Once again Tucker House went all out to give us the quiet and enjoyable experience we consistently have there. Incredible breakfast (chef's choice) delivered to our suite each morning, wonderful interaction with staff for questions and lovely accommodations within walking distance of shops and restaurants. It's why this is our favorite place to stay whenever we visit Friday Harbor.

Mixed feelings about this stay. Due to Covid, typical B&B offerings were not available. Check in was online and no host was present to ask questions or recommendations. When I texted, I didn't get a response. Email was answered though. Felt someone could have been in the parlor for these things and still kept social distance. Again, due to Covid, instead of dining with others, breakfast was delivered in a basket to your door each morning. The food was delicious and plentiful and what I would have expected from a B&B. But plates were not included, and there is no table in your room, so you had to eat off your lap. Croissants were extremely flakey (and therefore messy). Same goes for the bagels with poppy seeds galore. We ordered a grab and go breakfast one day and it was great. Quiche, yogurt, granola, hard boiled egg, and more. Room was nice, bed was comfortable but window faced right on the street so very noisy. A lot of ferry truck traffic routed this way. Jacuzzi tub was huge but had quiet hours since the motor was loud. Bathroom sink didn't have a stopper for the drain which made it difficult for shaving and washing up in the evening. Remote for the tv worked intermittently. After arriving found out outdoor hot tub was now listed as private and could not be used. They did have bikes to borrow but they were all to big for an average adult female. Kayaks were available too, which we used and had a great time. We were charged for something that appeared to be complimentary and after calling about it charge was removed immediately. Tucker House is so close to the ferry terminal you can walk. I would give this place a second chance as I think the somewhat negative things would not have been an issue if not for Covid. To have to text or email for simple questions made me feel like I was bothering someone. To just stop by the parlor for inquiries would have been easier and more comfortable.

Stephanie, Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to share about your stay. Our team has worked tirelessly to implement new protocols for the safety and comfort of our guests and our team. Many of these new procedures have changed the face of hospitality. Our reception center is attended virtually. Our team is just a phone call or email away and are always happy to answer questions or assist to make your stay more enjoyable. You did meet Patrick who helped with your television and with kayaking gear. We revamped our communal breakfast service to be responsive to the best practices regarding physical distancing. Our guests love our new pivot as they feel so pampered with room service each morning. While our team is a bit more distant than usual, they are still behind the scenes taking care of concierge requests, preparing breakfast, and ensuring all the littles touches are in place for a memorable stay. We do hope to have you back when our hospitality will be more personal. Just a note that repeat guests enjoy a 15% discount anytime of year. Stay well and safe and we look forward to having you back. With kind regards, Anna Maria and the entire San Juan Island Inn Collection Team

If you’re lucky enough to find an open room during your travel dates, don’t hesitate to book your Friday Harbor accommodations at Tucker House. You will not regret it!

This was our second stay at the Inn and it was just as memorable as the first time. Firstly, you can’t beat the convenience of the location, walkable to many local restaurants, shops and the ferry only a couple blocks away. Even with the close proximity to town, the grounds feel very secluded from the tourist hustle and bustle.

The friendly team at Tucker House makes you feel at home even before check in, with great communication and ease of booking. Our favorite amenity is the included breakfast which was left at our door each morning and full of delicious, local goodies. Not your average continental offering, that’s for sure! Susan was even kind enough to arrange for a “to go” option for us when we had to check out early to catch our ferry back home. Thank you, Susan, Glen, and team!

The cozy rooms have so much character and promote authentic “island vibes”. So much thoughtfulness has gone into the details and it makes you feel like you are staying with family. Both rooms we stayed in were immaculately clean and had all the amenities we could ever need, including coffee, tea, and snacks that were replenished daily.

I could go on, but I’ll just say that we are already planning our return trip! Thanks again for a great weekend getaway.

We and another couple stayed at the Tucker House Inn and all of us enjoyed our rooms and the amenities. They have off street parking which is a plus and the location is perfect for walking to shops and restaurants in town. Breakfast is included and is either delivered to your room or served in their dining room. We had a bit of a problem the first day as we didn't hear the knock on the door so no food was delivered until I complained about it. From then on, we walked to the dining room. I have some dietary restrictions and one morning I couldn't eat the baked dish. I asked if I could just get the eggs and ham and that is what I was served. The same small portion as everyone else at the table that also got the baked dish. Pretty cheap. They did give us breakfast to take with us on the ferry as we were leaving early. Once we got on the ferry and I opened my food, it was loaded with the things I cannot eat. Really petty. Recommended with reservations.

We’re happy to hear that our inn amenities and location, just blocks from the ferry landing, shops, and restaurants, served you all so well during your stay. However, we are so sorry to read that our daily breakfast – the housemade granola, fresh fruit, housemade Greek yogurt, and a hot entrée that’s so often a highlight of our guests’ stay with us -- did not meet your expectations. Our breakfast chef is pleased to accommodate dietary restrictions and requests, and we regret that we did not meet the bar here for you. If you wish to stay with us again during a future visit, it would be our pleasure to discuss these needs in greater depth and make sure that you call fully enjoy your meals with us.

This is a first stay at a B&B and first visit to Friday Harbor and this was perfect! So to be vurnable a little here, I have been quite nervous about statying at B&B's in general we are both pretty quite people and stick to ourselves. We recieved a gift certificate to Washington B&B Guild after reviewing the properties and wanting to go someplace we have never been, we picked Tucker House because it had separate cottages but still on the same property, seemed perfect to dip our toes in and it was!
We stayed in the Middleton Suite which was so cute and very very comfortable, it was like a home away from home feel with everything you may need at the ready.
We were staying here for our anniversary, which was still within covid times so all communication was through email. Communication was very clear and concise for instructions on how to get there, how to order breakfast, where to find your room how they are doing check in and offerings to help book things. There was also a lovely email wishing us a happy anniversary and a gift in the fridge for us (we did leave it behind hoping that someone else may have a greater appreciation for it, but we really loved the sentiment of it!).
I really loved they found away around during the trying times of covid to still provide a breakfast. It was lovely to sit with the door open each morning and have little baskets dropped off at the door and a friendly good morning greeting. The food was very good, we both really enjoyed the yogurt granola cups! The yogurt was very pleasantly mild which we both greatly appreciated with fresh fruit and very flavorful and filling granola topping. One morning the cups came with watermelon in them, we both though this was an interesting combination, but it seriously worked together, loved it!
Also loved the homemade hand soap in the bathroom!
We went on a long bike ride on the island and after we came back tired and wanting to rest, it was so nice down on main deck there was live music provided by one of the owners. To lay and rest in the room and just enjoy the music was lovely.
Couple things to share just for people who read reviews, that I didn't pick up on but not a criticism in any way.
Middleton Suite is a separate unit but it is a ground floor unit so there are two units above. So you may have people above you that haven't lived above others before.
Also the unit is not air conditioned and we are having an unusally hot summer, but they did provide a little fan in the room, they also have all the windows open upon arrival.
Oh and just be warned but not concerned about, in the kitchen I believe there is a pump to pump the drain water up to sewage level, it can be loud and startling. It doesn't effect anything other than if you have someone resting you may want to avoid using that sink, but again not a big deal.
The biggest and happiest thing is the Tucker house is just a couple short blocks from downtown Friday Harbor, we parked our car when we arrived and walked the rest of the time until we ended our stay. Seriously wonderful how close it is, but be prepared for hills
I would definitely recommend staying here and hope to stay here in no covid times to experience it at it full splender.

Thank you so much for this deep and thoughtful review of your stay with us in Friday Harbor! It was our pleasure to host you during your anniversary trip and so lovely to hear that our inn was your introduction to the world of bed & breakfasts. We hope this was the first of many visits! We love nothing more than for our guests to feel like family and it sounds like we hit that mark for you. It was great to read how much you enjoyed our hot delivered breakfasts and walkable location and that our self-check-in process worked well for you. We’re enjoying having small moments of community with our guests again, such as our outdoor music nights, and we look forward to welcoming you back!

My husband and I stayed with our two (adult) daughters in the Garden Room Cottage at The Tucker House. The place was perfect for the four of us, with two separate bedrooms and two bathrooms, and a wonderful sunroom for card games in the evening. Anna Maria and her team have clearly worked hard to navigate COVID realities while still providing genuine hospitality to their guests. We had easy contact with them via text, phone, or through their website and they were always helpful answering questions, providing suggestions and with breakfast orders (we had some vegetarians/peanut allergies in our group that they easily accommodated). The cottage was clean, roomy, and charming. The proximity to the ferry and downtown Friday Harbor was wonderful. Oh! And they're very dog friendly, welcoming us with doggie dishes, towels, and even a doggie cupcake. The Tucker/Harrison House buildings are right across the street from a park, plus they have their own "dog run" on the property, so it is definitely a good place for Fido. We will happily stay here again the next time we visit the beautiful San Juans.

My husband and I spent two (short) nights in the Four Winds Suite. We bought the “Pampering Package” which includes a couples massage at Lavendra Massage and a $50 voucher at Choi’s restaurant.

The king bed was so comfortable I slept until morning without stirring. The little patio was a perfect spot to rest with the afternoon sun on my face after a bike ride to Roche Harbor. The outstanding breakfast was delivered in a wire basket each morning. Sweet snacks were delivered in the afternoon. Our dietary needs were met and exceeded our expectations!

The complimentary bicycles are of good quality. There are also complimentary kayaks for use but we simply ran out of time.

The Tucker House has thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and safe. The entire property is so very clean. We will definitely recommend the Tucker House.

We stayed here for four nights as we were going to a family wedding in the area. We loved our stay here in the Castle Wall room.

First of all, the mattress. My husband has a bad back, so this is always our first consideration. They were willing to take the feather topper off for us as my husband cannot tolerate anything soft. The mattress was then nice and firm and very comfortable for both of us. The pillows were fluffy and comfortable.

We could very easily adjust the temperature in the room with our own thermostat.

The breakfasts here were fabulous! Different every day, gourmet style and definitely not typical hotel fare. An egg on hash browns, breakfast tacos, breakfast burritos and always we could select a granola and fruit yogurt parfait which was delicious and hearty with plenty of nuts in addition to homemade granola. We also loved having a French press for coffee.

The breakfasts came in bento boxes, glass jars and were accompanied by cloth napkins and real silverware. This was close to zero waste. We appreciated being in a room with glass cups and a real wood bed frame.

Glenn and Susan were wonderful hosts and made excellent suggestions for area activities!

Decided last minute to take the ferry in the evening
rather than the next morning for a quick jaunt around
the island and booked a single night at Tucker house in
the Shaw Suite. I experienced great communication
with the staff regarding check in, and they even called in
the afternoon the day before to check about dietary
restrictions and to direct me to place our breakfast
order. Our suite was pet friendly and when we arrived
in the evening the office was closed but there were
snacks out for us (including a delicious gluten free
scone for me) and even a pup muffin for our furry
companion. They also had a food and water bowel out
with drip towels to make here feel at home. The room
had a full kitchen (though I didn't notice if there was an
oven) and many nice touches such as a couple of nice
robes and a bottle of milk and OJ in the fridge. There
were plenty of towels and extra blankets in this studio
apartment sized room, and a dining table with four
chairs. Rather than a couch there is a day bed with
trundle for extra guests, along with the queen size bed
which was comfy, had amazing sheets. The bathroom
was small with a shower, but well appointed and with
great water pressure! We didn't use the jacuzzi or log
into the wifi, so I can't speak to that, but an amazing
gourmet breakfast was delivered to our door including
an equally delicious gluten free version. 12/10 would
recommend this homey, lovely little place!

Hi Jill, We are happy you decided at the last minute, to take the evening ferry and spend some time at our Inn. Knowing you had a marvelous time and allowing us to pamper your entire family, makes our team feel wonderful. We are glad your pup had a fun time and got to taste our homemade pup cakes. They are so good; humans sometimes devour them before their pet even smells or sees them! The Shaw Suite, with its nautical theme, is perfect for a small family and a pet. The trundle beds are very comfy, especially for one or two children. I will certainly pass on to our team your wonderful review and thank you very much for taking the time to write and post it. We do look forward to your return.

Shaw cottage with 4 over 70 years old adults was the perfect solution.

Easy up hill access to the ferry, loved the parking lot entrance short cut to the entrance instead of climbing the hill all the way and yet the lovely little patio and surrounding trees still make you feel like you’re not on the road.
No steps ground floor but safe.

The bathroom plumbing was very up-to-date great shower effective toilet nothing old here in the kitchen was also remodeled and contains all we needed.

I loved all the natural light and yet you felt like you could leave the blinds open because of the patio and green space.

Perfect amount of in person text and email contacts from the management making sure you were OK.

Great breakfast and they even packed to go breakfast to leave early for the ferry the next day.

Could’ve used a full-size mirror on the wall somewhere since you are sharing a bathroom but it was nice to have an extra sink in the kitchen for brushing teeth etc. You only get two keys but we made that work.

Relatively quiet location although close to town, no noise from town but you could hear the ferry announcements if you have the windows open which we enjoyed since the weather was perfect.
