This hotel is absolutely a steal for the price! The lobby is beautiful and the staff is amazing! From the valet who even open the door for you getting out of an Uber to the front desk who literally do their best to accommodate your needs. Special shout-out to Seiah who is made magic happen for us and was clearly a woman of answers to her associates. Also Mayela was was the sweetest! The rooms were great and again for the price you couldn’t beat it. The area is a quick ride 8 min ride to downtown and easy 14 min walk. And because I do believe in constructive criticism the one thing I would suggest is vacuuming the hallways better. I visited 3 floors visiting associates and they were all in pretty bad shape. Other than that we would absolutely stay here again. Thanks for the great experience and comfortable stay

The rooms were adequate in terms of size and decor. Location was ideal since it was close to riverwalk and restaurant.
Cleaning standards would be a huge let down. I did ask front desk in two occasions to clean elevators. It’s took more than 6+ hours to get a minimal wipe down of elevators.
Hand sanitizer stations outside the elevators were empty as well slots were mask would be located. My room floor was so dirty that our new socks were turning black from just walking inside our room. Male bar tender could have been more welcoming.
Pros: cake in the bar area was yummy. Plenty of games to play; chess, Shuffleboard, monopoly in lobby. Location was ideal to areas I wanted to visit. Some staff were polite. Front desk staff were accommodating; We did get rooms close to friends. Parking lot next door was 10 dollars for 24 hours as opposed to 27 per 24 hours with the hotel.

The hotel has mixed reviews, but I am happy that I chose Riverwalk Plaza. I was on business, and just came from a much more expensive Westin in Houston. The Riverwalk Plaza was the better of the two. Though the property needs an upgrade, it's clean, friendly and centrally located. I liked it much better than the Westin as the self serve parking garage ($21 per night), is secure and attached to the hotel. The WiFi was free and it worked well! The room's windows were spotless, there was ample coffee packets in the room and chilled water, in addition to the AC worked well. The Westin fell short on all these. Additionally, there were two urns of free, unlimited coffee in the lobby from 7 AM, where the Westin told me to go to Starbucks in the Galleria. And the Riverwalk Plaza had a pleasant heated pool. There are rooms that overlook the pool, so I prefer a 'city view' , even though the hotel rules state pool Quiet Time starts at 9 PM.
The only place where the Riverview Plaza missed it in a big way was the loud rock music and awkward lighting in the bar. Dim the lights, refresh the paint, a few palm trees and some cool Latin lounge music, and you attract traffic off the street, as there's no bar for a few blocks.
Otherwise, thank you! I'll be back!

We just spent a night there earlier this week. This was our second time there as we were very happy with the location, even though the rooms were small and needed to be "freshened up". However this time, we had booked on Expedia and the front desk workers were not helpful at all as we tried to figure out why Expedia had us as fully paid, but the hotel said we still owed them money. We finally figured it out with Expedia but NO thanks to the front desk. I just read the recent review by "Traveler 1237899" who had a similar experience with the front desk.
Another concern was that when we booked the rooms, there was NO extra charge for valet parking. [The first time we went there in November, we were able to self-park.] When we got there and were told there would be an additional $30 charge, we asked to have that waived since we had paid in advance. They refused. This is NOT good customer service. We will NOT go back again.

Dear Dana, Thank you for staying with us again. We sincerely apologize for the issues you had with your reservations and the manner in which the situation was handled. This will be reviewed with the team to prevent this from happening again. Additionally, please know that beginning 12/29/19, our property will only offer valet parking, which has a nightly fee of $30 per vehicle. We hope for the chance to make it up to you on your return to San Antonio.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Riverwalk Plaza Hotel! There for two nights for the UIL State Marching Band Championship, it was a perfect location for access to/from the Alamodome (we could have walked). The hotel is clean, unique and fun, with friendly staff and comfortable beds, and it's situated on the quieter end of the Riverwalk, which made for a nice stroll on Monday midday when the weather was lovely and it was less people-y. :) We felt totally safe parking in the lot right next to the hotel, which was only $10 for 24 hours. Would definitely stay there again!!

This hotels location is great and is walking distance from all things, food, riverwalk, and the Alamo. The beds were ok, set up too high to sit on the edge of the bed and no place to sit and eat food. Willy B's is a great place to grab food and drink. Raven was our server each night and really was happy with the service she provided. We booked our reservation 4-5 months in advance and were emailed one month before our trip that the parking rate went up to $30.00 a night. I was angry with this at first but realized that parking anywhere in San Antonio is outrageous, so it was comparable to most places in the area. All in all this place was in a great location, great restaurant located in hotel with great service and ok food, but the room itself could use some more comfort (lower beds and table to sit at).

This is a boutique hotel, meaning in a very old building but updated and modern. The lobby area is lovely and always smells clean.
The location is great, you just have to cross the street to reach the stairs down to the river. The river walk is great and we enjoyed every evening on the river walk.
On-site parking is available, but a bit expensive. We chose to self-park in the public lot outside the hotel. (There are two public lots and the charge is 2/3 the price of the valet parking.) Of course, parking in public lots comes with a risk to your car!
Our first room was hot and the air condition didn’t work. They sent someone immediately to try to fix it. After an hour, it still wasn’t working. I called the front desk again and they immediately moved us to a different room, which was actually an upgrade to a larger room. It was very much appreciated. The air condition never registered lower than 71 degrees, even though we set it to 62.
The rooms have been updated, and some were being updated while we were there. We did have multiple large roaches in our room during our stay. I considered this somewhat normal because it’s an old building by the river…but they were unpleasant to find!
The pool area is very pleasant. The pool is heated though. I thought that it would be seasonally heated, and that because it was close to 100 degrees outside during our stay, that they would not heat the pool. That was not the case. The pool felt like a large hot tub and we did not swim often because it wasn’t refreshing. The pool area was clean and comfortable. Cool water would have been nice, and we would have enjoyed pool time if the water hadn’t been so very warm.
Gym was closed due to COVID.
No laundry available for guests…you can pay the hotel for laundry services, but the rates are high. Laundry isn’t important for short term travelers, but we stayed a week.
The front desk staff were very attentive and took care of everything we needed immediately. They were always pleasant and you could tell they wanted to make sure everything was enjoyable.
The coffee in the coffee shop downstairs was awesome! We got coffee every morning. The hotel restaurant has great food and the prices are lower than what you’ll find on the river walk.
Overall, we did enjoy this stay. The location is good, the price was fair, for the location. They need to do better pest control and stop heating the pool when it’s hot outside.

The location is fine, the rooms are fine.
My gripes are with the housekeeping department. They continuously go in and out of the rooms next door and let the door slam every single time ! Why they don’t wedge the door open is beyond me, as every other hotel does it. I was laying in bed at around 9am just watching tv and the wall up against my bed was shuddering every time the door opened and closed, which by my guess was about 10-15 times every day !
Please please please tell your housekeeping department to wedge the doors open when they service a room

We came to San Antonio for the weekend and wanted somewhere close to the Riverwalk.
This hotel was perfect. We have a 10 year old who loved the pool and we loved the pool area; the "grass" is unique and cozy for conversation.
The lobby is stylish and we loved the games. Some reviewers stated that the rooms are outdated and cheaply remodeled; ours was neither.
The location was great and compared to other hotels in the area it was very affordable.
We are sold on this hotel anytime we are in town.

Hi Kate, Yes, 24 hour hour private parking lot next to hotel for $10.00 for 24 hour period (in and out, very reasonable for downtown SA) Hotel has valet parking only for an exorbitant $30.00 a day.
We saw nothing like that. The lobby seemed very safe to us. We didn’t see anyone who was just lurking. I don’t know how you spot one of these people, but we felt very safe.
Our room was on the bottom floor of two, with a patio facing the pool. It had a patio not a true balcony.
