We stayed two nights, Dec 30 and 31. The hotel is very attractive, and clean; room was very comfortable and well maintained. Sometimes the little things add up, which in our case seemed to add up too often not to lower our rating of the hotel. I'll focus first on the negative items. Valet parking - when we arrived we were in a line, however it being Dec. 30 we kind of expected that. About 15 minutes waiting to be able to unload our belongings and for the Valet to take the car. Check in was quick - we had been offered a lower price upgrade to a river front balcony (if available) via email, however upon checking in was told that was unavailable. There must have been some no-shows as on our floor we noticed a few of the doors to those rooms were still sealed with the tape used during Covid times. We obtained two room card keys, one worked fine, the other - three additional trips to counter to try to get a second one to work. Clerk on the 3rd trip a bit snitty about it, indicating it may be the way we were using the door handle, up or down, that may make it not work. The 2nd key never worked, on our room or for coming in to the establishment from the River Walk entrance. Wi-fi in the room worked well, however a $4.95 charge per night if you choose the faster intranet over basic, which is recommended for streaming movies, etc. Just a cup of coffee in the lobby in the morning was over $3.00 per cup, no free coffee in the lobby as in most hotels. No free breakfast, $3.00 if you wanted a breakfast "taco" to go. One evening we ordered two drinks in the hotel bar; bartender did not know what Aperol was, another drink that calls for ginger beer - unavailable, and drinks along with chips and queso took at least 15 minutes to reach us. Some eating options in the Hotel closed, but that was ok,, again - Covid times. Almost $500 for two nights, $44.00 plus tax per night just for parking!) standard two queen bed room, which did have a balcony facing opposite the River Walk, with parking for two nights seemed excessive for what was delivered. Positives! Beautiful, clean, and the location on the River Walk is ideal. Staff (except for aforementioned exchange) was very professional and courteous. We were there over a Holiday, and the decor in the Hotel was festive. Would I stay here again? I am unsure. Not an unpleasant stay, but as said before, sometimes it's the little things that sure add up.…
This hotel is certainly above average and reasonably priced. The kids thought they were living large! I asked the lady at the front desk if I could check in a little early and get the highest floor possible, she obliged and put us in the 20th floor. Beautiful views of the city, specifically the Tower Of the Americas. The hotel is on the river walk and just a short walk to the mall. COVID restrictions seemed to affect a few things, but not holding that against the property. Our stay was quiet and peaceful, I recommend Valet and just walk or take a scooter that you can rent all around the area. Will stay here again in the future.
A great location, nice rooms, however over 1/2 of the Hotel was shut down for covid. No place to eat. No place to drink. We walked down the block to the Hyatt to have breakfast, and a bloody mary because we didn't want to sit outside in the cold. Even though the Hotel was not very full, we were put on the street side, which was VERYNOISY....even from the 19th floor. As a Hilton Honors member, I thought I would get a better room location. The coffee shop sign states open from 6-9 however it WAS NOT. We came back to the room around noon and the door sign states they would be back at 4. We were told at check in, they would NOT refresh the room...coffee, cups, towels etc. We were disappointed.
In town for a long weekend for our anniversary. We had a great stay. The room was clean and the people were amazing. Special thanks to housekeeping, room service and the nice ladies in the Cupboard coffee shop!
Three of us enjoyed four nights at this Hilton over Thanksgiving holiday. All staff were friendly and gracious and complied with protocols implemented because of COVID. The room was attractively furnished and appointed. The bathroom was laid out efficiently. I chose a room on the river side to avoid noise from traffic on South Alamo. Food services were curtailed, but San Antonio offers a myriad of quality dining choices. The only shortcoming was that rooms with two beds offer only full size beds; we prefer queen beds.
