First time in Friday Harbor and if we were to come back, we would absolutely stay here without even bothering to look at other options. The rooms are immaculate, there is everything you could possibly need and the people who work there are the nicest! We were doing an overnight kayak trip and they were so accommodating to let us... Stayed here for two nights, after a holiday weekend we arrived on a tuesday. There's self check in, which is fine, but for us the locks with codes took some trying for never having encountered such a system. Would have been helpful if there would have been someone from management if we had questions about the wayfarers rest or the... More

We chose to stay at Wayfarer's Rest because we were able to get a room for three at a very reasonable price. Lodging on San Juan can get pricey fast, so hostels are great. We stayed in the boat house, which was pretty unique. The bunk in the boat part (a twin) has very limited head room, but the double... More

We arrived on the Monday after a holiday weekend, so with the exception of one other traveler, we had the entire place to ourselves. We arrived before check-in, so the room was still being cleaned (after a hectic weekend, I'm sure), but the manager was kind enough to let us drop off our luggage, use the restroom, and get signed... This accommodation was affordable, comfortable and had everything we needed. The bed was very squeaky but that was the worst thing. Easy to walk to and from town. Fresh eggs for breakfast were lovely. Would stay here again.

Friday Harbor lodging is very expensive during the season. We found Wayfarer's Rest from a list given to us by our Kayak Tour company. Wayfarer's Rest is basically a house and a couple of neighboring houses converted into guest rooms - some with private baths and some with shared - just like your own home. It is definitely a family... More

This is my idea of heaven! Great spot! Next time I'd like to stay in the boat/cabin. Peaceful and funky! I never met the owner, but other people staying there were friendly. No frills, but if you like funky and don't mind walking through the yard to get to the bathroom, this is the right place for you!

For the budget minded. No frills here, but I didn't need a mint on my pillow or a towel animal on my bed. Within walking distance to town. Located on a quiet side street. Rooms and common areas are clean. If you want to cook your own meals, kitchen areas are equipped with all the pots, pans, dishes and appliances... More

Stayed with 2 college friends in a private 3 person room. The prices were good and location great. Our beds were comfy. Our one complaint was that there seemed to be a need to pay for showers. We did not know that going in so were disappointed. Also you had to pay for towels which wasn't made clear. Wifi was... More

I've been staying at the Wayfarer's Rest for more than 10 years. It's within walking distance to town on a quiet side street. Andrea, the owner, is such a nice person and always makes me feel welcome. There are 2 kitchens which is so nice so that I can cook my own healthy meals. Andrea keeps the place very clean.... More
