We arrived pretty late, after dark and almost before the office closed. The nice guy in the office checked us in and got us situated. There is no cell service here. Luckily there is wifi. It is not a fancy place but perfectly fine for a nights rest on the way to Sequoia National Park. The location is in a... More

A lovely little hideaway in the mountains with a wonderful, helpful front desk manager (whose name I forgot to take). We didn’t have the breakfast option, so can’t comment on the food, though there’s a convenient diner across the road/next door (depending on which side of the lodge you stay). The lovely suite/self-catering apartment was well stocked, Comfortable and spacious.... More

I gave this place only 3 stars, not because there was really anything wrong, but because of all the things that could be much better. The setting is very peaceful and quiet. The room rates were reasonable for this area, but that is also the problem. I would have paid $200 or more if the place in much better shape.... More

The location of the lodge is great; it's very close to the entrance of the park. However, it's one of a few right outside the entrance to the park. The pros: the location is nice and convenient to the park and the view is nice. The owners are very kind and friendly. The cons: we stayed in room #5 and... More

This is a basic motel but the location is great, the river and grounds are great, and the rooms are private and quiet. The basket of food and juices make up for not having breakfast. Clean and convenient.

We really liked this place, 2 nights, stop number 10 for us & an idyllic location to enjoy both the National Park & the surroundings of the lodge itself. I think ours was room number 1, it was basic but very comfortable & clean. A breakfast basket was provided with fruit, canned drinks & muffins....and coffee facilities with a coffee... More

We enjoyed our two day stay at this unique mountain lodge. Rooms were really nice and each day a welcome gift of fruit and muffins was left for us to enjoy. Close to the National Park. Nice view of the mountains and overlooked a small stream.

Stayed 1 night with my wife when we were doing a road trip around California. Great lodge with stunning views. Room was clean and tidy and check in was simple. Rather than the standard coffee pouch there was an electric grinder and proper beans! Heaven ! Swimming pool catches the sun right until sunset and twoels are provided. Gateway Lodge... More

Stayed there for one night during our summer vacation. . Conveniently located near the entrance to the park, but the room was a bit outdated. . We also dined at the restaurant near the hotel. During the peak of the summer, it was not full at all. Food was ok, a bit pricey but for the convenience.

We stayed for one night at Buckeye. I was glad it was one night only. The good: The cabin was spacious. There was AC, a TV, fridge and microwave. The bed was very comfortable. Clean towels. Hot water. The bad: The carpet was stained and smelt very musty. There was no kettle. The room was very dated and in serious... More
