This was my first hostel stay. It was such a beautiful experience. We walked in and met Paul Hester at the desk. What a delight he was. Each day each one of us had a chore to do that took all of 10 minutes, at the most. We could eat anything in the fridge without a name on it and... More

Unfriendly staff. They gave me an attitude for absolutely no reason. I was "asked" to do chores which I am ok with. They did not really ask. They shouted it at me like I was their maid and then they supervised "my work" while I was cleaning. They made fun of me several times after that just to humiliate me.... More

I've stayed in dozens of hostels and this was one of the absolute best! The staff and owner are so welcoming and fun to chat with. The hostel gets a donation from Whole Foods once a week, so there is always TONS of free breads, yogurt, milk, fruits, pasta etc, etc. The facilities are old but decently maintained. Guests all... The price is great!!! It's not the Hilton, but if you want a historic Route 66 hostel that has a great social atmosphere, this is the place. I recommend staying for a few nights, as there is a lot to do in Santa Fe and surrounding area. Make sure to visit some of the local hiking trails and art museums.

We enjoyed our stay at this wonderful hostel. It's a non-profit hostel, so it doesn't cost much. In exchange, in the morning, you pick a little chore to give a hand. It doesn't take more than 5-10 minutes! They offer free food, and it's very good. It's not in the middle of Santa Fe, but it's a great experience with... More

I was going camping, but it was a rainy night so I decided to stay here. The room was kind of like a bunk house room but not terribly nice or clean. But heck, it was cheap. There is one somewhat unappealing part of the architecture. There are arches filled wrought iron in the hallway in front of the rooms... More

Loved the staff! They have great food which is free to use all day. It used to be a motel but they made it feel like a hostel. The hostel is in walking distance of pretty much everything (Santa Fe isn't that big anyway). You do have to do a chore in the morning. Personally I didn't mind that at... More

I stayed in the hostel with my three kids (ages 6,5, and 4) and it worked out perfectly. We had a private room and had to walk down an outside corridor to get to the bathroom but the kids were fine with it. The staff were amazing and so kind to my kids. I will definitely be staying here the... More

Great location on the main road in Santa Fè near most everything staff seem nice and friendly . The hostel is just old and run Down rooms are small and are not very clean the hostel was not very full - the best part was a very large kitchen that had everything you could ask for :: we only stayed... This hostel is unlike most in that it operates as a non-profit organization to encourage travel for the sake of education and cultural exchange. If you are looking for clean and predictable surroundings, this might not be for you. But, if you are looking for a cheap and eco-friendly option in Santa Fe, and you like the idea of meeting...
