My husband and I tried the Gateway Restaurant recently for the first time in 15 years since we began visiting Sequoia Natl Park. The place is a bit rundown considering the view of the river and location just outside of the entrance to Sequoia Natl Park but it was right next door to our hotel. The food was just average... What an incredible place! Sunday brunch was wonderful - food, service and view! We sat at a table by the window that overlooked the river. Very special experience! The restaurant itself was built in the 1920's and is super quaint and quirky....in a GOOD way! It is a MUST stop when you are going to the Sequoias!

We just stayed here. You can easily walk to the park from the Lodge. It's almost winter and it's cold in Sequoia Park. We stayed in room 1 which is next to the road into the park. It was quiet and warm both in temperature and ambience and had everything we could want. It's heated with an electronic heater that... More

Food was extremely overpriced for Sysco frozen food. $15 for a cheeseburger? $10+ for frozen mozzarella sticks? I know the view is great but, it's not worth the inflated food price. Our waitress, Caitlin, was awful and inattentive and we were the only customers. The host did the waitresses job most of the time. I'm pretty sure they add boxed... More

My sisters and I are enjoying sequoia national park and have been to the Gateway Restaurant 3 times already. Nice place, outstanding service and good variety of food options. Outdoor dining is fun. Location is convenient as it is very close to the park entrance.

Me and my husband have been to the gateway many times for lunch. This way our first time for brunch an as always it was perfect table outside in the back with the river running. Loved there brunch menu and champagne. We will be going back there soon for dinner.

Went up late on a Friday night and enjoyed a couple drinks at the bar with my girlfriend and the bartender Kevin. Great hospitality and great drinks. Had a huge bed and a great room. They really worked with us when we got there late. They made us feel like we had been friends for years. Great atmosphere and great... More

We live in Three Rivers and the Gateway is our choice for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks. Our ranch is also a vacation rental in 3R and send our guests to dine at the Gateway. Their steaks, seafood, and hospitality never disappoint. Glenn and Susan to McEntire are your hosts, tell them I sent you.

I didn't quite know what to expect when arriving at this location since I am a hotel snob when it comes to my accommodations, due to the mixed reviews on this site but we took a chance on Gateway Lodge. We considered it a cabin, so had "roughing it" camping expectations. We stayed in Cabin 7 which is right on... More

The worst experience in California ever. I ordered "chicken fried steak" and was surprised that it was NOT chicken! It was a beef!!! I don't eat meat in religion purposes. We asked the staffs to solve this problem, but instead of that they cut off the price of this dish (which included soup or salad, and the choice of the... More
