Stayed for two nights with our son(11). Loved the beautiful setting in the forrest and marina views. We saw a deer grazing the grass next to the cabin two nights in a row! The cabin was compact, but felt bigger with the large windows. Nice and clean, fully equipped, and with convenient parking spot next to the cabin. The resort is very peaceful, with beautiful lawns and manicured landscaping. Did not have time to enjoy the firepits and resort provided kayaks, but they looked very inviting. We felt the resort is conveniently located for activities on the west side of the San Juan Island, like visiting Roche Harbor, Sculpture Park, Lime Kiln Lighthouse, and the lovely farms on the island. Friday Harbor is 15 min away by car.
The basics were great: a comfy bed and pillows, clean everything, stocked kitchen. The view was fantastic. The amenities were top notch: kayaks, fire pits with wood, on-site coffee shop, wagons for loading our stuff to and from the car. But what we also noticed were the details: the brickwork, high quality finishes like the stellar dock with nice handrails, the concrete steps to the beach, the river rock floor in the shower, the keyless entry. These are things they didn't have to do but it made it so much nicer. The outdoor chairs were cozy, the landscaping was pretty and varied, and they had the corn hole game out on the lawn. We will come back!
Very happy we chose Snug Harbor for our first stay on the island. Stayed in a one bedroom water view cabin which gave more privacy but still beautiful views. Cabin stocked with everything you need, was clean and felt like home. Grounds were beautifully maintained. Took advantage of the kayaks which was fun. Staff were helpful and friendly. Would stay again.
We came for a middle of the week break. Snug Harbor was perfect. Cabin was so much more than a cabin! The views are amazing! The fireplace kept us toasty as we looked out over the harbor after dark. So quiet and relaxing. Away from the busyness of downtown Friday Harbor. The short drive across the island brought rolling farmland and beautiful forests. If we had planned ahead the cabin has a beautifully fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor grill right on the deck.
This is a really nice, peaceful spot. Cabins are clean and have that modern/rustic hybrid aesthetic. Grounds are very well maintained and the staff is friendly. Great jumping off point for outdoor activity and exploring the island. As long as what you're going for is a relaxing stay in an out-of-the-way location, highly recommend Snug Harbor.
Stayed in a 2-bedroom unit. Very tastefully decorated and clean. Functional kitchen, albeit with appliances that could use an upgrade (rusty refrigerator freezer, loose heating elements on the stove, small dishwasher) . This was not a dealbreaker however. Location was very picturesque and centrally located on the island with the main attractions and the town center within a short 15-20 minute drive. Was a bit cold to do water activities (kayaks, paddleboards) but the layout was really nice and inviting. The cafe made excellent coffee and tea lattes. Added plus - an EV charging station on site Overall, an enjoyable experience
What a beautiful peaceful place to retreat to! We spent three nights enjoying both the beauty of the island as well as the hospitality and care put into this 5 star resort! The staff was friendly and helpful, the grounds beautiful and the cabin spotless, comfortable and every detail thought out! We needed a time to get away and recharge and this was the perfect place! We really didn't know how much we needed to get away until we got here! Thank you Snug Harbor for being excellent! We will be back :)!!!!

We love, love, love the owners and this Heaven sent property! Thank you for another memorable stay!
We stayed for two nights in a two bedroom cabin. The cabins are spacious with comfortable beds, clean and have every amenity you need for a relaxing get away. We enjoyed grabbing a latte from the coffee shop and strolling the beautiful landscaped grounds in the morning. Our cabin had an amazing view of the bay where we watched the eagles soar overhead and listened to the kingfishers. Very relaxing, comfortable, easy access to the entire island by car...we will be back!
Hands down, Snug Harbor Resort is the best inn/hotel/cabin I have ever visited. We stayed for two nights in one the two bedroom cabins. The accommodations were much larger than I expected, with beautifully updated finishes to the interior, and all the amenities you need to stay in without sacrificing anything. We have a 1 year-old, and simply having the ability to make him whatever random foods he was willing to eat at odd hours in the fully stocked kitchen was game changing. Additionally, if you have ever stayed in a studio-style room or suite with a baby you know that your night is over when they go to sleep. Not so in these cabins- we were able to put him down in his crib and close the door to the bedroom while we continued enjoying our evening in the separate living space. The views of the bay are gorgeous! The entire resort is eye catching. On our last night we grilled some steaks on the provided full-size propane grill and watched the sun go down over the water. About that water- the resort provides free access to several canoes and kayaks tied up at the pier. Despite the bay technically being part of the Pacific Ocean, the water is still and peaceful, easily allowing a novice to paddle around the bay without fighting any currents. As a voyeur you can admire island residents’ bayside mansions and impressive yachts, or just soak up all the nature. It’s rad. Lastly, the staff is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I don’t recall her name, but one of the women at the front desk was happy to indulge all my questions about island life and the local flora and fauna. If you want a quiet, cozy, and charming island experience, I highly recommend you stay here!…
