We were just in town for one night this trip but enjoyed our stay at Drury Inn. Good location just steps from the Riverwalk. You can eat on property and have a cocktail or skip on down to one of the many restaurants in the culinary scene.
We stayed one night at the Drury Plaza Riverwalk in mid-September. Sooo enjoyed our stay. Definitely our favorite hotel on the Riverwalk. We specifically stayed here for the rooms with the balconies overlooking the San Fernando Cathedral. I sat on that balcony all day long, reading and enjoying the view, even despite the day of rain! Love the separate bedroom! The afternoon happy hour could have easily sufficed for dinner had the allure of the Riverwalk restaurants not been there. The indoor pool/hot tub was nice, and the fitness center was perfectly equipped with great views while running the treadmill. The breakfast was hearty and very good quality...love that they have biscuits and gravy! Every employee we encountered was upbeat and kind and seemed to be interested in serving their guests well. Housekeeping was very well done. Just an overall very satisfying and enjoyable stay. This will be our hotel choice for the Riverwalk every time!…
Nice hotel in a great location. Loved the open concept lobby and the idea behind the bar and breakfast area on second floor mezzanine. We very much enjoyed the three free drinks during happy hour. And the rooms were nice. breakfast was acceptable. But the desk staff and valet were completely overwhelmed every time we tried to access or walked by. The Elevator lines were normally long on lobby and mezzanine levels. Beware that the primary entrance is through a parking garage. Chalking some of the problems up to COVID protocols or the New Years weekend. Finally the river walk access for the restaurant areas was CLOSED. There were no notices anywhere until you were 30 ft or so from the chain link fences.
This hotel was ok but not what I expected. The thermostat did not work properly so always too hot or cold. There is no restaurant except for Teller's Bar and although they have excellent food it is only open in the evening. There are no vending machines- even though it says there are on the 5th or 6th floor, the breakfast hours were not clear so weekends is 7-10 but thru the week is 7-9 just so you are aware. We missed breakfast on Monday because this wasn't mentioned to us until we went down and they were closed. The evening snack service is not good and they will let you know they don't start - and basically don't want to talk to you until on the dot time - 5 or 5:30 and not 1 min earlier. The soda machines did not work half the time. Request made to housekeeping resulted in nothing and had to go to front desk. Breakfast staff and evening snack staff were rude. Teller's Bar has excellent food, reasonable and very friendly. The room was ok but the bed hurt our backs after the 2nd or 3rd night. The room was clean enough but not great. There is no shuttle service to/from the airport, just an fyi. For what I paid I expected more. I will not stay here again.…
Room was never clean properly bed was just made in clean towels… Bathroom was left dirty.. Dirty tissue out in the hall for two days and never picked up. Drink area on second floor state constantly filthy and sticky..
