RIPPED OFF AND TICKED OFF!! Caught 3 rock fish the 2nd day, Today I opened my rockfish, and there is only 1 fillet per bag. 3 bags? Now I really need the genius owner to explain how I only caught 1 1/2 fish as none of my buddy's fish made it into our box either. He told them to put the 9 (more or less) extra packages into ours.(to much weight for airlines) Got home and they never made it. PLUS, my wife and I caught 2 limits of rock fish the 3rd day and we never got that fish either. If your and hoping for meat, go elseware, the fishing was great, but I wanted all my fish and the owner told me that he hears that alot. Guess I should have checked him out further.

Fishing is always a gamble. If the bite is on everything is always better. For the record we had excellent fishing but the aside our three days here was a great experience. Ok. The boats and equipment were state of the art and our captain knew the area and worked hard to be sure we got our limits of fish. In three days we each brought home 75 pounds of halibut and salmon. Our deck hands were great, helpful and encouraging even when we lost a hook-up. The lodge and the rooms were very comfortable and now for the meals-outstanding! If you want to fish the waters around Sitka, this is the place to stay!

We just returned from our first visit to Sitka and the Sitka Point Lodge and we couldn’t be more pleased. On time airport pickup by delightful Amy and then off to our fishing lodge style rooms in the land of the Midnight Sun. They are well organized and if you listen to their advice, you will have a great time. It’s an early start with hot 4 am breakfast and 4:50 am departure for the fishing boat. This is where it gets real good, real fast. Our guide Brian was one of the best fishing guides and boat captains I’ve ever seen. He worked his butt off to get us catching gorgeous King salmon in the 20 lb range and when we had our limit of one king each, he switched to halibut. Brian trolled for the salmon while many other operators use the mooch technique. I prefer the trolling because you cover more ground looking for fish. The crew of Brian and deckhand John ( who is also a certified captain) were constantly working for ten solid hours of fishing. Checking baits, landing fish and guiding us to bring the fish to the boat, these guys were fantastic. I will definitely request Brian or John on future trips. Back to the lodge, our private chef Dave had hot appetizers waiting and a delicious salmon dinner ready for 6 pm service. He knows what he’s doing and all three dinners he prepared were great. We definitely plan to return to this lodge and their companion fishing operation which is a separate business. One recommendation I would offer is to consider upgrading the fishing boats in the future as they were a bit cramped for our group of four plus the single man not in a group who accompanied us, who was our fishing brother by the end of the trip. I know that might not be possible as fishing boats cost hundreds of thousands but it’s something to think about for the future. We are guys in our sixties who have fished together for 30 plus years and we rank this trip as the best ever. We all flew home with 45 lbs of salmon and halibut each, expertly processed and packed by owner Mike’s first class crew.

Staff was great, captains were the best, crew and house mums were all awesome. Great chef (Super Dave). Can't wait to get back again next year! We brought back approx 300 lbs of fish. The lodge cleaned and prepared the fish for shipment. My wife and I stayed in the suite (I suggest it if available) You don't have to share a bathroom. Overall we met some great folks during our stay and will probably make the next trip a family outing. Long way from Texas, however I strongly recommend this outfit.

Wow where do I start! I finally decided to take the plunge and go to Sitka, Alaska for what I was hoping to be a fishing trip of a lifetime for two of my great friends and myself. I didn't really know which one of the lodge/ charter outfits to call but while surfing the net the pictures of Sitka Point lodge intrigue me so I gave them a call. Mike the owner answered, who was very pleasant and I told him the dates we were looking for towards the last half of June and luckily he had one block left so I booked it! The weather flying up there was sunny and beautiful. Seeing all the awesome scenery - the Islands, mountains and ocean just added to the excitement and anticipation of we were in store for! Shannon from Sika Point Lodge greeted us at the airport. She was super friendly and genuinely seem excited for us. It was just about a 12 minuet drive to the lodge. When we arrived it was just like the photos looked on the internet - AWESOME! We stayed in the cabin which is separate from the main lodge. The cabin was very nice, modern, comfortable & roomy. It had one bedroom with two twin beds and 3/4 bathroom upstairs as well as a bedroom an 3/4 bathroom down stairs plus a one bed loft, full kitchen, living room with a flat screen TV and internet! The main two story lodge is very nice with a big dinning room and a large front deck and a hot tub on the upper deck! Chef Dave had breakfast ready every morning, packed us a lunch for the days fishing trip, appetizers, a really delicious dinner & dessert to finish of each day of our fishing adventure! AWESOME FISHING - We were driven down to this little private marina about 1/2 mile away. We walked down to our charter boat where Captain Eli was waiting for us. All three days of fishing were so Fun & Amazing! We all limited on king salmon every day and halibut two of the three days plus Yellow Eye, Ling Cod, Rockfish and a Silver salmon. Captain Eli ( THE FISH WHISPERER) is Awesome!! - keeping us in the fish everyday!! His knowledge, professionalism and dry sense of humor defiantly made this one our fishing trips of a lifetime! A Big Big Thank You to all the rest of the staff including the two young men who cut, packed and froze our fish daily. They also boxed up our catch ready for the flight back to Seattle. I WOULD DEFINATLEY RECOMEND CALLING SITKA POINT LODGE & CHARTERS FOR YOUR NEXT FISHING ADVENTURE!!

My brother and I stayed at Sitka Point Lodge in May 2015 and had an amazing experience. Transportation from the airport was on time and friendly and the lodge has a great view to sip a cold beer once you arrive. The rooms are basic, and if you've come for the fishing you won't be spending much time in them other than to sleep, so they are perfect for that. Food is great. Best part is being on the water with your Captain as he puts you in the perfect places to fish. We caught our limit every time we went out and had an Alaskan trip of a lifetime.

We had the perfect fishing trip. We were picked up at the airport and taken to a hotel the first night. We had plenty of time to walk around Sitka and see some sights. Later the next day, we were taken to the lodge, just a short ride. Mike and his crew were very accommodating. The rooms are not fancy but they are clean and comfortable. The common areas are roomy and many times I could sit upstairs, having the area to myself and look out the large windows at the beautiful scenery. Darrick, the chef, is excellent. Every meal was delicious. He cooked breakfast every morning, packed your lunch, had snacks when you returned from catching your fish then made a fabulous dinner. Always a little extra if you wanted seconds. The fishing was great! We caught our limit every day and brought home over 200 lbs of fish. We fished with all three captains and they put us on some big fish! The crew cleans, vacuum seals and freezes your catch each day. When it was time to leave, they box your fish, airline ready. Everyone working at the lodge was friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go again.
