At the last minute in early March, we decided to travel stateside with our daughter during her college spring break instead of overseas. I googled "what is there to do in Santa Fe in March" and the top hit was the fabulous blog Walt & Wayne write covering everything from food (take a look at it to see the awesome Green Chili Souffle recipe that they graciously printed out for us), to art, to national parks . I decided, without even looking at other B&Bs or hotels, to stay with them during our vacation. It was one of the best decisions of the entire trip (that, and not traveling to and getting stuck in England during the COVID crisis). The owner, Walt, greeted us warmly, was our walking "trip advisor", and made sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast included main dishes featuring local ingredients, fresh fruit, and pastries along with an assortment of yogurts, cereal and oatmeal. Coffee, tea, waters and fruit were available all day, with fresh cookies in the afternoon. We spent days hiking in the many nearby parks. When in Santa Fe, we parked in the B&B lot and never had to move the car to do any sightseeing or shopping. We walked to dinner every night, strolled through the historic district and enjoyed the shops on Canyon Road. I noted other hotels and inns as we walked the town and never regretted choosing The Four Kachinas for our stay. Even before the country was shutting down, the innkeepers took care to clean surfaces in the eating area and around the inn constantly and each guest had plenty of space to relax and enjoy the grounds. The Four Kachinas or El Farolito will be at the top of our travel list when the country reopens safely. My thanks to them for the perfect vacation and my hope that they are safe and well.

With a plethora of choices in Santa Fe ranging from hotels to bed and breakfasts to air b&b’s, I spent a lot of time researching options before selecting The Four Kachinas...my 29 year old son and I decided on Santa Fe for a holiday sojourn and the room options available at this spot were perfect for us on many levels: comfort, tasteful decor, delicious breakfasts and cost. Walt, one of the innkeepers, in addition to being a gracious host, was a walking font of knowledge and southwestern lore. My son was thoroughly engaged in discussing various aspects of history, cuisine, culture and travel stories. Additionally, the inn is within easy walking distance of the Plaza, museums, restaurants (try La Boca...amazing!) and Canyon Road. I wholeheartedly recommend this delightful spot...and I look forward to returning and trying their sister inn, El Farolito.

I really appreciated the pleasure of meeting both Tommy and you and enjoyed hosting your recent stay. I also know the other of our guests who were at the inn at the same time enjoyed the mutual conversations that we had at breakfast time and travel tips that were exchanged. Your multiple day stay gave you plenty of time to experience the variety of visitor attractions that Santa Fe offers. I hope that you and your son will have another opportunity to visit Santa Fe, perhaps next time in a warm weather period when the outdoor sights are available for visiting.

Spent a very nice night at the Four Kachinas B&B. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was newly remodeled with a large walk in shower. Breakfast is scrumptious with a warm dish, as well as fruit and freshly baked sweet bread. Host is conscientious with cleaning and social distancing in this challenging time. We will stay here again.

As owning another Select Registry Inn we felt it was important to experience and learn from another Select Registry Property and it's owners. The rooms are beautifully decorated using many local and historically significant art. We enjoyed the food, they were very accomodating to our dietary restrictions...and deliciously so. The location is also good as it is an easy walk to the historic district within Santa Fe.

We really enjoyed the visit of your family. When hosting fellow innkeepers (especially Select Registry innkeepers) we are usually a bit apprehensive. Will our property meet the high standards that these fellow innkeepers strive for? I'm happy that you appreciated some of the positive attributes of our property and we certainly appreciated the "shop talk" we had. Thanks again for your visit and kind comments. All the best with your SR property with its restaurant.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Four Kachinas. Walt, one of the proprietors, is an excellent host. Walt works hard (but makes it look easy) to make his guests feel comfortable, appreciated, and well taken care of. And this attitude shows in the homemade breakfast that is served each morning—a very welcome change from the chain hotels—with a savory hot dish along with a delicious pastry or coffee cake, yogurt, cheeses, cereal and a lovely fresh fruit plate, coffee, and an assortment of Mighty Leaf teas ( this serious tea drinker was impressed and delighted). In addition, Walt is a walking, talking, knowledgable and friendly tour guide for all things Santa Fe. So helpful. Our room was well and tastefully appointed, very comfortable, and stocked with bathrobes, high end toiletries, and soft towels..a nice plus was an outdoor patio that we could access from our room. There was also a lovely courtyard outside our room and a refrigerator stocked with water that we could help ourself to anytime. The icing on this cake is that the Four Kachinas is in an excellent location—close to Canyon Rd., restaurants, shopping, and historical sights. Our only regret was that we wanted to stay one more night, but the Inn was completely full. We will be sure to book earlier the next time we visit, which we hope is soon.

We stayed at the inn for 4 nights with another couple and had a great time. The inn is run by Walt and Wayne and they are perfect hosts. Their restaurant suggestions were spot on plus they are very knowledgeable about the area. We looked forward to their breakfasts that always included home baked goods. Breakfast was served in a wonderful separate common area. We were able to use it in the evenings to socialize and play cards. They also have a refrigerator that guests are welcome to use. The inn is within walking distance of the plaza and there is a awesome neighborhood grocery store that has a great wine selection. The rooms are really nice, quiet and the bed is so comfy. We got to meet their doxies Hannah and Pretzel - so cute! We will stay there again when we visit Santa Feed.

We were a family group of seven and stayed in three rooms at Four Kachinas. The rooms were very comfortable and beautifully decorated. All three rooms opened onto a lovely little courtyard where we spent afternoons regrouping and relaxing after sightseeing around Santa Fe. Attached to the courtyard is the dining room where breakfast is served - you can choose to sit inside or outside for breakfast. Coffee, fresh baked goods, yogurt, cereals are all self-serve, and each table gets a generous plate of fresh fruit. A substantial hot dish is served individually - always delicious!
The inn is within easy walking distance of Santa Fe Plaza and Canyon Road. Walt was a gracious host and we would definitely stay here again!

Thanks for taking the time to post a review of your group's stay at our inn. We are thankful that you appreciated our efforts to highlight local art and handcrafted furnishings. Santa Fe's summer weather is perfect for outside dining and this is possible at both of our inns. Our central location makes visiting Santa Fe's sights a short walk away. This intimate inn is quiet, within easy walking distance of the Santa Fe Plaza, and is in a lovely neighborhood. My room was spotless, the furnishings were warm and inviting with the beloved Santa Fe rustic feel, while still being elegant. Walt, the owner and innkeeper, was friendly, helpful, and joy to visit with. He made sure everything was perfect. The breakfast was incredible - fresh fruit, asparagus frittata, YUM! The garden courtyard was quiet and intimate and a wonderful place to enjoy an outdoor meal. If I could give this inn more than 5 stars, I certainly would!

My sister and I stayed at Four Kachinas Inn last week and loved it! We were greeted upon arrival by Blanca who welcomed us in friendly fashion. Our room had two queen beds, a beautiful big bathroom and our own little patio. The location was quiet but within easy walking distance to the plaza and several of the restaurants we tried. The room, common patios and the breakfast area are bright, sunny, and decorated with vibrant art work. Our breakfasts included fresh fruit, yogurt and coffee but always included a delicious hot dish like eggs benedict, green chile souffle and waffles. There were freshly baked cookies for us in the afternoon. Everything is impeccably appointed and the staff is exceptional, but the highlight of our stay was Blanca who is warm, funny and charming and proof that one person can make a difference! We highly recommend staying here on your next trip to Santa Fe!

We spent 6 nights at this beautiful, quiet and well located bed and breakfast and did not want to leave. Our Zia room was one of the most comfortable rooms we have experienced and the owners and staff do their utmost to make sure that you enjoy your stay. As we were leaving for the airport, our rental car wouldn’t start. Walt, one of the Four Kachinas owners, drove us in his car so we wouldn’t miss our plane. His prompt and helpful response got us to the airport on time and was very appreciated. We loved Santa Fe and highly recommend Four Kachinas.

Yes there was ample free parking. There are over 350 restaurants in Santa Fe. Most are lively, but Wayne one of the proprietor's of the b&b Really knows what restaurant to recommend and if you want quiet he would be the one to help you. My guess is that the priciest restaurants might be the quietest.

Our Four Kachinas Inn is a 10 minute easy walk to the Plaza and about the same time to Canyon Road and the Railyard areas. We have a great location, quiet yet close to Santa Fe's sights, restaurants, shops, galleries and museums.

We have various options for you to consider for a group of four. Room 5 and 6 are located in a historic house that is a part of the inn. These 2 rooms share a separate living room that you could use. Another option is room 3 with two queen beds, although with 4 adults, this one room may be a bit crowded. You could also book 2 separate rooms, each with private bath. There is plenty to do in Santa Fe. See our web site and/or Tourism Santafe's website for details. You can get from the Albuquerque airport to our inn via shuttle, rental car or train. I recommend Sandia Shuttle if you do not want to rent a car. Our inn is centrally located and you can walk to numerous museums, restaurants, galleries and shops.
