We had our first stay at Piney Hill this weekend and it definitely won't be our last! Hank and Wiley pay so much attention to all of the little details that made our stay amazing. From the amazing breakfast every morning, to taking the time give us tips of things to do in the area, to also helping us get a reservation at a busy restaurant for our anniversary...they are the best hosts! If you are considering staying here just book it, you won't regret it.
What's not to like? The hosts truly make you feel welcome. The inn is spotless and chock full of interesting antiques and memorabilia. Breakfast is robust and tasty and there are lots of snacks lying around for guests. The hosts provided us with all the information we needed to enjoy Shenandoah National Park, including hikes at our level, and excellent driving instructions. The night we arrived we were invited to a bonfire outdoors where we schmoozed with the other guests while toasting marshmallows and making s'mores. They make it look easy but it takes a lot of commitment, caring and hard work to create an inn this good.
Beautiful property set in an idyllic country setting with farms with their cows grazing, gorgeous sunsets makes for a peaceful relaxing time. The hosts serve a wonderful breakfast in an antique filled comfortable home and who make you feel welcome. As it's several miles from town you need to plan for your dinner, or bring it back with you to enjoy on the porch or around a fire pit.
We decided to go to Luray, VA for a three day golf / birthday getaway. This was our first visit to Piney Hill B&B. Wow - what an enchanting experience. We stayed in the Mark Ruffner room which was very spacious, comfortable and cozy. Hank and Wily are incredible hosts who attended to every detail of our stay. The front porch rocking chairs offered a beautiful view of the mountains as well as the lovely yard surrounding the property. We enjoyed the firepit under the beautiful starry night. We're already planning our next visit to stay in one of the cottages. If you want a great quiet getaway - this is your place !!!
The Rosebud Cottage is the best! We had a wonderful two-night stay surrounded by views of farmlands and mountains. They really do deliver breakfast in a picnic basket on the porch! The food is delicious. Hank and Wiley are wonderful hosts.
