If you’re thinking about booking this place, go for it. We stayed in the Rosebud Cottage and it was an amazing experience. We drove down on St. Patrick’s Day & traffic was terrible. Our host, Hank, was flexible & patient with our need to extend the checkin time based on traffic. The highlight of the stay was definitely the breakfast! Having it delivered every morning in a picnic basket outside our door was extra special but the food itself was amazing! One of us is a vegetarian so each day, they marked which meal was veg. We had French toast, parfaits, scones, quiche and all was wonderful. Hank had mentioned we might have treats waiting in the room from time to time & each day after arriving back in the room, there would be another homemade snack waiting (cookies, cake, brownies)! The property is beautiful, surrounded by lovely cows wandering by and dark skies at night. Hank gave us a little overview at the beginning, which was great. The internet and TV were perfect all weekend - even though the location is remote, they have put effort into ensuring you can still get online without any issues. The cottage was clean & comfortable, it included a fireplace that warmed up the room quickly if needed. There is a little kitchen area, two recliners and a nice sized bathroom along with front and back patio. The location was perfect, we were able to easily drive to Blue Rock Inn for dinner, Skyline Drive in Shenandoah Park, Luray Caverns for the day and many other eateries & breweries in the area. We would love to go back for a longer stay next time!…

My wife and I spent a weekend at Pinkey Hills BnB and it was beautiful. We stayed in the Mark Ruffner room, which Wiley and Hank decorated beautifully. They knew we were there for our anniversary and they got us a card with a personalized message. The stay felt personalized and intimate without being overbearing. Incredibly LGBTQIA+ friendly! You will not regret your visit here.

On our second trip to PH, 4 days and nights in the Rosebud cabin, my wife and I were actually looking forward to seeing the neighbors- several black bulls taking their daily stroll across the acreage outside our back windows. "Da Bulls" did not disappoint. Nor did PH. Peaceful, scenic, relaxing, healing. Just what we needed. Oh, and ROSEBUD was white-glove CLEAN! (Yeah, we're still in a pandemic. And Wiley and Hank are very aware of that, thank you!) H & W were wonderful hosts. The BREAKFASTS were TASTY, creative and FILLING. And, the "icing on the cinnamon-caramel roll" - as we were about to drive off, a couple bulls walked up to the fence and looked our way as if to say "See 'ya next time!"

We were wanting a quiet getaway for our 22nd anniversary, someplace off the beaten path and scenic. After countless hours off searching we stumbled upon this little place on the web. We read the reviews and looked at the pictures and decided the was the place we were looking for. I figured this will be a nice trip and the cottage will be okay, something we would do once. This is something we will do again! The cottage was beautifully decorated, cozy and thoughtfully laid out. Complimentary drinks and snacks were supplied in the kitchenette as well as K-cups. The place was clean and welcoming. The breakfasts were brought right to our cottage in a picnic basket hot and plentiful. The view from the back deck is a peaceful countryside. In the cool hours of the morning the fog covered the mountains and in the evening you can watch the sun tuck itself away behind them. Unlike the staff at big chain hotels, the innkeepers were very knowledgeable about the area and made us feel at home. Most places we have stayed at, we could not wait to leave but not here. Three nights was not enough. In short, this was one of the best places we stayed at and look forward to doing again. Five stars is just a start for this unique place. It has the charm of a country house and provides the service of a four diamond hotel. If you stumbled on this place like I did, then look no further and book a stay. It is well worth it.…

You’ll have a wonderful experience at the Piney Hill BnB — we did! The house and grounds are full of history (which hosts Hank and Wiley generously share), the rooms and grounds are nicely kept, and the breakfasts are AMAZING. You’re also only a short drive from beautiful Shenandoah National Park. We’ll definitely return to Piney Hill again!

Piney Hill is beyond incredible. Hank and Wiley have set the bar for what the B&B experience should be. It’s a home away from home in such a beautiful setting. Make reservations and never miss Breakfast! Words can’t even describe how awesome it is to stay here. My wife and I will continue to stay here as long as they will have us because of the friendliness and wonderful hospitality they provide every time we visit.

What a great B&B! Wiley and Hank are the perfect hosts--they are so welcoming and helpful they make you feel like you are staying in the home of close friends. We stayed in there two nights and enjoyed every minute. They even gave me a birthday card and 2 slices of a fabulous homemade cake when they learned it was my birthday. The breakfasts are delicious and filling, and their extensive knowledge of the hiking trails and other activities in the area helped make our time in the Shenandoah Valley truly special.

Our stay at Piney Hill was the perfect culmination of our road trip. The inn was cozy, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing- I can’t eat dairy, so my breakfasts are generally limited. They modified the recipes and they were so good that I bought their cookbook to take home! (Better even than the beautiful Inn at Biltmore House!) The location was gorgeous, in the middle of farm country about 10 minutes from the caverns and town center and well worth the short drive. The only sounds to be heard was the gentle mooing of some bulls nearby in the next fenced field. We highly recommend a stay with Hank and Wiley. Judi from St. Pete

It was perfection from the moment we stepped out of our truck to meet Hank to the moment he came out of the main house to wave us goodbye!! The amount of thought that went into every detail of our stay in the Hurley Byrd Cottage was beyond what we imagined! We found new little things each day that had us saying “Hank and Wiley really thought of everything”. When we arrived Hank greeted us and guided us around the Cottage to ensure we had everything we needed. When he left we were welcomed by bulls and a herd of cows and their babies as we overlooked the breathtaking mountain views from the back porch! Breakfast each morning was delivered in the cutest basket and was spectacular, so go for that alone! There wasn’t a single thing we didn’t eat and when you book the reservation the checklist of things you want or don’t want (based in food restrictions or allergies) is very well done! I suggest the kayak package! You get so much for the price without the hassle of booking anything yourself. So that’s a win all day! The response time of these two amazing people was great. They text back in more than a reasonable amount of time and their awesome personalities shine through each text. Long story short… You need to stay here! We have already deemed this a yearly need in our lives! Thank you so much Hank and Wiley! We will see you for our honeymoon! 💜…

If you stay at B&Bs for warm hospitality, unique room decor, welcoming front porches and gardens, and delicious home-cooked breakfasts and treats, you will love Wiley and Hank's B&B. Special attention is paid to dietary needs and sleeping comfort as well as personalized recommendations for hikes, restaurants, markets, wineries and more. We stayed in the spacious upstairs room with bathroom across the hall, and while we initially were concerned about privacy and convenience - we had no need to worry. Definitely a home away from home. Highly recommended.
