We had a two night stay for five. We purchased the Haunted Hotel package and requested to stay in two rooms in the original part of the building. Rooms were comfortable and newly renovated. Pieces of furniture still held an antique look while updated paints and fabric brought the room up to near boutique level. Bathrooms were small and shower... More

The Menger hotel is in a great location and filled with history. Unfortunately I feel it is has not been adequately maintained. My experience includes AC not working, a cricket in my bathtub, geckos in the hallway, door locks that dont operate, and lukewarm water. I would suggest visiting the lobby and bar to view the historic artifacts but stay... More

Family vacation, stayed at the Menger. Clean, comfortable & friendly staff. We stayed in the newer part of the hotel which had spacious rooms, no view (knew this when we booked). Bathroom/wc area need better light, vanity area & room had plenty of light. It has old charm character. Went ghost hunting with my grand daughters, but never saw any... More

The haunted Menger is a San Antonio institution. Professional staff and a great brunch, the hotel is being renovated. Each room is unique and has its own character. Excellent location makes all the Riverwalk area attractions easily accessible.

We had a great room on the third floor of the old part of the hotel. The room overlooked the courtyard. There are rooms that look down on the Alamo. The service at check in and at valet parking could not have been better. We had a great nights sleep.

Excellent, beautiful historic hotel!!! We loved the charm of the hotel and the cleanliness. Will definitely stay again. The staff was very friendly, courteous and most accommodating. Across from the Alamo which brings so much charm. Footsteps from the romantic RiverWalk and close to the historical "Houston Street" which has so many enjoyable establishments. Love the Menger Bar too!! Great... More

I was in San Antonio for a 12-day conference and was assigned to stay in the Menger. I truly was pleased by the high ceilings, lovely (although in the process of being renovated) furnishings and rooms, and just the general ambiance. I had a very small, single room and it was plenty big enough for one person. Most days, I... More

Across the street from the Alamo, great rooms, we always book in the old part of the hotel. Colonial Room has great breakfast buffet. And the Menger bar is a must visit, Teddy Roosevelt recruited the Rough Riders there, bullet hotels in the bar, and repaired hatchet damage from temperance ladies before prohibition. Dark wood, Shiner bock, and your cowboy... More

We visited over Labor Day weekend. There is a lot of history at this hotel. Roosevelt, Bill Clinton, May West, Oscar Wilde and many others have stayed here. They are renovating the hotel but it's not messy. The pool and hot tub looked nice. The courtyard is beautiful. The price was good. the only complaint I have was the pricey... More

Had a great time on our recent stay. Beautiful hotel with history and charm. Clean rooms. Large pool area. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. If you want a great location this hotel is perfect. We were close to everything. The only negative was its a little dated.
