My husband & I had never been anywhere in North Dakota...nor had we ever spent so much per night while on vacation. That being said, we absolutely LOVED our stay at the Rough Riders. The whole town of Medora is just adorable (we like to say it's the Wall of ND), and we had 3 days of exploring to do. My husband discovered TRNP online while planning our South Dakota trip, so we wanted to check it out. The Hotel is awesome - so much history and rugged West ambience. The young man at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Our king room was gorgeous. We had a nice view of the badlands right out our window. Clean, comfy, wonderful - we had such a nice stay. Come to Medora and just walk all over town, discover all the shops and eateries. We didn't see the musical but hope to the next time we visit. The only thing keeping me from rating this place as Excellent - for the price we paid, turndown service for multi-night stays should have been taken care of. Now, I know they had a severe labor shortage not just here but basically town-wide. Still... Also, not only did my room key not work during our stay, another guest we spoke with had the same problem multiple times. I'm really not a complainer; I try to give a place the benefit of the doubt when possible....but if you have a labor shortage resulting in a closed on-site restaurant and no turndown service, maybe the nightly rate should lighten up a bit? Regardless, we know we'll certainly stay here again if possible.

We had our family there for our annual visit to Medora. We love this hotel and the staff was very accommodating. We were able to get our dinner and musical tickets right at the hotel. The atmosphere is refreshing and the rooms are really nice. We had two rooms adjoining due to my family size.

We were very happy with our comfortable room. This hotel is nicely updated, clean, and spacious. The staff was nice, and we had a good breakfast, provided by the hotel, in the adjacent restaurant. We would stay here again.

Great, historic, comfortable, inviting, unique - all words to describe the hotel itself. Friendly staff, as well - special thanks to Drury ("Dru") at the front desk for the great customer service and offering insights and recommendations for Medora (this was our first time visiting the town). We had the suite with the balcony for two nights and are now forever spoiled, though we imagine all the rooms are of high quality. Hope to visit again soon for a longer stay, to enjoy the lobby's TR book collection, dining room and quiet. This place is excellent! Recommended.

Lovely room, staff was so helpful. Bath room was gorgeous with a tiled double shower with personalized tiles of Teddy's brands as accents and a light in the shower. Super clean. Huge cases of books in the lobby for your use by a fireplace.
