Ready, set, slow™ Our boutique hotel is the closest to the ferry and harbor, yet so far away from ordinary. The right pace at the right time; The Island Inn at 123 West is as green as it gets. Dress us up or dress us down. You'll dig our contemporary style that nods to maritime gone by. Penthouses are fun for families, groups and splurges. They're big and nicely appointed with kitchens and plenty of elbow room. Sweets are as close to 'normal' hotel rooms as we'll get. Euros are small no-view sleeping rooms for guests 16 and up. All offer access to a shared living space Make a splash in a floatplane, slip in on the ferry or chart your own course. Get here and go with the slow. We're a partner of Stash Hotel rewards. That means you'll earn and redeem points at swanky places like the Island Inn and over 150 locations across the country. Reap while you sleep. Go with a different kind of Friday Harbor Hotel.

We visited this wonderful property for a long leisure weekend. The Island Inn at 123 West is a 2 minute walk from the ferry. It sits on the hill so every room has a bit of a view of the bay. Super modern if you're into that. And very comfortable. Safe parking included. Matthew was so kind and helpful. Highly recommend this property and I will return.

Hotel's Favorite
Spent 5 days in one of the penthouses, and it was the ideal home base for a local getaway. It’s a challenge these days to be responsible in doing our part in limiting the spread of coronavirus, yet also supporting local businesses and economies, yet also findings ways to maintain one’s mental health with much-needed vacations. We will all be trying to navigate this for the next few years, and I think Island Inn has done quite well. The penthouse was sparkling clean, and social distancing was taken very seriously by staff and guests. We brought our own groceries, and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and some thoughtful touches like oatmeal, milk and fruit. Several surrounding restaurants are offering take-out, and some places are even open for dine-in (at a reduced capacity, or just outdoor seating). From the Inn, it was an easy jaunt by ferry (the landing is almost on the Inn’s doorstep) or car to more isolated places to hike, bike, and rejuvenate the mind. I would highly recommend the Island Inn at 123 West for a conscientious and comfortable stay.

We love coming her with our new pup. We feel so welcome. Location and service cannot be beat. We have stayed in pentouse 4 twice now and penthouse 1. You need to arrange for parking separate and it’s worth it. A few hundred feet from the ferry dock.

This place is absolutely one of the best hotels we have ever been to. The hotel is even more lovely than in the pictures on the website. We spent there over the weekend, and we enjoyed our stay very much! The location is fantastic, very close to the Ferry terminal, restaurants, attractions, and the main street. The beds were comfortable and clean. We had a beautiful view from the rooms. This place is highly recommended!

My husband & I had initially planned to stay at a quiet B & B in Snug Harbor. But once the pandemic hit, we quickly realized that staying at a B & B would not accommodate the Covid-19 protocols to insure safe health. We quickly went back to the drawing board & searched for more safe accommodations. The Island Inn at 123 West was the perfect choice. We selected Penthouse 6 with it's own stairs & roof-top terrace. We wanted to avoid elevators. Now, as a word of caution...there are many steps....so you need to be fit. The Island Inn was conveniently close to the ferry, which is running late during this pandemic. Sometimes up to 1.5 hours late. We parked our car in the queue an hour before the scheduled departure and waited in our room until the actual departure time. We had initially been given misinformation about the need to make a reservation for our return ferry ride to Anacortes. My husband stopped by the front desk to confirm that information. Much to our surprise & delight, Theo called us within an hour and alerted us to a cancellation that had just occurred which allowed us to return to the mainland as we had initially planned. The staff (Theo & Mayra) were in constant communication ensuring us a wonderful visit. Due to Covid-19, we declined housekeeping services. Our penthouse was well-appointed & spacious. The kitchen had all the amenities needed to accommodate our meals. We did take-out two nights from nearby restaurants (see separate reviews) and enjoyed those meals on our roof-top terrace with a grand view of Friday harbor. We appreciated the complimentary tea, coffee and fresh fruit as well as the bathrobes. The beds were very comfortable and we appreciated the quiet & efficient air-conditioner. Another added benefit was the reserved parking on site. Due to the ferries running on winter schedule, our concerns about Friday Harbor being filled with too many tourists proved to be unwarranted. The winter schedule actually limits the number of visitors able to get to the island. So we found social-distancing achievable. Everyone wore their masks and were respectful of 6 ft social distancing, even on our hikes. The staff at the Inn has implemented ALL the Covid-19 protocols in a thoughtful manner. We left with the fondest of memories!
