Very good value. Quality all around. Just overlook the city construction that is slightly bothersome. Staff is outstanding, free breakfast is excellent and pool is beautifully refreshing. Didn't use the workout room, but it looked very sufficient for an upscale hotel. Only item I didn't like were the sheets: Too flimsy and didn't fit the bed.
Why you would want to stay here: I visited in the midst of the summer with my family and I received outstanding customer service to begin with, specially from one of the desk officers, Will. Anything I requested the answer was yes and how soon do you need it. In he middle of COVID this hotel has high cleanliness standards. Someone is always vacuuming or disinfecting and there are wipes and hand sanitizer everywhere so that you can clean yourself or after yourself. There are motion sensor water fountains and all the free coffee and water you may want, sometimes there are even free cookies. I requested clean towels everyday and enjoyed a free breakfast. The breakfast is hit or miss since it sometime includes artificial eggs that do not taste food. However, there are other options such as fruit, yogurt and waffles. The hotel also offers ATM machine access, valet parking for $39 a day, laundry services, gym and a small pool, computer with printers access, a great selection of TV channels, and the location is unbeatable. All the main attractions, restaurants and bars , are a 2-5 minute walk. Valet parking is not necessary since you may park your own car across the street and pay a little less. Things to improve: enforce masks in common areas, and people’s limits in elevators. Will I stay here again, for the price, location, and services, you bet!…
We were so pleased with the service at the front desk. Devon was helpful, full of smiles and efficient. We arrived in the evening with special requests, and are so thankful for the accommodations. This was a great experience. We can’t say enough about his customer service!
Shortly after check in upon entering room and doing a quick examination of room, I found dried blood on the bathroom wall. This is so unacceptable on so many levels. This issue was immediately reported to front desk and I was offered for housekeeping to come and wipe the wall clean. Why would they think I would want to stay in that room after finding blood on the wall? If you didn't clean that I suspect the whole room wasn't cleaned properly. The manager (Carisha)as well as the assistant manager (Gloria) were notified as well. A change in room was only offered after it was suggested by me. Nothing else was offered by staff. Even after a change in room the shower curtain had a yellow discoloration at the bottom and there was a weird odor. Nice location and hotel would be nice if cleaned properly and better handling of unpleasant situations by management.…
Be aware! Prostitutes and homeless are right behind the hotel! My husband was staying behind to secure our flatbed trailer for just 10 min when he was harassed by a Prostitute who dropped her pants, and then, I KID YOU NOT, jumped over the 6 foot fence and came at him. This was about 5:30 or 6 in the evening We unloaded our full trailer for safety. Next morning (9AM) when loading up another lady came up to beg. However, when we got back from the Riverwalk about 10PM, there were families w young children playing in the grassy area behind the hotel, so I would guess that they did not have the same experience we did. I would not stay here again. If you can swing it, spend the extra $80 or so and get closer to the Alamo. Just a block would make a difference. Plenty of security there for the tourists.…
It was our first time to San Antonio and we stayed at the Hampton Inn Downtown River Walk . It was GREAT!! I want to commend Brenda (breakfast staff) for the Great job she did. She was on top of it and kept everything clean and well stocked . Thank you again for your service!!
Today I ate lunch at the Ambler with my husband and It was great! We both got a BLT salad and the presentation was so beautiful I didn’t want to eat it! The Cucumber twist hit the spot and cured my thirst. Our waitress Samantha was very kind and had a very positive attitude. She was super attentive considering she had multiple tables. We were in no rush as we explained. We were greeted by the hostess Cierra coming into the restaurant and also leaving. Finished our lunch with a seat out on the deck with a beautiful view of the river walk. All around a great lunch experience !
Clean!! Professional staff❤️. Close to all attractions. Rooms were spacious. Requested handicapped room and after a few phone calls we got one. We had requested one two weeks ago when reservation was made in person. They charge for parking but waived since we were handicapped.
We stayed here for one night in a king room which was newly renovated. It was clean, modern and comfortable. The room was not large but it was laid out well. There is a sitting area with a small couch and a side table. The bathroom is very bright with a walk in shower and no tub, which works for us. The counter top angled for maximum counter space. The air conditioner worked well, kept the room nice and cool. There is a parking fee $30 during our stay, and parking is in their gated lot which felt secure. It’s walking distance to the Alamo and Riverwalk, which was very convenient. We even walked to the Mercado and the Tower of the Americas. (Yes, we slept well that night, lol!). Nicely located, clean, newly renovated, comfortable rooms, free hot breakfast, and friendly staff, what more can you ask for?!?!…
Happily surprised to find the Alamo, Riverwalk and a huge mall and entertainment center just a short walk away. Like all Hampton Inns the hotel was clean, well furnished with comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. The usual full breakfast is always a draw. The staff is wonderful. What else do you need? Augie’s BBQ a short ride but worth every penny
