We visited as an anniversary get away in March. Great historical preservation. Superb personal service. Great food at restaurants. Room was spotless and charming. No in room TV was actually a plus! So tired of talking heads. Beautiful setting and environment. We give it a 5 out of 5 in every category.

Hotel's Favorite
We have been to the island many times, but always rented a house. The house we usually rent had a mid week rental only so we stayed at the Hotel De Haro for three days as it was close to the house we were renting as well as the whale watch trips we had scheduled. We rented two rooms, both with the bathrooms. Keep in mind this is a historic hotel, so tight stairways, etc. Also no tvs, etc (I loved that!). We were out on the balcony every night, loved the super plush beds. Our lights didn't work properly in the bathroom and the sink had a problem, but no biggie. It was a bit pricey, but it is historic and a tourist destination so if if is during high season expect to pay more. The view was incredible. The staff was so friendly, loved the fruit infused water in the lobby, our crew probably drank over a gallon by ourselves. The couple that was with us was my son and his wife. He proposed to her at the Afterglow Mausoleum a few years ago and got married last year. We had special dinner that night and she commented on how she would love to stay in the hotel. Unbeknownst to her her was going to propose in less than an hour. So this was very special for them! Loved evening walks to the gardens, docks, church and a re-visit to the Mausoleum. Only thing was a better sign to check in from the road, we went the wrong way...twice lol!

lscordis, Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to host you and your family in the Hotel De Haro and for your kind words! There's nothing better than relaxing on the balcony and taking in the sunset over the marina. We are pleased you enjoyed your time in the De Haro as well; it is a historic building but that's what makes it so special. If you are looking to stay with us again we have many other accommodation types which may suit your needs as well ranging from luxury suites to condos & cottages. Thank you again and we look forward to hosting you again in the future!

After finally finding this place in the rain we parked and went into the hotel. We would have stayed at the hotel but the only rooms available when we booked the trip were rooms with shared washrooms, so we stayed in Friday Harbor. The front desk people are very nice and there's a comfortable but small fireplace lounge area. The gift shop had some very nice items for sale. We didn't visit the other shops in the harbor area due to the rain.

Absolutely an important trip for all travelers. Great location, great ambiance, great small town friendliness. This location is a must for all Pacific Northwest travelers. Pick a spot to stay, but avoid VRBO since they tend to dismiss your compliance with their request for a site damages list and ignore malfunctions within the accommodation.

My fiancé and I initially made the reservation to look at the wedding venue. The date we wanted was already taken but we decided to still go because we love adventures and read about the Mausoleum there. We booked a room at Hotel de Haro but was upgraded to the Quarryman Hall. I was a bit disappointed as we wanted to stay at the main hotel but went ahead and stayed at the Quarryman. I have read reviews of people complaining about the main hotel being old, rundown, lopsided or lacking the features of a newer hotel but that is why we wanted to stay at the main hotel, to experience the vintage hotel feel and see the time in it's walls. You want new, shiny and fancy then don't stay at a historic hotel then complain. Terry and Marina at the front desk were both very helpful, friendly and made us feel welcome! There was a male at the front desk who was just as friendly and helpful but unfortunately, I didn't get his name. Every part of the resort filled me with little girl happiness. I enjoyed every part of our stay and I was sad our time there was so short. From the accommodations, the surrounding grounds to the trip to the Mausoleum, everything was wonderful! If I had one recommendation, it would be to stay with the vintage theme down to the small detail because as we walked by a window of the cottage and I saw a square lampshade which took away from that old historic feeling. Oh and maybe the older man at the company could smile a little. 😊 We will definitely stay here again! Thank you!
