I am a Hilton diamond member and travel monthly. I have never stayed at this property and was looking forward to giving it a try. I was even more excited to have been offered an upgrade! Sadly, the upgrade may have ruined my opinion of the property. I was assigned one of the king suites with a jetted tub and separate living room and bedroom. First impression was okay, the room is oddly shaped in a way that the tv is off to the side from the couch. I could live with that. Then I pulled out my laptop to work but there was a microwave on the work desk! I also noted there were no USB jacks anywhere in this room. The bathroom was a whole other story. Mold and grime in the corners of the shower, very small shower to where you cannot turn around easily. One of the dispenser bottles of shampoo was also broken off the wall. The tub was stained and dirty, the walls have stains on them and the paper was pealing. The towels were on the opposite side of the shower. Stains and grime on the ceiling vent and somebody hired a contractor to paint who clearly didn’t know how to stay in the lines. The bedroom was okay except a very dusty odor that burned my throat. I turned off the wall unit for the hvac and it was better. More stains on the wall and the headboard was ripped and stained. I am glad I didn’t have a black light. If this is an upgrade, what do the other rooms look like? Breakfast was okay and the omelette was superb. Staff were generally kind although the manager on duty when I arrived at midnight did t give me a parking card as requested to enter and exit the parking garage. I give the overall property a 3 out of 5. Needs a remodel. Especially for the upgraded rooms.…
great location in central Scranton, making it easy to walk around, with quiet and comfortable rooms. The parking is next door but not really discounted. Breakfast choice was good, with friendly staff with made to order items. Value ok, we extend a night and weren't offered going rate but rather higher weekend rate. Also breakfast and parking are extra.
The front office staff was very helpful and friendly. The chefs were friendly and accommodating. The facility is very well maintained I would definitely stay there again. Also it was convenient to have a laundry facility for guests.
Well, the carpeting in our room was original to when this hotel was built. It had to be. Filthy. Regardless, the staff was pleasant, the bar stocked and food served. Parking was next door in a garage. Sketchy. Glad I carry. We only spent one night in Joey Stumblebum's home town. That was enough.
I just wanted to say that the front desk staff is amazing especially Sue ....although I'm also an employee;they are always on point and Sue always helps me with a smile for every little thing...down to a pair of glasses to borrow so I can see when I'm bar tending! Lol thank you all for everything you do! Yours truly, Gabe
Checking in was lovely because of Shawn. Clean. Walkable to Uni and restaurants. Price was high the weekend we stayed there for Scranton. Stay away from the rooms near the elevator. Remember that it is in the city; so, even on the highest floors you can hear road noise.
Hotel is centrally located in Scranton, PA. Walkable to many restaurants, Steamtown, University of Scranton. It is a safe area. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Plenty of parking in garage next door -typical for a city environment. I would stay here again.
The staff at the Hilton Scranton are very pleasant and helpful. It makes up for some short comings in the room(s). i.e. dirty/stained carpets, some plumbing issues. Otherwise a great stay. The bar staff is excellent as well.
The rooms for multiple members of our wedding party were quite unclean. There was food found in rooms, smell of smoke and just stink. The breakfast is not good… it is also not free! There are no signs indicating a cost or what the cost was and then my 11 and 14 year old were handed a bill for $30! $15 a person for what was not a good meal.
well lets start by giving me the wrong room. As I'm walking towards the entrance there was a group of guys drunk ,me as a woman I felt so uncomfortable and unsafe. then no one was there to help me at all. Then I walked up to my room and it was horrible the smell wasn't pleasant. there was food in the fridge. Then I go to the rest room i notice old pee on the side of the toilet. Then I look at the shower and the shower head is full of black crust. It was gross. Didn't expect this being a Hilton hotel. Then to top it of they charged me 3 time on the samr day for the room.
