If you blink, you might drive past this place- it's a small boutique hotel located in a building with several other businesses. Reminds me of some of the smaller hotels I've stayed in Chinatown in NYC. Room was very nice, large, bed was comfortable. Didn't care for parking set-up, but a good value for the money overall.

I called the hotel ahead of our arrival to ensure that it was pet friendly, as advertised, and to check on the associated fees. The attendant agreed to match a web price, and I explicitly clarified, twice, that it was for two people and our puppy, he agreed. Upon arrival at the hotel I was presented with a check-in document that was $20 over the quoted price. I told the attendant (same person that I had talked to earlier) that it wasn’t what we agreed on. He just stared at me. I repeated that the amount was more than our agreement he again just stared at me. At this point I started to doubt that this attendant was bright enough to handle the situation. I asked for a cancellation receipt and after yet another stare he, slowly, gave me one. We walked away. I was looking forward to our stay, but the staff is sadly not up to the service expected. I doubt that anything beyond a simple decision can be made. In a town full of alternative lodging I’d go elsewhere.

We love the convenience and quiet of this hotel. Just a block off the Santa Fe Plaza. Quiet, great rate and large rooms, especially the two bedroom suite that will save you at least $100 over other similar hotels.

The 2 bedroom Suite was beautifully appointed. Noise from the adjoining room and hallway could be heard through the walls. Not so nice at 5:30 am. Great location to the Plaza and nearby museums and restaurants. Parking was convenient for $10/day.

I’ve stayed a few places in Santa Fe previously—the Hotel Chimayó, La Posada, the Sage Inn—and had good experiences at all three. I chose the Luxx Boutique for this trip for one reason: it was the only hotel located downtown that offered a “two bedroom suite” at a great rate. I wanted a suite because my daughter and I were meeting up with two family members for a long weekend in SF, and a suite seemed ideal—space for all to come together, or retreat for sleep or downtime. Now, when I think “two bedroom suite,” I think “two bedrooms, plus bathrooms, with a separate common area.” Nothing about the hotel’s website description or photos disabused me of this notion; it suggested there would be two beds in each room, and while it may not have specified the separate bathrooms, the photos suggested each bedroom had a bathroom. Our family members, who arrived two days before my daughter and me, raved about all kinds of things here in Santa Fe, but notably not about the hotel. I saw why as soon as I got there: we opened the door to our “suite,” and I nearly tripped over the bed. The first bed filled the front half of the “suite,” with a mini fridge and microwave and one wooden chair occupying the rest of the space. Further in, a single bathroom separated the front bed from a second bed at the back of the unit. So two beds, one bathroom: this is not, by any reasonable definition, a suite. This is a double room, now occupied by FOUR women, sharing a single bathroom. This is in no way the experience I was after when I booked here, and if I’d known this was what we would get, I absolutely would have stuck with one of the hotels I already knew I enjoyed. In fact, I probably could’ve gotten two separate rooms, each with their own bathroom, for around the same price at the Sage Inn, which is super cute. In any event, the Luxx is an oddball kind of place, with a kind of Bates Motel vibe, that I’d probably appreciate a lot more if I didn’t have to go out to the lobby (which, btw, closes early and opens late) for a key to use the public bathroom down the hall anytime one of my family members is in the shower. The location is great, the room is clean and well kept-up, and I hear there’s a hot tub so I should probably go check it out and see how their definition of “hot tub” might differ from my own.... Honestly, the place is fine, I’m just really disappointed that we are all basically staying in a regular (if oddly configured) hotel room that is frankly not big enough to accommodate four women’s five day’s’ worth of gear.
