Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder boasts a beautifully themed atmosphere that delights many guests, especially with its clean, spacious rooms featuring balconies and an inviting pool area. However, opinions on its location vary, and some travelers suggest that both rooms and certain amenities require updates. While the hotel's cleanliness generally earns praise, the value proposition is under scrutiny due to high costs paired with inconsistent service quality, notably at Starbucks and dining venues. Amenities receive mixed reviews, facing criticism for occasional closures but also appreciation for select facilities.

This trip was a nightmare and it’s still going. I was injured during my stay due to my soap dispenser in my shower. ( it was taped on to the shower wall) yes taped. It fell on my toe. They said they would refund my money in several emails. Now that are saying I will get nothing. WTH???????? HORRIBLE HOTEL. DESPICABLE GM DISGRACEFUL CORPORATION D O N T. S T A Y.

I really do not understand some of the reviews here. We stayed 2 nights at the Hilton near the Santa Fe Historic Square before moving here after taking a day trip to Taos. Plus, I was intrigued by the lovely photos of the pool online and wanted some sun time. Luckily, the pool had just opened the week before. I thought the pool was wonderful and the area was super clean and well-maintained. It isn't a huge pool, but it was resort-like to me. Upon arrival we were welcomed by great staff at the desk and were thanked for being a loyal Diamond member. As a result, we were also upgraded to a room with a kiva and balcony overlooking part of the golf course and mountains. Room was impeccable - not one thing to complain about here. We used our $30 HH credits for breakfast at Iguana Cafe. Best breakfast and service I've had in a long time. No, not everything is open, but there was more opened than expected per other reviews. As for the Casino, it is the cleanest I've ever been in. No smoking and almost all slots had safety dividers between them as a Covid precaution. It is huge and I felt like I was in Vegas here, but there were limited tables open and no craps table on the night we stayed. I can't recommend this place enough and would come back in a heartbeat. Eat at Gabriel's one exit south if you don't want to pay the prices at the Sage restaurant for dinner.

Specious hotel, friendly staff, excellent room! Limited restaurant hours, out in the middle of nowhere. Wish there was things to do and places to eat around the hotel. Our tour manager had to find a restaurant nearby that could accommodate 50 people.

This was for a conference. The resort is isolated from any local shops or stores. There was a Cafe and restaurant on site but with limited hours. A Starbucks. This is an older Hilton as seen from some of the furniture and bed in the room. However the room was very clean and comfortable enough. The bathrooms well lit and offering excellent amenities. safe, ample hot beverage supply, and mini refrigerator. Having the balcony was super fun to just relax outside, weather permitting. The hotel has been very intentional in incorporating native American culture.

Wow what a disappointing Hilton location. This location has no appreciation for Hilton Diamond members. We checked in and wern't thanked for being Diamond members. Told them we were and they said O you have some waters in your room. Got to the room and it overlooked air conditioning units. The mini fridge didn't work, Stayed on a Friday night and the hotel was quiet. Two of the 3 restaurants were closed. The one that we ate at was terrible. I would not stay at this Hilton again.

There was a dog convention happening in the hotel during our stay. 350 dogs staying in the hotel. There were dogs making noise all night on our floor and the front desk was rude to me when I expressed my discomfort. Another thing is this location is awful for traveling. It was about 20 minutes away from Santa Fe and there was no option for food delivery. After a long day of traveling to get there, our only option of food was a hot dog from the casino. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere so the hotel should have more option for food. We went to bed starving on our first night. We weren’t able to sleep well for both nights because of the dogs on our floor.

We stayed in a King Suite on the Spa side . Very quiet. The bed was comfortable and we had a huge bathroom . The only thing I would say, it’s a little outdated with all the carpet. We ate at the restaurant downstairs in the casino and the service was good and so was the food. The only bad service we had was at the Starbucks coffee place. The girl with the dark hair behind the counter should get another job. We even tipped her. I don’t know why we tipped her because we were the ones that had to put our food in the microwave. She just acted indifferent and unhappy . I think if you tip someone they should at least say thank you especially when they’re not serving you. I still would recommend this hotel just maybe get your coffee someplace else.

We spent one night at this property in our way from Taos to ABQ with a soaking day stop at the Ojo Caliente springs. Andres at check-in was friendly, efficient, and professional. We truly appreciated and enjoyed the Diamond-member room upgrade, and found the accommodations clean, comfortable, and inviting. Breakfast at the Iguana Cafe was delicious. Would definitely return in the future.

We stayed here one evening during our travels through New Mexico. Beautiful location and room. We had a king with a balcony and got to see the sunrise while drinking coffee. The room was modern and clean. The Turquoise Trail Bar had surprisingly good food. Casino was great with many options except table games. Despite people standing and waiting to play at the $10 blackjack table another comparable table was never opened. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return.
