The Eldorado Hotel and Spa boasts a prime location favored by many travelers for its proximity to downtown Santa Fe, yet opinions on the hotel are mixed. While guests often applaud its New Mexican style and cleanliness, some find the rooms outdated and the service inconsistent.
The hotel's amenities, including the pool and valet parking, are popular, but criticisms arise over Wi-Fi issues and perceived value, with several travelers deeming services overpriced. Despite this, the atmosphere is noted for its inviting tranquility.

Detailed Reviews
My mother and I recently spent two nights at the Eldorado and couldn't have been more pleased. Though the hotel is older, it was impeccably clean, the room was large, and the bedding and beds were extremely comfortable. Their customer service was also outstanding. They always addressed us by our names, offered coffee or cold water to take with us at the front desk, and just bent over backwards to make our stay nice. I realize that due to the pandemic they were not busy and were thrilled to have guests, so I hope this standard of care is consistent. Ease of getting to the property and the parking garage could not have been easier. Located two blocks south of the plaza, it was a great location for the price. My 82-year-old mother had no trouble walking to the plaza and surrounding shopping. The rooftop bar by the pool is lovely with comfortable chairs, fire pit, and a happy hour! We will definitely stay here our next trip. I felt it was by far the best deal at a modest price after checking many other hotels close to the plaza.

Hotel was nice, room was clean, front desk was friendly except the big guy who completely ignored us (3 people) while the receptionist was on the phone, he just walked around but no help. We booked a room with a fireplace and when we asked if someone can come and lit the fireplace the answer was no due to a bad weather outside. I believe this location have a strong wind often so why even bother to build a fireplace and unable to use it. There was a problem with the plumbing in our bathroom, we reported it but it was not fixed before our check out so no morning shower. And don’t believe that the parking and WiFi is free. That’s what the big guy told us. The day after my check out the hotel charged me without my consent for parking, WiFi and two bottles of water. It may be a nice hotel but the this experience simply makes me look elsewhere if I ever visit this area. And whoever is going to reply to this, please create something more personalized, don’t just copy and paste the typical answers that I read on every other review.

Took myself to a ski outing for my 60th birthday in December 2020 and stayed for 3 nights at the Eldorado Hotel & Spa.
Obviously with the whole COVID-19 protocol I was a little nervous about what the stay would be like.
Elizabeth and Roosevelt at the front desk were on top of everything, incredibly welcoming and accommodating for all our needs and requests! In fact, I carried two farolitos bulbs down to Elizabeth letting her know they were out on our balcony. The next day they were all lit up and ready for us to enjoy the great Jupiter/Saturn conjunction.
Roosevelt upgraded my room before we even arrived so we had a beautiful balcony view!
I only saw two other guest parties in the hotel the entire time we were there. Although the restaurants and bar were closed, Elizabeth and Roosevelt were quick and spot on to offer ideas for where to find open dining options.
The room was immaculate! In the case of this one, they had creatively removed a wall between two smaller rooms in order to create a larger, very comfortable room with a full shower bathroom, as well as a smaller sink and toilet bathroom. What a great idea.
Daily cleanings during COVID-19 were optional, and Roosevelt made sure every day when we left, that the cleaning staff was alerted the room was ready to be cleaned.
Thanks to the entire staff, seen and unseen, for making my COVID-influenced 60th birthday a delightful and memorable experience!

I am so glad I picked Eldorado Hotel for many reasons. Most important as a handicapped female getting around the Hotel was very friendly and very assessible with ramps and elevators. The staff accommodated me for whatever physical issue that was needed. The guest services Manager Roosevelt was so incredibly nice, accommodating, kind, and committed to providing an excellent experience. Roosevelt and his team are truly top notch providing a 5 star experience. Conner, Josh, Alvina. Roosevelt went out of his way to save our trip for us and for that I am forever grateful! The hotel is beautifully decorated, the rooms are large and spacious and very comfortable, the brand new pool is stunning and the lobby and other amenities are gorgeous and wonderfully decorated. The rates are very fair for Santa Fe and the hotel completely delivers the hacienda/adobe south west style I'm sure you're looking for when staying in Santa Fe. It is the PERFECT LOCATION *especially for handicap people who uses wheelchairs/walkers) the rooms overlook the beautiful square and mountains everything is within walking distance. It's everything you're looking for and probably more. I could not recommend this hotel and their incredible staff any more!! Thank you again to Roosevelt. Also Gabriel, who is the parking garage attendant, his smile, charisma and knkowledge of the area was very helpful and made us ladies feel safe in the garage area. The El Dorado is now our go to spot to stay when visiting Sante Fe.

Perfect location: All you need is just right the corner, and getting to the ski resort is about a 30 min drive. Up the main street you find Tia Sophias. A genuine mexican restaurant. Do yourself a favor and pay it a visit. The Draft Station further up the street serves price winning beers.
Lovely hotel: Clean and pretty rooms, gym and roof top hot tub. Very quiet.
Very helpful staff: All the young ones at the front desk were so friendly and helpful.
I will for sure stay here again if I’m coming back to Santa Fe.

Decided on 1/31 we wanted to go to Santa Fe for the weekend for a family trip. I have 2 children who love to swim so I called the hotel before booking on the same day to make sure pool was open and heated. Hotel staff said yes, so I booked a room for that night (1/31-2/2) and the following night. Very disappointed to get there that evening and kids went to the pool to swim to find out there was no water in the pool. Called front desk thinking maybe they had a second pool somewhere else in hotel. Front desk said the pool was open and functioning. When I told the front desk it had no water in it and yellow tape blocking it off, staff claimed they had any idea it was closed. If we would have know this we would have stayed elsewhere were the kids could swim. Staff did not seem to care it was closed and would have made a difference in where we stayed. Also the first night we were there the room next to us was very loud at 1 am and woke us all up. Had to call the front desk because even after knocking on wall they wouldnt be quiet. Took about 20 minutes before security came and then after security left a little while later they got loud again. The hotel was not even close to being full so not sure why you place guest next to others when there are plenty of open rooms.
On a positive note, the shuttle service was great and Tony got us where we needed to go.

We are deeply sorry that your stay with us missed the mark in a couple of areas. In reference to our pool, we will work on our communication as a team to ensure that we are providing more accurate information to our guests moving forward. As for the noise in the room next door, we apologize that your neighboring guests did not respect our quiet hours. We understand both of these situations can be very frustrating and we will work as a team to provide better service for the future and better assist our guests with similar concerns. We hope you can forgive us as we would all like to care for you the way Tony did and make your next stay great!

The suburb care with which we were treated from the moment I called in to see if there was one room we needed in an emergency situation made me feel a level of confidence and loyalty to this hotel and staff members I have not had previously at any other hotel. Most especially Ismael Meraz, the Director of Guest Experience extended such personal and compassionate customer care to my husband and myself. His lofty standards of personal excellence were exemplary. He went above and beyond to assist us in securing a room at the very last minute during the Santa Fe Market weekend, and continually made us feel cared about and watched over as our stay unfolded. He is an exceptional human being with impeccable grace. The food was excellent in the Agave Restaurant, reasonably priced with generous portion sizes. The room we were given was immaculate, cooled to perfection with a quiet air conditioning system, and had the best bed with extremely comfortable pillows, sheets and quilt. This experience exceeded any exceptions we might have had. Ismael was the absolute best part of our stay. We had our ten year old dog with us, who was welcomed affectionately by the Assistant General Manger, Brenna Bella. There was a convenient area across the street from the hotel where we could potty our dog. We had our own bags to clean up afterward. We were made to feel very special, and cared for from start to finish. Vernon the Parking and Valet Attendant was lovely. Even at 9:00 at night, he was cheerful, helpful and couldn't do enough for us to make sure we had all the help we needed transferring our luggage to the luggage trolly he provided. When we checked out, JJ DiJanni, the Valet and Bell Supervisor came to our room, and with great care assisted us in transferring all our belongings onto the luggage trolly, and escorted us downstairs to our car in the garage, helping us pack everything in the car again. We were so grateful for all the kindness we received that we contacted the General Manager of the hotel, Randy Vasquez via email to express our appreciation, within minutes of sending the communication to him, he was so gracious to respond acknowledging our message. The standards of excellence that are set and maintained at The Eldorado Hotel and Spa are second to none. Our stay was not long enough to enjoy the Spa, but I have no doubt it offers the same exceptional care to guests enjoying services offered there. We will only stay at the Eldorado the next time we are in Santa Fe, NM, and intend to explore the other properties in the hotel collection when we travel next at other locations. You will have a beautiful experience at this hotel. The entire staff is dedicated to offering the height of guest satisfaction and comfort. Spectacular!!

The front desk staff was very welcoming, helpful and offered coffee and hot cocoa when we arrived. The lobby was beautiful and we ordered drinks from Cava in the evening. The wine tasted weird like it had been open for a while and was high-priced. Our room was very average and was pretty much like a motel room, but with southwestern accents. Our room had a fireplace and we did enjoy a fire on our first evening, but we waited a really long time for the bellhop to light the fire (more than an hour). Our room was right next to the elevator, a pair of chairs, and stairs to the hot tub/pool and it was very noisy. The sound-proofing was limited and, during our second evening, we could hear people right outside of the room until about 1:30 AM or so. We were traveling with young children, so this was challenging. At one point my husband asked a group of people if they could head downstairs and they did, but a few minutes later there was another group sitting in the chairs and chatting loudly.

We stayed here during a weekend snowboarding trip at Ski Santa Fe and were very pleased with this hotel. Conner welcomed us and was so friendly and helpful. After getting us checked in, he gave us food recommendations for dinner and helped get us oriented to the area. Our room was very clean, our balcony had a great view of the city and the mountains, and Mike came up and lit a fire for us in the fireplace every night. The staff and hotel exceeded our expectations, and I would definitely stay here again. One block to the plaza and the best part is that they are pet friendly!

We spent a three day weekend at the Eldorado and stayed in one of their larger suites and had quite the enjoyable stay. We were on the fourth floor with a corner one bedroom suite which felt more like a small apartment! The nicely sized patio looked out over the pool area and was a great area to sit out at and relax, eat or read. The pool itself has a great friendly atmosphere and the GM was even walking around at the pool checking in on folks to see how they were doing. The Eldorado also has unlimited free waters and these were most helpful after a run, while sitting out at the pool or otherwise exploring Santa Fe from the Eldorado’s central location, which was a five minute or less walk from the heart of Santa Fe’s Plaza, but far enough away so you never felt like you were in a busy area. The rooms may be a little dated, but we were OK with it and loved the charm! Shout out to Roosevelt at the front desk who checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed and also to Josh and Lucas in the Valet Garage who both took extra good care of us as we were frequently taking the car or if not taking it, retrieving items from it!
