Positives: The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, very quiet. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially the young man who greeted us outside when we arrived. Breakfast was average, not the best but not the worst we've had. We loved Del Charro, food and drinks were very good. Most imporantly you simply cannot beat the location. Negatives, The beds were not very comfortable, the mattress seemed old and basic. And as others have mentioned the Parking spaces are very tight. We got a dent in our car door from another car. We;re on the fence as to weather we would stay here again, mostly because of the parking situation.

Love traveling all over the world and finding unique places to stay. This place was perfect to stay right in walking distance of everything and so authentic Santa Fe. Decorated beautifully in the rooms, lobby, hotel corridors. Some rooms have wood adobe fireplaces. Upon arrival they gift you a tasting tray of sherry, biscochitos, almonds and dried fruit. Loved it all. If you book directly with them you receive a $15 credit each day to use from the restaurant which is amazing. It can be used for food, drinks, room service. Included in all room bookings is a cooked to order delicious breakfast. We loved this place and highly recommend it to all coming to visit Santa Fe.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay at this gorgeous Inn. The welcome gift of brandy and snacks was much appreciated. The room was quiet and comfortable. Not luxurious but just as we expected. We didn’t use the kiva fireplace in the room, but it was ready to go if we did. Breakfasts were delicious and made to order. My husband liked sitting in the pretty pool area reading his book in the late afternoon. Highly recommend, and we can’t wait to come back!

This Small downtown hotel offers FREE parking and FREE breakfast, a welcoming tray of sherry, fruit and cookies and a heated swimming pool. Rooms in the older part of the hotel come with fireplaces ( these rooms have small restrooms). A Wonderful location two blocks from the plaza. The hotel is in the traditional Pueblo style with Southwest decor. Very comfortable. You well prepared breakfast is from a limited menu but has such variety you will not be disappointed. If you reserve your room directly with the hotel you receive a $15. Daily credit at the on site restaurant or bar. The restaurant is a local favorite my own favorite is the green chili cheeseburger. The bar has a marvelous house margarita served in a shake (so equals two drinks). The staff is well trained and knowledgeable of the area

Excellent service. Beautiful room. We had a mini suite for four women and it was perfect. Fireplace and balcony. Breakfast included which was very good! Have stayed here many times. A bonus is parking in the lot and walking to the plaza.

Driving into Santa Fe on Alameda along the Santa Fe River – a creek, really -- you just sort of fall into the Inn of the Governors. First impression: it made us smile. This is the place you return to as often as you can, not slick like the large, new hotels in Santa Fe. It has that comfortable, ageless look of a place travelers have enjoyed for a long time. Actually, not that long – it opened in 1965. We were greeted at the front desk before heading to our room at the end of one of the most beautiful hotel corridors I’ve seen in a while – rich with deep Southwest colors and select pieces of art and furniture. Our room was large; the bath was small but functional. The furniture was authentic, hand-crafted, and showing it had served guests well over the years. The Inn has a beautiful pool right off the lobby, but it was too cold to use in mid-May. About that lobby –comfortable furniture, books to read, artwork on the walls. A good place to spend a rainy day. Disappointed with expensive and disappointing hotel restaurants? You’ll love Del Charro. A sunny, casual place with impeccable service by a staff which appears to have been around for a long time. Great hamburgers, wraps and salads in generous portions, excellently prepared. And the best news: a full breakfast is included with your room. Not skimpy either – eggs, omelets, meats, oatmeal, the works. And the drinks coming from the bar are great too. The bar is the most authentic part of this exquisitely authentic place. Big, tasty margaritas – 18 of them on the menu. Of course, the best evidence of a great bar is whether the locals go there. They do. Posting up at the bar for a couple of mid-afternoon tacos, we found ourselves sitting next to the former two-term mayor of Santa Fe. When planning our visit to Santa Fe, my wife (who is expert in these things) spent a fair amount of time reviewing the many great places to stay. I’ll save you the trouble: plan to stay at the Inn of the Governors. You’ll love it.

We decided to stay here last minute traveling through NM. I love the design of the hotel and the older room charm. Captured the Santa Fe experience. Beds were comfortable and rooms were very clean. Staff were amazing. A fantastic complementary breakfast makes the cost of the room well worth it. Will be returning again!

Comfortable room, very friendly staff, great location, excellent breakfast included in rate. Bathroom area could be modernized. Very friendly staff and pretty good food in adjoining restaurant. The Wi-Fi in our room was extremely weak.

This hotel was charming and rustic. Rooms are true Santa Fe style and you are welcomed with sherry and New Mexico cookies. We were on a road trip with our classic 1953 Bel Air and they even made sure we could park it safely. Breakfast was delicious and made to order and the El Charro bar and restaurant was excellent and staff were so accommodating. You can literally walk everywhere in minutes. This hotel was our favorite place during our two weeks of trave! Can’t wait to do a return visit…

It was a great stay. There was welcome cookies and sherry. The breakfast was made to order and huevos rancheros incredible. The attached bar/restaurant El Charro was very good but get the house Margaritas in the shaker not the other kinds. There is a daily $15 credit at the restaurant! There was a heated pool. I would suggest the balcony rooms and for go the fireplace but the fireplaces were cute. Lastly the entire staff is incredible and take time to talk to you and be kind. Kenneth at the front can map out anything for you ! Which also leads to the fact that the hotel is walking distance to everything. We didnt have to move the car the entire trip and we traveled every direction . On Almeda across the street were stores we found the best prices at for souvenior plates and pottery. We couldn't have been happier
