I was in NM for a conference and had an extra 24 hours there. I desperately needed a good rest, before returning to my very busy life at home. Someone told me about ten thousand waves, and I called. They actually had a special discount for last minute bookings, and an open room. Their check in times are a bit... More

Once upon a time, this place had tons of charm, tranquility and a telluric atmosphere. A place where many locals also enjoyed going for a treat in the great all wood sauna and jacuzzi, engaging in great conversation with great people... Recently, the owner made some very unattractive changes to the place: *the sauna lost the wood and it is... More

Gosh, Roberto, you gave us 1 star on every social media site that exists. They're all the same review, word for word. How 'bout a little variety? More

IF I could spend everyday for the rest of my life at the waves, lodging and services, I wouldn't have a single regret! Get a package deal! Spend as much time as you can there! I have only had one poor service with Daniella? An facial. Every other service I have ever had was sublime!

We're über-contented regular visitors to this elegant oasis in the high desert mountains, and that includes our dog's perspective. From the excellent staff who prepare for our arrival (doggie bed and treats), to the kind cleaning and grounds people (experts at their jobs), we're impeccably served. The house amenities are equal to the art and architecture: flowing spaces (a few... More

We stopped here last night on a road trip home. I have wanted to stay here for years but it's pricey so never did. Our room was $300 for one night. We had a fenced in yard, complimentary wood & fireplace, huge bathroom & shower, incredible bed & pillows, extra towels, blankets, pillows, nicely lit bar with fruits, coffee, tea,... More

Three of us enjoyed the spa for 2 days in a row. The communal pool is very warm and relaxing especially if you go in the evening under the stars. I strongly encourage you to enjoy massage. I had a fantastic massage by Phillip, he is a master. If you have time I would also suggest that you enjoy the... More

TonyBoy We're grateful for your appreciation! Sorry about the lack of sushi, but we're 1000 miles from the ocean and could never match on a regular basis the quality of the fish found in Japan, or NYC for that matter More

Real- the rooms are VERY NICE Japanese design with a modern twist, clean and nice. The massage as wonderful as well. Fake- it is NOT a hot spring! They take well water and heat it, like a bath tub. The pool is nice but I found the whole experience weird. And not very "green"! Sugary- the food was EXTREMELY sugary,... More

Thank you for your nice comments about our design and massage. We pride ourselves on being real. We don't advertise ourselves as having thermal water. All water in the tubs is from a 900 foot deep natural well which we heat to 104-106 degrees F. A little-known fact is that over 50% of the hot springs and public baths in... More

Ten Thousand Waves is considered one of the 10 best spas in the USA. When you stay in one of the on site properties you receive complimentary access to the communal tub and the women's tub. The saunas and cold plunge pools are also fantastic. Don't hesitate to stay here. It's not just a stay - it's a true experience.

Having visited the spa for years, my husband and I decided to stay a night at Ten Thousand Waves to take the relaxation to the next level. We were very pleased with the entire experience. When we arrived, were given a tour of our room (the beautiful Crescent Moon). We were able to pull right up to the courtyard entrance... More

I traveled to Ten Thousand Waves for a weekend of respite, and it did not disappoint. Suigetsu was more than I could have ever imagined - complete Zen environment with all the details. This boutique property is tucked away in the mountains just minutes from the square. Beautiful trees and wildflowers. I especially loved the private courtyard! It was a... More
