my husband and I decided to have a night away from the kids and book an overnight getaway here. We were very impressed walking into the room. It was tastefully decorated and we really loved the fireplace. The bed looked very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. Now comes the part where our evening changed…..upon going to bed, I got under the sheets and tried to get comfortable. Suddenly I felt something sharp scratch my toe. I abruptly got up and pulled the sheets back. To my horror I found a toenail clipping😳. I, of course, was completely disgusted and I made my husband push it off the bed onto the floor. Because it was so late and we were both exhausted, we decided to stay the night and sleep on top of the comforter. I didn’t sleep much at all that night, obviously. The next morning at checkout we told the employee behind the front desk what happened. His reaction was of disgust and said I’m sorry that happened. That.Was.It. He then told us have a good day 😳 So to sum this up, my family travels often and I’ve never been so grossed out and then shocked at how it was handled. I even proceeded to write the hotel and email telling them what had happened. I sent it two weeks ago and still no response. It pains me to write a review like this about a beautiful historic hotel in the city I love. I just feel travelers should be aware, as well as management. Disappointed in an understatement.

The selling point of this hotel is its architecture. However, the furnishings in the lobby and the guest rooms are totally out of keeping with the splendid architecture of the building. Also, the HVAC was noisy and the pillows too plump, so I did not get a good night's rest. The room was large and quiet and the bathroom well appointed and clean.

Noisy room with no view and no amenities facing a rooftop outdoor area for wedding guests to smoke and talk all night while we were trying to sleep. Despite having booked two months in advance and requested a quiet room far from noisy elevators, ice machines and other guests, our room was on the noisiest hallway leading to the wedding hall. We heard drunk guests for three nights in a row running up and down the hall. We asked if there was a room away from all that and were told it was all they had. The event guests checked out each morning and yet they couldn’t switch us for three nights in a row.

Junior suite very nice with an electronic fireplace for added ambiance. Fine selection of cable channels. Nice knickknacks as well gives it a unique touch. No vending-can get sodas from the front desk and charge to room as they do not take cash. The parking garage is just a block away. They do not have mini fridges in the rooms ($20 a day which IMO is steep considering most places have them) but made do with ice in the sink.
