Great location for a short visit to San Antonio. Close to the Alamo and the Riverwalk. Small outdoor pool with lounge chairs was quiet and secluded. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and hot. Overall a great visit!

Came to town again for a play, so wanted to be downtown. The Crockett had good reviews and now I know why. I’m in San Antonio three times a year anyway. This is where I’ll be staying. First —we scored an unexpected upgrade, which is always fun. Large room with a king bed (had reserved a queen room) and a view into the Alamo. Check in was a piece of cake, the valet took the car, we took the elevator to 5 and just fell in love with the place. Clean? Oh my yes. Plus (and mind you this was in the afternoon) ran into a housekeeper when I went to return the luggage cart and was asked if the room was satisfactory or if we needed anything. Service. Training. You can always tell. Spacious. Comfortable bed. Nice chairs in which to sit. Lighting leaves a little to be desired, but this is an old building and there is only so much one should expect in the area of re-doing plumbing and wiring. Good wi-if. The bar was pleasant and quiet. Breakfast both days (described as “continental” but really a full buffet) was a treat. The room could get crowded, but there was an overflow section. I had to get to the car a couple of times. The lot was just across the driveway, well lit, and both times the valet offered to get what I needed from the car. Again, service, training. It pays. You are downtown, so it can be a little noisy, but the windows are new and thick, noise from adjacent rooms seemed non existent to me. Neither of us checked the facilities at the Menger (across the street and available to guests of the Crockett) but next time perhaps.

The service was friendly the rooms were neat and clean. The only critique I have is the water temperature in the shower was not consistent. It would run hot and cold during the shower, which is a shock. Overall, a very nice stay.

The second time I've stayed at this hotel. The hotel is very nice and has a lot of history behind it. The parking fee is a bit high I think... almost $100 to park for 3 nights. The breakfast was good. It was a hot breakfast but could use a bit more variety... there was no bacon, biscuits, but had eggs, cereal, waffles, and fruit, and some breads.

Visiting San Antonio 03/10 to 03/12 with family for Spring Break. Booking made through third party. Hotel location is excellent, right across (behind) the Alamo, and just one block away from Riverwalk. We arrived early at 12:30 PM as we informed to hotel, and was told the room we prefer (overlooking the Alamo) won't be ready until 2 or 3 PM. We park the car using their valet service (at $28+Tax daily is about regular parking rate for San Antonio), leave our luggage at their storage and go out for lunch. When we get back at 2:30 our room is ready. The elevators are fast and we never have to wait for long. The room on the 4th floor is large, with a sofa and a work desk and chair. Plantation shutter gives a very nice appeal to the room, with the windows overlooking the Alamo. There is a flat TV with cable, but sadly no safe for our electronics so we have to keep our laptops in our locked luggage when we're out and about. The wifi may have limited bandwidth since my work video conference call was interrupted when my son starts browsing through his laptop. AC works really well to keep the room cool. Bathroom is a bit on the old side but still functions and we have no issue. Water pressure is strong and hot water instantaneous. Toilet is new and have water saving feature with small and large flush options. Bathroom towels are nice and fluffy, unlike the coarse thin ones many hotels have. There is a Keurig machine with some coffee pods and tea bags, so we can always have our coffee or tea anytime. Breakfast was quite good. Nothing fancy but more than enough. Scrambled egg, beans and sausage, tortillas, DIY waffle and pancake makers, cereals, yogurt, cottage cheese, fruits, and several types of juice . Staff are really helpful and courteous everywhere, from the front desk to breakfast attendant and cleaning service they are all very friendly. We likes the Crockett Hotel, and we have stayed here a few times already. The reason we always come back is because the hotel gives a cozy feeling of being a home away from home whenever we visit San Antonio.
