Detailed Reviews
We tent camped here on a Sunday through Thursday. The Deluxe Tent Sites are $100 per night even during the week regular price. We did get a discount rate for staying 4 nights, but it was still the most I’ve ever paid for a campsite. It is very close to the entrance of Shenandoah National Park which made it an awesome location though.
The covered picnic table area at the site was very nice. It was also in a shaded area that somehow was not super “buggy” which I appreciated.
Unfortunately, when we arrived there was no water, and no bathrooms available. They were having water problems. The water came back on later that night, but the bathrooms were still overflowing with feces and toilet paper from people using the toilets with no working water. They did clean them after I complained but the next day the same thing happened again. There was no sign on the door what was going on, but the rumor was that the well was getting fixed. Thankfully on the 3rd day the water issues seemed to have ended and we had very nice bathroom facilities to use.
At the tent sites, they had an area to pitch your tent that was covered in wood chips that was maybe 6’ by 8’. The site was hilly so there was nowhere else to pitch your tent. Our tent is slightly larger than the wood-chipped area so part of the tent floor was in the dirt. This wasn’t a big deal until it rained very hard and water and mud slid down the hill next to the tent, splashing it and covering our tent in thick mud. We stayed dry, but had to pack the tent in trash bags to bring it home and clean it. Also the spigot for water at our site sprayed out in a way that you could not turn it on without soaking yourself. It was basically unusable.
We enjoyed the mini-golf, very nice playground, jumping pillow, and “gem mining”. They have 3 pools and they were okay, but nothing exciting. They also have water slides, a splash pad, and an arcade but those were closed (because of Covid, not their fault). Many of the other activities were closed because it was not the weekend such as the outdoor movies. We would have loved to have more of those activities open.
Overall, I’d say I would consider coming here again...but I would really need to get a better price, or have the water activities and arcade open. I would also like to have a better place to pitch my tent.
If someone from management happens to read this, just making a larger area of wood chips at the tent sites would have made a huge difference in our stay...our tent would have stayed cleaned and saved me a few hours of work. Please consider it.

We had a fantastic time ! We splurged and went for Premium Loft Cottage Cabin 86 which included an oven, shower and bath with working hot water, heating and AC that worked, and screened in porch. We also got a golf cart which in my 9 year old’s eyes was one of the highlights.
Our cabin was very clean and in great working condition. My 9 year old said there were a few dead bugs in the loft, but we didn’t use that space anyway.
We brought campfire wood from the grocery store. I would recommend bringing a baking sheet and shower mat. We brought hand soap, sheets and towels, a space heater just in case which we didn’t need, and electric blankets which we didn’t really need but we’re nice to have. I had forgotten paper towels and there were some at the general store there for a reasonable price of a dollar and some change.
Most things were closed, but we knew that came with the territory of the season and didn’t mind. My 9 year old enjoyed the jumping pillow, the arcade was still open (the cranes were stingy though 🤣), the free scavenger hunt paper provided by the front desk, and sitting by the campfire we made at our cabin. We brought board games and had a great time.
All of the staff was super helpful, professional, and friendly.
The Massenhutten Story book trail is a very close drive and is a nice and super easy “hike” of only like 10 minutes each way that has a great view of the mountains.
We will definitely come back!

The Yogi Bear Jellystone Camp-Resort in Luray is our go to campground and has been for the past 10 years. It continues to evolve and add new and better experiences. Like the ability to store your camper next door to the campground. This is a new offering and one I will be taking advantage of in the near future.
There is so much to do at this campground, the term Resort does in fact define this camp experience. Everything is very well done, from the friendly staff to the cleanliness of the grounds. The public restrooms and shower facilities are the nicest you will find at a camp ground, tile floor to ceiling.
We stayed over the 4th of July weekend and decided to tent camp (despite owning a 26ft travel trailer) at one of their deluxe tent sites that includes a small pavilion with picnic table and fire ring. When we arrived to the site we were supposed to occupy during our stay, the site was on a pretty steep angle and I felt like we would feel like we were sliding down the hill the whole time. We contacted the check in desk and they quickly found an open site with a more flat and level surface for us to set out tent on.
There is so much to do at this campsite for all ages, you will not be disappointed.
The only complaints I have is the men's shower had no hot water throughout our stay, there is only one hand dryer in the bathroom, so if there were more than a couple of people in the restroom facility, you had to wait your turn to dry your hands. Other than that and I consider those minor issues, my family and I had a great time.
The location is premier, just five miles to Luray Caverns and a couple miles to the entrance of Shenandoah National Park, with excellent hiking. Just a really great camp-resort, definitely our favorite.

We are grandparents, retired camp directors, and long-time RV campers. While our grandson had a wonderful time under our close supervision, we had multiple concerns about the safety, cleanliness, and supervision of the facilities. We understood that the pools did not have lifeguards, but the one staff overseeing the pools did not look up from her phone to even tell children not to run. There were staff supervising the tube slides and riding around the park on a cart with Yogi, but the only other visible maintenance staff on the grounds was the man who picked up trash bags once each day. The shower house was nicely tiled, but grout was moldy and accumulated hair clogged the drains. We pulled a small camper and were placed between tent sites. Our site was littered with trash, and the fire ring was full of burned wood. Park regulations seemed to be mere suggestions. The site next to us had four large tents, a kitchen canopy, and a food truck, with 12-15 adults and children who were loud until midnight-1 am each night. As we were leaving, we noted that they had also plugged into our electrical pedestal. Cars, golf carts, and children on scooters sped through the roads at all hours of the day and night. The crowning blow was when we were leaving and stopped at the dump station to empty our wastewater. The elevated hose had several breaks, and we both were completely soaked. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this park or any other Jellystone resort.

This was the 3rd time in the last few years my family and I stayed at Jellystone and this time we were very disappointed. We decided in April to meet extended family for a family reunion at Jellystone and both groups booked loft cabins right beside each other for the end of July. Jellystone called me 3 weeks prior to our arrival to say the cabin I booked wouldn’t be available because they were replacing loft cabins and it wouldn’t be ready until after our reservation date. Because of this, my family was bumped from the original loft cabin I booked to a comfort cabin, which was 3 streets away from our other family members. They were not concerned we were being separated from family during our stay. We got there and noticed the loft cabin I booked originally was occupied with a family. I was obviously lied to about the cabin not being ready. There were several loft cabins unoccupied and obviously not ready to be rented yet, but the one I originally booked was done and occupied. Why would they do that? Our guess is that there were only 6 in our cabin and we could be moved to a smaller cabin and they could move a larger group to a loft cabin that accommodates more people. This obviously didn’t sit well with us. I received an email from Jellystone once we returned from our trip to review and rate them and I shared my experience and dissatisfaction. That was 3 weeks ago and I have yet to get any response from them, which leads me to believe they don’t really care about their guests. In addition to being dissatisfied with their handling of our accommodations, a few other things that I was disappointed in and would normally overlook were that the pools were all filthy, there was never any security at the front gate anytime we came and went, and the price to stay there had really gone up since the last time we were there and is too high for the experience. My entire family decided we would not return to Jellystone, as there are many businesses that value their guests and care about their experience. In past years we enjoyed our visits, but not this time and definitely never again.

We are so sorry about your frustrations and the experience you have described! Our new Premium Loft Cottages' finish date was pushed back multiple times by the manufacturers, leaving us scrambling to find other cabins for guests who had booked these new cottages. In an attempt to be proactive our team moved you, along with other guests, in advance so you were guaranteed somewhere to stay during your vacation. The cottage you booked (C94) was not finished until 2 days before your stay. I am very sorry that we overlooked this and did not get a chance to move you back before it was booked. When we moved your cabin we made sure that your lock fee and additional person fees were taken off your cost, resulting in a refund that we adequately made up for the switch in lodging. We hope that you were able to enjoy your stay despite the issue with your accommodation. We appreciate your feedback and will use this as a learning experience going forward!

We camped here in mid-June of 2021 with an RV that we rented with our family and we all had a great time! The amenities were outstanding and we used the pool, jumping pillow, basketball goals, gaga pits, and movie nights every day. There were neat activities for the kids, mini golf included, and lots of character interaction. The staff were friendly and everyone from the employees to the guests were just friendly. I highly recommend Jellystone Park in Luray and we will definitely be back!
On the RV side, the sites were clean, hookups were in working order, and the roads were wide enough to navigate even the largest rigs. There are a lot of sites, but none were too far away from the action. We rented a golf cart not necessarily because we needed to, but it was just part of the fun.

Everything about the park was wonderful! The lodge we stayed in specifically is the only reason for not giving 5 stars. The Ranger Retreat is perfect for how many people we had, and we loved it last year! This year it seemed like there was a lot of maintenance that has not been addressed. Broken blinds, a cabinet handle fell and got my neices toes, unsturdy tables and chairs, doorknobs falling off, and the downstairs tubs had leaking shower heads. These were all annoying, but somewhat understandable with how big the house is. However, the washer was disconnected and unusable during our stay. With 12 guests including multiple children for a 5 day stay - this was unacceptable. We were never told this would be the case, so we didn't pack accordingly. We were offered change to take our laundry down to the pool area, which is not what i would want to spend my time doing with how much we paid for that house. Someone would have had to stay with our laundry to assure nothing was messed with or taken, and we didn't pay big money for all amenities to not be available. The no notice was the most frustrating. We also didn't have our trash picked up any mornings, until we called on the last day to bring it to their attention. Being out in the woods with local animals, made this very inconvenient. Overall we did have a wonderful stay - next time i will be checking if there is any issues before check in so we can be compensated accordingly,

I went there in August. It is very nice campground. I arrived around 1230pm I was told to check before 2pm would incur a 25 early check in fee. I felt this was petty. I have never been to a place that charges a early arrival fee. Your room may not be ready in this case your campsite or cabin may not be ready but you could use the amenities. There are signs if you touch it you buy due to pandemic. Which seemed odd but safety first. The pool is closed daily from 1pm to 2pm for cleaning. I did not see any one cleaning or wiping anything down. They had various actives through out the day. I was happy with my stay. The chairs at pool are old and out dated. They have water slides which was a nice touch. I did encounter that maybe they need to be checked as an adult during a drop I fell out the tube even though I was holding on what if I was a young child that could've been very bad. I told the lifeguard this . He didn't seem to care. They offer a military discount of 10 percent Sunday though Thursday which I liked. The only issue I had was the concession stand that sold food was out of food. Like all food they only had Hot dogs. All in all it was a great weekend.

Stayed here in our 32' travel trailer at one of the mountain view sites for a long weekend. Site was easy to access and had a decent amount of space. The campground is very close to the Shenandoah National Park and is clean. We were there in October so were not able to use the water slides or pool. This park was a little pricey for what you get and I do not recall even seeing any of the yogi characters the entire time we were there. This is not really a problem since my kids are a bit over the age for caring about seeing the characters. The main issue we had with the park was the enforcement of loud noises and quiet time. One of the sites behind us decided to party into the wee hours of the night for 2 nights in a row. We complained the first night but apparently it did nothing. I don't think we were the only ones to complain as I overheard someone else in the office complaining on Sunday morning. I will say these noisy neighbors were not loud on Sunday evening. All in all it is not a bad campground but they need to think about enforcing quiet hours better.

Thank you for the review, baumdrop. We're glad that you enjoyed your site and the park overall. In regards to the noise, we do our best to enforce the quiet hours so we're sorry if we fell short with this specific site. We will address this with our rangers. In regards to the characters, they are out around the park or at specific events at least twice a day. Perhaps you just missed them? In any case, we do hope you will give us another chance in the future.

We took our 2 grandchildren for 5 days and they had a ball! They enjoyed all the activities, including the pools, waterslides, mini golf, jumping pillows, gaga ball, and organized crafts and activities. We stayed in a deluxe comfort cabin. For 4 of us it was small but worked out fine with 2 younger children. My only complaint would be the lack of cleanliness of the cabin. It was obvious it had not been cleaned before we arrived, floor was dirty, especially along the walls and in the bathroom. Lots of black mold in bathroom and floor edges, including shower curtain. My husband said he saw mouse droppings so we made sure to keep all food up off the floor. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would consider going again, but would need to make sure the cabins were much cleaner next time.

The breakfast buffet was very small, pancakes,French toast, sausage and eggs and that was all but the other food from the snack bar was good, also there is a Italian restaurant called Dominico's that's really good right up the street and they actually deliver there. Thanks and enjoy
We just returned from our third family trip there over the past several years. Our 9-year old boys really love this campground and are already looking forward to our return this fall. When we were there over Memorial Day weekend, there were kids of all ages, from
under 5 to upper teens. It depends on what your grandchildren like to do, as that varies for different kids, but they have a number of activities that I believe are well suited for children of all ages. They shouldn't be bored.
Hi camper, site 69 is a 35ft campsite.
RV Sites: Generally, this is not allowed. However, you may receive permission from the reservation manager for specific sites that will accommodate an RV and small tent. Maximum occupancy to not exceed 8 people and you will be responsible for paying for occupants after the included 4.
Thanks!
We were in site 69 and the three bears lodge. We found WIFI spotty and slow. Used 4g cell more often just to check mail, as ATT reception was sometimes less than 5 bars.
