We spent three nights in a 2-room casita, located across the street from the main facilities. The room was large and nicely decorated, with a separate sitting area and a small kitchenette. Service was generally good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is about three blocks from the city center and plaza, an easy and safe walk. The rate was surprisingly low. Two reasons for not giving five stars: 1) The furnishings and decor, although attractive and clean, are getting old and a refresh is in order. 2) There is a step separating the sitting and bedroom areas that is truly dangerous. We were lucky to incur no injuries, only a couple of stubbed toes and one loud crash when I fell into the nightstand on one unsuccessful journey to bed. Overall, we loved this hotel and would be happy to stay again.

My partner and I decided to stay here last minute while on a road trip. I called to reserve and the concierge said that they would kindly waive the resort fee since nothing is open during COVID. There was no mention of parking fees or anything like that when I asked what the parking situation was. I was charged an extra 50 dollars and didn’t discover this until I checked my bank statement. I realized that they never gave me an itemized receipt. When I called to ask about this, the concierge told me to hold and insisted that the manager talk to me. She was incredibly rude to me and eventually hung up on me when I was in the middle of talking. I was stunned at the horrible customer service coming from management. I visit my cousin in this area often and we even left saying how great it was that we found a cool hotel that’s right down the street from where they live, even if it is a bit dated. Unfortunately we won’t be giving this place any more of our business after that awful interaction and hidden fees.

Service, comfort, cleanliness, ambiance all exceptional, especially considering Covid constraints. Staff went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. Julia patio for dinner was outstanding. Most highly recommend!!!

Stayed here mid October 2020. I chose this place because of the ground floor casita style rooms that were pet friendly. I stayed in a larger king room but even then it was on the small side. It lacked a few standard things like a do not disturb sign, ceiling lights (it was a very dark room) and complimentary bottled water. The coffee in the kerig was horrendous. Getting to the room from the street was a bit of a wiggle through the grounds, and although this was great for our dogs, it made for some finagaling with our luggage. Our biggest issue was the fireplace surround- on the ground up to the bathroom door was a 1.5” tall stone surround that bled over the walkway to the bathroom. Both husband and I stubbed our toes walking to the bathroom during the night when it was pitch black. Also the doorways were pretty narrow so it was difficult with our larger luggage. Another issue we had was that they charged $25 + fees to self park your car in the garage that is a bit of a hike a block away and quite tight. We were also charged the resort fee although restaurant, spa and even lobby bathroom was closed (due to Covid). No complimentary coffee, tea or water in the lobby either. We bought 2 bottles of Aquafina in the lobby and was charged $15 for “concessions”. Our $200/night room was $300/night after all fees. Note: they take Covid very seriously in Santa Fe and just about everyone wears masks everywhere including walking/jogging about town even though they are well over 6 ft from another person. Make sure to keep that mask handy.

Had a great stay at La Posada (Sep 2020, so during Covid). The property is very pretty, and my room (although older) was clean and spacious, with a super-comfortable bed and linens. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Everyone was really great about the covid precautions. I really enjoyed my stay - it was a great location for walking down to the shops/restaurants/churches in town. I would definitely stay there again.
