We stayed for 4 nights and this lodge was highly recommended by several people. It was only 1 mile from the entrance to Sequoia National Park which is convenient. There is a restaurant next door which we went to twice. It’a over 5 miles from town so having the restaurant and mini fridge & microwave in the room were helpful. They have a charcoal bbq that we can use and wish that it was gas bbq. It was over 100 degrees when we were there and it was not ideal to be outside bbqing. The pool was nice and refreshing. The lodge was located near a river and had a nice view. The hostess was nice. I mentioned over the phone that it was my husband’s birthday on Labor Day, which was the day that we arrived. There was a welcome basket with goodies and muffins with a birthday card. It was very thoughtful.

During our California road trip (also our honeymoon) we really enjoyed this accommodation. Great and quite room, with an outstanding view and a natural balcony over the river. Amazing pool - essential in August with 40 degrees celsius. Just 1 mile far from the entrance of Sequoia National Park, so perfectly located. Highly recommended!!!

Wanted a stand alone cabin for family with a dog that was close to Sequoia National Park. This charming rustic cabin was perfect and the dog loved it. So did we. The entire property was well maintained inside and out. Super clean which is not always the case with cabin rentals. The lodge next to the river looked nice and had great view of the river. We stayed in the cabins across road from river and lodge. Some cabins are high up and have a nice river view. Ours did not have a river view but it was still wonderful. Ours had a fairly private outdoor patio that was shaded by hill behind it. Beds comfortable, even the day bed. Decent size bedroom with nice queen bed. Typical small cabin shower with adequate shower head and water pressure. California does not have strong water pressure so may seem low for some people but was same as other cabins and many homes. Plumbing in good shape and worked well. Kitchen excellent with good stove and microwave. Air conditioning worked well and was separate unit for bedroom and also for main area. Hard floors were so clean. Kitchen had organic coffee beans, grinder and non toxic soap which is part of the eco friendly intention of the property. Bathroom had nicest smelling non toxic shower gel on tap. Cabin even smelled clean which is hard to find with pet friendly cabins. No sign of bugs. One of our family is very sensitive to chemicals including insect spray, air freshener, and even laundry soaps. Nothing in this cabin bothered her. The staff was super helpful and provided enough towels, extra coffee beans. Good places to take dog for bathroom breaks. Close enough to walk to main office and a decent restaurant but away from any noise. Some cabins are closer to road but this one was set back and super quiet and peaceful. Much larger and nicer than appears in the photos too. Check in fast and easy. Same with check out. Didn’t use the two salt water pools - too busy at park - but they were clean and guests were enjoying them. Neither were too busy and we were offered access to both pools. Didn’t receive the muffin basket people write about but maybe they don’t do that anymore. Short drive to park entrance. Not super close to main part of three rivers town and espresso cafe or other restaurants but we didn’t need them. Get groceries on way through town unless you want to drive back to town which we didn’t want to do. Spent two nights and ate at Gateway restaurant across street. Loved their breakfasts but dinners just ok and a bit high priced. There are charcoal bbqs for each cabin. Loved this cabin and didn’t want to leave.

My first stay at Buckeye Tree Lodge was 20 years ago when I was 9 years old! I have been going back ever since with my grandparents and family and significant other! It is a less than 10 minute drive from the South entrance of Sequoia National Park! Rooms are super cute and AC works well! Very friendly staff! Back porch has gorgeous views of the mountains! I think a hidden gem of this place is that river behind that you can go and hangout in for hours on end!

I found this to be a very restorative experience. So nice to be in a place committed to sustainability. A morning swim in the saltwater pool was lovely. Morning coffee on the patio listening to the birds chirp and the river flow. Grandsons loved the tree rope swing. Literally at the front door to Sequoia. Get gas and stop at the Village Market before you get to the Lodge to save having to backtrack.

I just returned home from staying at the beautiful Buckeye Tree Lodge in Three Rivers California. Once again we had great time. The place and entire staff could not be better. We went up for some business and some much needed down time. For the most part, we were able to do both. I should also mention that this is our third visit ..this year. We plan on going back again and again ..

Buckeye Tree and Lodge was so serene and a perfect place to stay while visiting Sequoia. We arrived to a wonderful welcome basket and the absolute best muffins! Such a wonderful treat for the morning with delicious coffee they also offer in-room. We had a beautiful view with a patio and Adirondack chairs to enjoy the sounds of the river and beautiful landscape. The room also had a microwave (warm muffins!) and a small fridge which was extremely helpful for storing cold beverages for our hikes. It was so nice to be able to bring our dog with us as well. The lodge was extremely accommodating and left great tips and even a milk bone for him. The room was very clean and beds were very comfortable after a long day of hiking. We can't thank the team enough for such a beautiful and wonderful stay, we will definitely be back!

We stayed in room 2. It was very clean, grounds well maintained. Lots of great outdoor space to explore or sit & read a book between the building and the Kaweah River. It was quiet & great location for visiting Sequoia National Park. Short walking distance to a riverfront restaurant. I left an article of clothing, management called me the day of checkout to arrange sending it to me. Absolutely fantastic!

This was our second stay at the Buckeye Tree Lodge and Cabins and I cannot recommend it more highly. This time we stayed in Dogwood Cottage which comfortably held 2 families of 4 and provided a lovely gathering place with it's large living room. Last summer we stayed in Room 9 which is also a treat as it is on the river side and has a mini kitchenette. The rooms and cottages are all conveniently located to each other making this an awesome spot for a large family gathering. Not to mention the swing they have set up on the river side that entertains kids of all ages for hours! You are less than 5 minutes driving from the entrance to Sequoia National Park. The small town of Three Rivers is just a 10 minute drive away and there is lots of river access for hiking or even swimming in warmer weather. Buckeye shares it's parking lot with the Gateway Lodge and restaurant which has an awesome wrap around patio for dining and a large banquet room in the back you can reserve for larger parties.
