Ready, set, slowâ„¢ Our boutique hotel is the closest to the ferry and harbor, yet so far away from ordinary. The right pace at the right time; The Island Inn at 123 West is as green as it gets. Dress us up or dress us down. You'll dig our contemporary style that nods to maritime gone by. Penthouses are fun for families, groups and splurges. They're big and nicely appointed with kitchens and plenty of elbow room. Sweets are as close to 'normal' hotel rooms as we'll get. Euros are small no-view sleeping rooms for guests 16 and up. All offer access to a shared living space Make a splash in a floatplane, slip in on the ferry or chart your own course. Get here and go with the slow. We're a partner of Stash Hotel rewards. That means you'll earn and redeem points at swanky places like the Island Inn and over 150 locations across the country. Reap while you sleep. Go with a different kind of Friday Harbor Hotel.

Love the Island Inn. The perfect location downtown Friday Harbor. It's located just off the ferry dock so you don't have to drive your car on BUT if you chose to drive on they have secure underground parking.
The room was perfect. They offer fresh fruit, granola, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, milk and oj all in room and at no charge.
They have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, lotion and makeup wipes in the restroom.
The staff was so very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back to stay here again.

First, I enjoy their play on words. It is deliberate and very cleaver. We stayed here for a short weekend get away. A post self isolating Covid days as things begin to reopen doors again.
We booked on line and the entire process from booking through check out was very impressive, clean and friendly. They stayed in contact with me via email for updates on their Covid safe check in process and general information about our short stay. They even created a few very informative and cleaver videos to convey this process.
We booked Sweet 1 (example of play on words). It was just perfect for us and had harbor front views. They do have several different room types. They have "Euro" rooms that share a common living area and kitchen, with a number of individual rooms connected that have its own sitting space and bathrooms. This would be good for a group of people that want to connect in the shared common space and then go off to your own rooms.
Sweet 1 was full of interesting design elements. The bed linens...OMG awesome! I usually NEVER ever like hotel sheets even if it's the Four Seasons. I love my bamboo sheets which are like sleeping on uber soft 1000 thread count. It's literally all I have in my house. But these bed linens are so nice I found out what they were and purchased two sets on line before even checking out of the hotel.
The location is walking distance to the ferry terminal. So if you don't want to take your car it is very easy to get around town on foot to some very good entries and shopping. If you want excellent breakfast go to Rocky Bay next to the theater. Yes, walking distance.
However, we loved having our car because we spend most of one day driving completely around the island stopping at all the points of interests we could take in.
I highly recommend Island Inn 123!!!
Thank you to the entire staff there for being so helpful and kind! Kwan
PS; If you take your car you should reserve parking space in the Inn's parking garage. They don't have a lot of spaces but if you reserve one you are guaranteed parking when you want it.

Two couples spent two nights at the Island Inn at 123 West in mid-December. It was wonderful. The hotel is contemporary but still has a warm "homey" feel. The staff is very friendly and we had access to a "great room" to play instruments and share some beverages.Tthe location is within easy walking distance of a host of taverns and restaurants. I highly recommend.

Spent 5 days in one of the penthouses, and it was the ideal home base for a local getaway. It’s a challenge these days to be responsible in doing our part in limiting the spread of coronavirus, yet also supporting local businesses and economies, yet also findings ways to maintain one’s mental health with much-needed vacations. We will all be trying to navigate this for the next few years, and I think Island Inn has done quite well. The penthouse was sparkling clean, and social distancing was taken very seriously by staff and guests. We brought our own groceries, and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and some thoughtful touches like oatmeal, milk and fruit. Several surrounding restaurants are offering take-out, and some places are even open for dine-in (at a reduced capacity, or just outdoor seating). From the Inn, it was an easy jaunt by ferry (the landing is almost on the Inn’s doorstep) or car to more isolated places to hike, bike, and rejuvenate the mind. I would highly recommend the Island Inn at 123 West for a conscientious and comfortable stay.

Over 48 hours in January, a succession of sun, wind, rain and more sun can pass through Friday Harbor. An Island Inn room with a view of the harbor is a comfortable, cozy place to watch it all. The granola, fruit, and juice were much appreciated as was everything about the cleanliness and presentation.

We are returning guests.
We stayed 5 days the end of April, used it as a base for exploring the San Juan islands by tandem bike via the inter-island ferry.
The inn is in a great location, is just a super short walk from the ferry dock.
We stayed in Penthouse 6, it is a really nice space, from the well stocked full kitchen to living room with a very warm gas fireplace to the good-size comfortable bedroom. Plus there is a set of laundry machines and favorite of all is the rooftop deck overlooking the harbor. After a day of cycling, it was a great spot to relax, have evening drinks/dinner while watching the boat traffic in the harbor.
This has been a great place to stay prior to and during the pandemic, it is super clean, there is little to no cross traffic with others on the property. The staff is friendly and helpful.
We’ll be looking forward to the next time we can return for another stay at the Island Inn!

We were lucky enough to stay in Penthouse 2 which has a gorgeous panoramic view of the harbor, including the ferries, PLUS a rooftop deck with a cute table and chairs. During our baby's naptime, we just sat and watched the ferries go in and out; our 7 year old loved it. The room was clean, modern, spacious, with high ceilings and limited but classy decoration. The best thing, though, was the customer service. The front desk crew helped us with bags, restaurants and even helped us order a pizza as we were coming in on a late ferry! We can't wait to come back again.

There are many things to like about this hotel. The location is excellent and right downtown. An easy 50-yard walk from the ferry. The view is amazing (Penthouse 1) and the staff very friendly and super responsive (thanks Theo!). Theo and the hotel staff were extremely responsive and they use text (you need to opt-in) to correspond directly with guests. This may sound strange, but it turned out to be a great feature and they always responded within minutes (if not sooner). Whatever request we had was resolved immediately. A+ service!
We had a view suite that was very large and comfortable. The room was quiet and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Parking is available on-site for an extra fee (recommended as the local parking limits are strictly enforced.) We stayed in Penthouse 1, which is a split suite with the (only) bedroom upstairs. This will be a problem if you have mobility issues. Many restaurants are nearby within walking distance. The marina dock, close to the hotel, is well used and very scenic. Many rooms have private outdoor patios to enjoy the view of this beautiful location.

This was our 6th stay at The Island Inn and we are already planning our next. This property is among the best we have stayed at during any of our travels over the years. The location is A+, just off the ferry and in the heart of Friday Harbor. The facilities (we always rent a pet friendly penthouse) are stylish, well appointed, and perfect in every way. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive - we've gotten used to seeing the same faces over the past few years which is another reason it feels like home away from home. This was our first time visiting since the COVID pandemic impacted traveling and we could not be happier with how the check-in\out process was handled in addition to the cleanliness and offers to help along the way. If you are headed to Friday Harbor, stay at the Island Inn!

Wonderful weekend getaway! This is a beautiful, clean, modern hotel overlooking the Friday Harbor marina. We could see the ferries coming and going from our room (Sweet 1) and also saw the 4th of July Fireworks! The room was beautiful and roomy and the bed was very comfortable. We watched Netflix with our account through the DVD player. The coffee, granola, milk and fruit were a great way to start the morning. We rented a smart car on the island and parked the garage which was convenient. Theo, the manager checked us in, carried our luggage, and made sure we had everything we needed, and Monique made sure we had fresh towels, breakfast supplies, and ice. They were both excellent! We will definitely be back and Friday Harbor and San Juan Island are just gorgeous!

Sorry - I just saw your response. Sea-Tac is the closest international airport, then there are some ferries from Seattle or a drive to Anacortes then take the ferries from there.
They tool luggage up!
Hello BarbaraLee,
Thanks for asking! On-site parking for vehicles under 7'2" tall and less than 18' long is limited to our parking garage. Parking in the garage, just like our guestrooms, is available by first-come, first-served paid reservation. Garage parking ranges from $15 - $19/car/night depending on the season.
Because we have fewer parking spots than we do rooms, we ask that you let us know as soon as you can if you'd like to include parking as part of your experience with us as we may be unable to honor requests for garage parking upon arrival without knowing ahead of time.
Outside of garage parking, there is street parking surrounding the hotel. However, street parking is monitored for a two hour limit 8am – 5pm everyday but Sunday and it’s sometimes tricky to find a spot during busy periods!
We sure hope this helps and look forward to welcoming you!
All the best,
The Island Inn Experience Ambassadors
