We stayed two nights in the South Court Cottage which had been freshly renovated and showed. The cottage was great, comfortable and quiet. The owners are friendly, personable and responsive to every need. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and we were even brought two slices of flourless chocolate cake to enjoy after dinner. The grounds and main house are beautiful and peaceful. Consider South Court Inn for a getaway with plenty to do in the area.

Adelheid made sure we had an amazing anniversary weekend. We were greeted with complimentary wine and inside the cottage we found lots of treats. The breakfasts were simply amazing. Saturday Mike and Adelheid invited us to relax around the fire pit while talking with the other couples who all were celebrating anniversaries. The location is great...close to skyline drive, many wineries and many fun activities. The town is cute and has some great places for dinner.

Adelheid & Mike are excellent hosts. You can tell they truly enjoy what they do. They make you feel welcome the minute you arrive… giving you a tour, sharing ideas of things to do around the area as well as excellent hiking opportunities, restaurants, & providing a relaxing B & B atmosphere. Adelheid is a phenomenal cook. Her breakfasts are very flavorful and the tastes are so complementary. She bakes extra treats for the guests every day. The menu is different every day & varied. A wonderful culinary experience! It was relaxing to sit on the front porch and enjoy the beautiful mountain view, the blooming flowers, and quiet atmosphere. In the evenings, if you wanted, Mike would build a bonfire. It was very nice. My husband and I truly enjoyed our experience at South Court Inn. We highly recommend it!

Adelheid and Mike were amazing hosts and so fun to chat with! If you are used to the normal continental hotel breakfasts, you are going to be blown away by the tasty meals you are served here. Our room was cozy and the bathrooms are very modern and clean. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! I would recommend the South Court Inn to anyone visiting Shenandoah.

What a marvelous weekend we had here for my husband's 60th birthday! Owners Mike and Adelheid are wonderful hosts and it was an absolute joy to spend time in this beautiful historic home. We had the North Room on the first floor, which was perfect for my hubby (no stairs to climb). The room is beautifully decorated, spacious and the bathroom even has heated floor. We arrived on a Friday and were warmly greeted by Adelheid who gave us the lay of the land and a nice glass of wine. She also had fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. There are all kinds of little treats and candies available in the common areas, but we also received a basket of local snacks in our room. I had ordered a balloon bouquet for my husband and it was in the room, nicely displayed atop the bed when we arrived. There's also a binder that includes information about the South Court Inn, some of the local restaurants (Including menus), things to do, and how the TV works and a large selection of movies on DVD if you want to stay in and enjoy a movie night. Before breakfast each room receives a tray with a pot of coffee and, in my case, a pot of hot water and a selection of teas. This arrives around 7 a.m. and is placed on a table outside the room door. We sipped on our morning beverages as we watched the view of the front yard with the mountains as a backdrop. Glorious! Adelheid is an excellent cook and the breakfast was to die for. We started with fresh oats, milk and fruit, then we had stuffed French toast made with croissants topped with fresh berries and accompanied by a quarter-pound sausage patty. Needless to say, we were more than fortified for our trip to Luray Caverns. Adelheid even has a special little birthday candle that she puts on the table for breakfast if you're celebrating that special day. I cannot say enough about Mike and Adelheid. They are couple goals and business partner goals with the most beautiful, humble spirits. We will most certainly return to South Court Inn.
