i'll give. it 41/2 stars! could have been a 5 except the bathroom was really not clean wont go into detail but the toilet area was yucky! to their credit they did refund one nights stay so not disappointed in result. One elevator was out of service which was inconvenient because of some sort of a convention going on but not unbearable. The bar/restaurant was very good though I think it should serve food later on the weekends. The breakfast buffet at 14.95 was EXCELLENT. all food cooked to order and very good! Highly recommend it! There really isn't
great location in central Scranton, making it easy to walk around, with quiet and comfortable rooms. The parking is next door but not really discounted. Breakfast choice was good, with friendly staff with made to order items. Value ok, we extend a night and weren't offered going rate but rather higher weekend rate. Also breakfast and parking are extra.
Overall found it to be a very good hotel. Room was clean and modern. Good wifi connection for zoom meetings. Had appetizers and a drink at the bar, good food and excellent service. Gym is large, lots of equipment for a hotel gym. Some of it worn but functional. Indoor pool is also large but was closed for maintenance. Would stay here again. One note: Parking is at a garage adjacent to the hotel. Clearance is 6'9". Was ok for my pickup truck (F150) but pretty tight. A larger truck or SUV, especially with roof racks and luggage might have to find other parking options.
I chose this hotel because they accept big dogs (with pet fee) and our whole family, including our pup, enjoyed our one night here. The lobby is beautiful and I enjoyed the Scranton-related art on the walls. Our room was perfectly clean and had a small fridge. The beds were lovely and so comfortable. The corridor was scented (cleaners or air fresheners), which bothered my chemical sensitivity, but the scent was not in our room. We ordered a pizza from Buono pizza, which is around the corner on Lackawanna (2-minute walk)--it was amazing! There are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby, and a Starbucks and pub in the hotel. There were a few nice green spaces to walk the dog within a block or two of the property. I didn't appreciate the smokers standing right outside the hotel entrance in the covered area--I would have liked to see signs telling them keep their distance. Scranton is a cool, friendly college town in the mountains and I wish I had more time to explore it. My dog and I would be happy to stay here again (especially if there were no more smokers at the door).…
We just visited the Hotel and guess what? A big Tattoo Convention filled all the public spaces and sold the hotel out for two nights. Luckily, we had reservations earlier. Besides great people watching, the hotel staff was superb and the stay enjoyable. The breakfast chef is superb and entertaining which is the primary reason we stay here when in the area. Well done to all the staff, friendly, professional, and capable.
Excellent hotel experience. Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable with nice linens. Spacious room. Hads microfridge but lacks microwave in standard rooms. Courteous staff. Any issues resolved easily
I had an excellent time at the hotel It was a blast I hope to come again to this hotel. I definitely will tell my friends about this place it is an awesome location it is in the center of downtown Scranton
What a wonderful front desk crew. When we arrived Clay, Ashley and Derek were all there ready to help some very weary travelers. Someone had blocked the driveway so Derek went out and made sure we could back up safely to another entrance and then got us a luggage cart. Then Clay checked us in and gave us the lowdown of the hotel amenities. Ashley helped me with the microwave, did I mention we were bleary eyed. I asked about room service, but the hotel doesn’t have it. Solution Clay suggested we order from PJ’s and tell them he’d bring it to our room. These all may seem like small things, but we have traveled a lot and rarely get this sort of treatment at 5* hotels. Traveling with a large dog can be another wrinkle, but these guys were great. Kudos to the Hilton in Scranton. PS. The room was very clean and comfortable.…
