The Neo-Victorian decor of this classic Virginia home reflects the era in which it was built. Constructed in 1875 as a private manor house, the South Court Inn has been lovingly cared for and presents an inviting and comfortable space for guests who enjoy history and perhaps a bit of bygone romance. The spacious parlor encourages guests to gather but also offers nooks to play chess or enjoy a glass of wine. The sunroom offers 24/7 coffee, tea and snacks while surrounded by the greenery of various plants. The South Court Inn also provides a thoughtful and fresh coursed breakfast, morning coffee/tea room service and true European-style duvet bedding to fit a more elegant and comfortable guest experience. In addition to all the attractions Luray and the surrounding areas provide, South Court Inn offers two acres of land for you to explore. Extensive gardens in the front and an expansive lawn behind the home contains a number of tall hardwood trees, gardens, outdoor seating and a fire pit with plenty of fire wood. The property is also within walking distance to the Town of Luray, a four minute drive to the Luray Caverns and just an eighteen minute drive to the Shenandoah National Park entrance.

Adelheid and Mike really have knack for running a B&B and their attention to detail is spectacular, down to the coffee mugs with the name of the place on them! We arrived and instantly felt welcome and comfortable, spending some time talking to them throughout our whole visit. We stayed in the North room (front of the house), which had plenty of space for my wife and I, and a modern bathroom and shower. Both nights we arrived back at the B&B after long days of driving along Skyline Drive and hiking within Shenandoah park, we brought take out home to the patio, where they laid out a dinner setting for us on request. We stayed out there until dark basically because it had such nice ambiance, complete with plenty of wildlife (deer, rabbits, squirrels, and a neighborly cat named Babs). The owners also took the COVID-19 pandemic seriously, always wearing masks in our company. The Inn is very convenient to Skyline Drive and other nearby sights. We hope to stay again sometime soon!

We stayed two nights at this lovely bed & breakfast and it was a dream. It gave the perfect balance of cozy and luxurious. The meals were impeccable and the location was close to all the major attractions in the area. The innkeepers were very friendly yet professional and they made us feel special the whole time. The property was grand and the bathrooms were upgraded to make it feel like you were staying at a fancy hotel. We will DEFINITELY be back and we highly recommend this to anyone looking for a lovely getaway.

Booking South Court Inn B&B was very easy, the inn keepers are very responsive to any questions prior to arrival. The location of the B&B is perfect to the Shenandoah National Park (SNP), Luray Caverns and the town of Luray itself. We were in the West Room and it was perfect for the two of us. Adelheid (the inn keeper) greeted us upon arrival and made us feel very at home. The house is huge and very cozy. Our room was perfect in size and the bathroom was as well. The TV in the room had many options for viewing as well as CATV. The breakfasts were AMAZING!! Adelheid does an amazing job to ensure your stay is comfortable and she explains the local places to eat, drink and visit. We got lucky and met her husband Mike who is an avid flyer and were able to see the plane that he is building. Very nice inn keepers and an excellent B&B. Oh, Adelheid also makes homemade sweets for the evening that she leaves out for the guest. Those were very good as well. The B&B is very quiet and something to do in the area for everyone.

This beautiful Victorian with its peaceful setting just off the main part of Luray is instantly inviting. True elegance awaited as we entered this striking home. Adelheid and Mike remembered every detail when treating guests to a great welcome. Wine, chocolates, stocked mini-refrig and that special European "calm" settled us into our immaculately clean bedroom. The gorgeous bathroom with ultra updates made the walk-in shower extra safe and enjoyable. The treats didn't stop as we explored the lovely decorated common rooms open to all quests 24/7 with snacks and beverages. Walking through these rooms is like going on a treasure hunt with treats in bowls tucked away here and there. Breakfasts are beyond memorable from the presentation to the place settings to the various delectable courses. Beware, it's so good and so plentiful, we never had room for lunch which was great because we had more time for exploring this amazing, historic area. As experienced B&B travelers, we definitely will return to South Court Inn!

We stayed at the South Court Inn for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. Adelheid and Mike were gracious hosts. And The room was beautiful, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was updated and awesome. The room even included a mini fridge with cold water and seltzers and snacks in a basket.
Coffee/tea delivered outside of our room at 7:30am was surely a treat. The homemade breakfasts and afternoon home baked treats were out of this world. The table was set with beautiful place settings - we felt like royalty! We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit one night. I can’t say enough great things about this B&B and the hosts!

Adelheid and Mike have such a wonderful attention to detail that both our stays have been perfect. Adelheid spoils you with snacks, breakfasts, and an evening treat each night. Her cooking is top notch. Each day she will create a delightful mixture of sweet and savory combinations that are wonderful. Eggs South Court and her fluffy light Belgian Waffles are fantastic. If you are a tea drinker she has a fantastic selection of German teas that you can't find elsewhere. Luray is wonderfully close to Skyline Drive and they have a great stock of books which detail the different hikes offered. The caverns are beautiful and don't have stairs anymore. There is tubing or beginning white water close by. Downtown has some lovely shops. We have stayed in the Turquoise room and Gold room. Both are a delight. They are tastefully decorated without making one feel cramped for space. My husband loves the Turquoise room as it is the largest room and doesn't require using the stairs. I love the Gold room with its African motif. Ask Mike about climbing Kilimanjaro. Our first stay was for 2 nights, our second was for 4 nights. As the strongest recommendation I can give, we rarely go to the same place twice. We are considering returning for an unheard of 3rd visit.

What a marvelous weekend we had here for my husband's 60th birthday! Owners Mike and Adelheid are wonderful hosts and it was an absolute joy to spend time in this beautiful historic home. We had the North Room on the first floor, which was perfect for my hubby (no stairs to climb). The room is beautifully decorated, spacious and the bathroom even has heated floor. We arrived on a Friday and were warmly greeted by Adelheid who gave us the lay of the land and a nice glass of wine. She also had fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. There are all kinds of little treats and candies available in the common areas, but we also received a basket of local snacks in our room.
I had ordered a balloon bouquet for my husband and it was in the room, nicely displayed atop the bed when we arrived. There's also a binder that includes information about the South Court Inn, some of the local restaurants (Including menus), things to do, and how the TV works and a large selection of movies on DVD if you want to stay in and enjoy a movie night.

Before breakfast each room receives a tray with a pot of coffee and, in my case, a pot of hot water and a selection of teas. This arrives around 7 a.m. and is placed on a table outside the room door. We sipped on our morning beverages as we watched the view of the front yard with the mountains as a backdrop. Glorious!

Adelheid is an excellent cook and the breakfast was to die for. We started with fresh oats, milk and fruit, then we had stuffed French toast made with croissants topped with fresh berries and accompanied by a quarter-pound sausage patty. Needless to say, we were more than fortified for our trip to Luray Caverns. Adelheid even has a special little birthday candle that she puts on the table for breakfast if you're celebrating that special day.

I cannot say enough about Mike and Adelheid. They are couple goals and business partner goals with the most beautiful, humble spirits. We will most certainly return to South Court Inn.

One of the best B&B experiences we've ever had. Mike and Adelheid are wonderful hosts, focused entirely on hospitality and comfort. They are also a very interesting and charming people, which is always a plus when you are staying in someone's home. The inn and property are fabulous - old farmhouse that is exquisitely furnished and has all kinds of neat nooks to explore. But it also has wonderfully modern amenities (bathroom was very modern and chockfull of useful gadgets). Our room had a view of the mountains. Adelheid provided a glass of wine and delicious pastry on our arrival and room is also stocked with refreshments- super nice after a long day of exploring Shenandoah and environs. She is also a wonderful cook. We never once ate lunch - hearty breakfast kept us fueled until dinner. Inn also is a short drive to Luray Caverns and Shenandoah NP. You can walk to the nearby downtown or super cute greenway that is parallel to a nice stream packed with ducks. Mike and Adelheid are also great concierges, providing great recommendations for places to eat (you will need them; Luray is a small town and there is not a lot of variety nearby). I cannot say enough great things about South Court Inn.

The South Court Inn in Luray, VA is the most impressive and impeccably clean B & B with superb hospitality we have ever stayed at. Adelheid and Mike are attentive, down to earth and honest inn keepers. The well being of their guests is their highest priority. Adelheid is also a fantastic cook. The breakfasts are so impressively delicious and her homemade pastries are out of this world. Her special touches from a welcoming glass of wine to wrapped candies, recipe cards, unlimited coffee, tea and cider and not to mention a stocked refrigerator of beverages and snacks. The North room (spacious ground floor) was splendid and beautifully decorated with two very comfortable recliners, a Victorian style chair and a very comfy king size bed with canopy. A new beautiful bathroom with a zero entry shower and a built in corner seat was heaven. The wrap around porch decorated with autumn décor provided a warm and cozy setting with multiple comfortable padded seats with tables. Thanks again to you both for a splendid stay and your efforts are well recognized. Bob & Lisa
