Kingfisher is truly a well run operation. They are so organized and are to the minute for pick ups, drop offs, etc. The meals are amazing!!!! (Note: you can find most of the recipes on their websites for when you get home!!). The staff is so accommodating and friendly. Definitely will be back.

My husband and I discovered Kingfisher last year as we were looking for a special place to celebrate our "big" birthdays. After our first 3 day/4 night adventure on the seas off Baranof Island, I can confidently say we are hooked!! The staff is phenomenal with top notch service. The captains are so knowledgeable and will do anything to get... More

My husband, our two sons and one grandson (13) spent three wonderful days fishing with Brian and Heath. The Kingfisher experience is great - from the people that clean the rooms, serve the gourmet meals, fillet, package and freeze your catch, the drivers, captains, and management. They have great beds and even supply you with soft drinks and a free... More

Booked a 3-day trip with them in June, 2016. There were 4 in our group, and Kingfisher took care of every detail of the trip. From picking us up at the airport, lodging, food, fishing boat, cleaning and packing the fish. Lodge is nice (not fancy) and the food was excellent! They transport you down to the docs each morning,... More

I joined friends who have been booking with Kingfisher Charter for a half dozen years; they clearly have selected the best. The organization of Kingfisher really sets it apart as well as the fishing experience itself. This is a sizable operation, with about 80 guests at a time. And, everything ran like clockwork. Meals, shuttles, and boat departures were timed... More

Kingfisher Charters is essentially a smoothly operating 'middle-man', ...scheduling fishing with independent experienced Captains. The lodge is 'nice', but not eloquent, the food is good, (but not great), the rooms are good (but not great). Beware, if you have a small group, you may share rooms with another group! The entire operation is efficiently managed, with overall excellent Boats/Captains, who... More

Four of us fished for 3 days with Kingfisher the first week in June 2016. All of us had previous experience with salmon charter fishing, in B.C., Washington State and AK. On my last charter trip, to a float camp in B.C. about 6 years ago, we had good fishing and a nice experience. On the flight out, another fisherman... More

If you love a freezer full of fresh bass, halibut and salmon, come to this lodge. I've gone to three lodges in Sitka and Kingfisher is my repeat performer for 4 years now. They provide well equipped boats and guides, gear, including rain gear and gummy boots, flash freeze and heavy duty vacuum seal your fish immediately, pack it in... More

This trip was on my husband's bucket list. This was a wonderful experience. The lodge took care of every need. We went in May. Came home with 21/2 boxes of fish. The meals were so delicious. Our rooms were roomy with a private bath and very clean! We enjoyed it so much that we are going back in 2016.

Just returned from trip number 12 to Kingfishers in Sitka. The fishing was the poorest in years and the weather was more daunting than usual. The lodge, however, supplied the usual great boats, captains, accommodations and food as they have for the last dozen years. Particular recognition and appreciation goes to Heath Stone, captain and owner of the Intrepid for... More
