Stayed in the Captain's room (2nd floor) for one night with my son prior to a kayaking trip. Our hosts were great, available for questions, welcoming. (Yes, Greg is kind of gruff, but there's a sweet-spot there for sure. Naomi is a lovely, lovely hostess.) Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and snacks available all day. Big deck and patios for... We spent two nights at this B&B. It appeared very clean, but both of the lower level bedrooms had a very bad smell and the carpet felt wet on bare feet. The breakfast was good, but nothing spectacular.. Naomi was very pleasant and helpful, Greg was a little more harsh. Our biggest issue was accessibility..we specifically told them we had... More

Ask when we called if there were stairs and was told "a couple " well there were 8 or 9 just to front door, then we step in and much to our surprise it's a spit level! Our room was down about 6 stairs , then to get to upstairs for breakfast another 6-8 stairs. They need to advertise NOT... More

B&B is very out of the way if walking. Calling was no good as he didn't seem to be able to give good directions and sent us the wrong way. Gave us cards for cab companies for night time rides but they weren't open. No offer of help whatsoever. Was not friendly although she was the next morning. He needs... More

We stayed here for a 2 day visit. Pros- close to town, good breakfast, nice snacks available through your day, wife is very pleasant, helpful local menus and maps around for use. Cons- close to town but we still found it more convenient to drive, Greg- the owner is not super welcoming, lower floors bedrooms you can hear every footstep... More

Stayed four nights. I enjoyed this nice clean B&B with a different special treat for breakfast each day. Lavender Pancakes, green chile soufflé, creamy cheese polenta, were served on different days. Greg's Granola available daily and for sell too. Good location, very easy walk to harbor and ferry. May want to taxi if lots of luggage. Proprieters had great knowledge... More

The Hillside House is a lovely place with a lovely outside deck and view. Room was well appointed with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was filling and tasty. However got off on the wrong foot with the owner. As a 68 y/o woman who travels extensively I am pretty independent. However I've never had an able proprietor watch me struggle with... More

We only stayed at Hillside House for one night before a multi-day kayak trip but it was a great stay! We really enjoyed having some wine on the front porch with views of the harbor and loved that you could walk into town easily. Greg is a great cook and graciously made us a wonderful breakfast before we headed out... More

This was our first time staying in a true B&B with the owners that actually live there. The home was beautiful! Service was great - Gary was an exceptional cook and whipped up a delicious breakfast with local food and ingredients. Their cookies were to die for! Our room was under construction so we got bumped up to the Eagles... More

Our hosts were gracious and helpful, but not too overbearing. My husband and I aren't used to staying at a B&B but found Greg and Naomi the perfect hosts! Close to town, close to everything. Most comfortable bed and the bathtub- A-MAZING. Especially after a soaked whale watch, we crashed every night we were so exhausted. Breakfast was delightful and... More
