Great, friendly we’ll trained hotel and restaurant staff. Food was very good, considering we were in partial lockdown due to COVID-19. Rooms are very quiet and clean. This will be my home from now on while in Sant Fe

Hotel's Favorite
My wife and I have stayed at Inn of the Governors in excess of a dozen times, and it has always been an outstanding stay. Seeing the same employees time after time (Carlos, Charlene, Ken, Bea and others) makes it feel like a homecoming. This time, we met Mayra (who we mistakenly called Maya - sorry about that), who was as wonderful as the rest. The room was great and very clean; the bed linens are definitely a cut above; and the breakfast was both plentiful and yummy. It's a tribute to both employees and management that you see the same employees visit after visit. They must be treated well by the family owners, and the employees are very good at their jobs. An individual owned lodging establishment can be really good or really bad, and Inn of the Governors is definitely at the top of the heap for quality. Little things, like the beautiful flowers on the outside rails of some of the rooms, the afternoon sherry and cookies, the morning papers, and the general feel of luxury make staying here one of my favorite vacation spots ever. The attention to detail is very much appreciated by my wife and I, like the availability of decaf tea and coffee, the filtered water in the lobby, and the ability to tailor your cleaning services exactly to your individual needs. We visit Santa Fe approximately every 18 months, and we will always stay at Inn of the Governors. The location is perfect - right in the heart of Santa Fe and close to most everything downtown, and it's nice to have a good casual restaurant available in the hotel, in case you just want to chill out and stay close for your evening meal. It's a little oasis in Santa Fe.

Dear Larry C, Guests like you and your wife are one of the reasons why we all love our jobs so much. Our employees do have quite the longevity. Our longest tenured employees can count 40+ years and new folks like Mayra do a wonderful job of adding to our family atmosphere. Thank you for continued patronage and we look forward to welcoming you back next time! In health and prosperity, Sam Gerberding General Manager Inn of the Governors

This was our second stay at Inn if the Governors and it’s our go-to hotel when visiting beautiful Santa Fe. One main draw is the on site parking – this makes life so much easier than it must be in other downtown hotels. It’s got the perfect SW style and is the right mix of relaxing & upmarket with lots of different room types to choose from for differing budgets. We’ve usually opted for a deluxe fireplace room & have never been disappointed. The staff were very accommodating when we arrived early to check in saying they could call us as soon as the room was ready. Once we had checked in later, the room was large & comfy (decorated in the SW style with lots of nice touches that feel unique to the area). Ours had a large seating area & a fireplace (not that we needed it in June!) and we had a peaceful night’s sleep in the wonderfully large, spotlessly clean bed. No complaints at all about the room (other than a tiny niggle that the room we had this time around was in a different wing & the noise seemed to carry a bit further & was quite audible when other patrons were going to and from their rooms, but sometimes this is more about the noisy patrons than the hotel construction itself.) As most other patrons will tell you, they have a tea/sherry hour in the afternoon, which is a nice touch if you want to mingle with the guests or enjoy a tipple out by the pool or in the spacious lobby. You can see the hotel takes pride in it’s appearance with all the small details, and it’s very clean & comfortable throughout. The flowers are beautiful too if you visit at the right time of year! Other appealing features are the Del Charro Saloon for on-site bar food or excellent margaritas (and if you book direct with the hotel as we have always done, you get a credit for the saloon each day), and then there's the excellent ‘sunrise breakfast’ which is included in the stay – another draw for us, as it’s plentiful, good quality & served in the large restaurant rooms through the lobby. The location is also excellent, being just down the road from the main square and in walking distance to lots of things in the downtown area. All in all, I would recommend in a heartbeat and we look forward to another stay when next in Santa Fe!!

We loved our stay at the Inn of the Governors. Steps away from the Plaza and free HUGE breakfast buffet and afternoon tea, sherry and cookies. Pool is heated and there is a restaurant on site known for their margaritas! Rooms were clean and beds were comfy. Great southwestern décor! Excellent service from the staff as well.

Traveled to Santa Fe on family business. I REALLY like this hotel. They really try to make it a very comfortable and pleasant stay during the pandemic: wine and cheese and a huge EXCELLENT breakfast , both brought to your room and included in the very reasonable price. We ordered room service for dinner, and it was WONDERFUL. Very pleasant people at the desk. HOWEVER our air conditioning never worked and we were hot. We had a horrible nights sleep. Even with the fan we had to request and trying to keep windows open, we were very warm and stuffy all night. If we hadn't been so tired after driving all day, we probably would have requested another room. I would probably stay there again, but would ask about the the AC. And check it out before I unpack!!
