Very beautiful old school colonial style hotel. Was decently renovated and is kept clean. Room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. We had some noise on the riverwalk as was to be expected on weekend nights. Very nice and collegial staff that went above and beyond any expectations on any requests. Location is perfect just off the louder and busier section of the riverwalk. Ostra restaurant on the other side of the bridge is great.
We have stayed at this hotel before and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We came back on vacation for a quick overnight stay. What a wonderful surprise when we walked in our room and there was champagne and chocolates waiting for us! It was a gift from the hotel staff wishing us a happy anniversary. Everyone had even signed the card! We will always stay the Omni La Mansion Del Rio when in San Antonio. Fabulous service, great accommodations, wonderful atmosphere right on the Riverwalk.
Very good hotel - our room was a decent size, with a nice shower/en-suite, and doors on to a shared terrace looking out over the pool area (no seating). The ladies on reception were friendly on arrival and check-out. We didn’t use the hotels expensive valet parking but parked in the multi-storey across for the street (instead of $49 per night for valet, we paid $10 - result!). The hotel is really well placed for the Riverwalk, The Alamo (blocks away) and downtown shops & the mall. Only niggle, the hotel has only 17 pool loungers (7 down each side) which were occupied from as early as 8am throughout our stay. However there’s a large area of patio abutting the pool covered in chairs and seating which was hardly used - strange? Why not more loungers? Anyho, great location and nice hotel.…
From the airport we took the local bus that dropped us off a few blocks from the hotel. Check in was easy and the staff friendly. We had a deluxe room with river walk view. The room’s balcony was shared with three other rooms so one needs to keep the curtains close when not in the room to keep out prying eyes. The room was nicely decorated and well maintained. We spent very little time at the hotel as we were doing other things. We liked the location and wouldn’t hesitate to stay at the hotel if we return.
The hotel overall was great with friendly staff and beautiful rooms, and the river view was excellent. However, I'm sorry to say and shocked at the finding of pieces of human or pet waste clinking to the inside fold of a fresh neatly folded bath towel in the bathroom. It is a shock to come out of the shower and grab a nice looking neatly folded bath towel and unfold it to start drying off but here's this "stuff" clinking to the towel-stuff being small pieces of human or pet waste. I'm guessing that this towel was washed in a load with others then dried and neatly folded for redistribution to the rooms. It just so happened our room won this prize of the soiled towel. Question is, how did the person folding those towels miss the crap still clinking to the threads of this towel. Or, better yet, aren't the towels "inspected" before they are tossed into the washer? Maybe the person spotted the waste but ignored it rather than toss it and the towel into the trash. This is the only fault I found but it's some fault; the entire wash load with this soiled towel in my opinion was contaminated. The room we were in was on the 4th floor. Nice for sitting on the balcony watching the people go by along the Riverwalk. Service is rated a two only because of the soiled towel, giving the overall rating of a two. (Never had a towel problem like I had here --in all my world travels.)…
Before I get into our review, I would like to say that the employees we encountered during our stay were helpful and nice. However, the manager has yet to call me to address my concerns. Now, let's dive into our experience at this hotel. When we arrived, we did our early check-in and headed up to our room. When we went out onto the balcony we noticed that there we four doors leading out to the same balcony. For 2 rooms at this hotel, we paid $1000 and were never told that the balcony is shared between 4 different rooms. This was an issue for us from a safety standpoint and also frustrating since we were never told at check-in or on the website that balconies on the river walk are shared. Next up, let's discuss the pool situation. We decided on a night swim and when arriving at the outdoor pool we found it to be in disarray. The pool was filled with bugs and the deck was covered in used towels and trash. To make the situation worse, cockroaches came out of the shadows and scurried across the deck and my foot. Lastly, as I crawled into bed, I felt what seemed to be crumbs in the bed even though I had not eaten in the room. When I turned on the lights, I found 2 bugs in my sheets. I mentioned this to the hotel staff in the morning and they apologized and issued a refund for my valet, which is not sufficient for what I paid for, and said the manager would call me. I have yet to receive a call to discuss my stay. The only good experience about this hotel was the friendly staff but from this experience, I have decided that I will not stay at this hotel again.…
The location of this hotel was great for exploring the River Walk, we could walk right out to the river and explore the restaurant and shops. The room is smaller than you would think based on the pictures and the bathroom was a tight squeeze for 2 people getting ready. The patio overlooking the River was small but nice. Room could have used some updates and be a bit cleaner for the price we paid. The pool is nice, small but fairly quiet when we were there. We loved our time in San Antonio but probably wouldn’t stay at this hotel again.
Good hotel, rooms kind of small and difficult to find your way around in the hotel. The hotel is a bit chopped up but still very nice. Hotel is very clean and the staff are amazing. Food is also excellent. Great location. Right on Riverwalk. Unfortunately we were there for the one cold week this year and the halls were cold. The rooms were nicely heated.
I LOVE this hotel and the people who work here. From valet, to front desk, to housekeeping, all were beyond wonderful. They have a certain standard of customer service here and it shows. I could tell staff enjoyed their positions and I'm sure there isn't much turn around with employees. If you can, ask for a first floor Riverview room. It was a great location for access to the river and people watching. I will stay here again and will recommend to anyone traveling to San Antonio.
Great Riverwalk hotel. Clean and quiet in the midst of all the action of the Riverwalk. Nice small pool. If you can get a balcony overlooking the Riverwalk. Staff at front desk and concierge were helpful and pleasant. Morning coffee and bar service a little spotty.
