We picked this because of price and reviews. Upon arrival we were skeptical. The neighborhood looks a bit sketchy but do not be deceived. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They could use some updating but it was easy to walk downtown and to some places in the area. We felt safe in the hotel

We stayed here one night on our way to Port Aransas. When we pulled in we were a bit leery, as the price was low and neighborhood not so great. We were pleasantly surprised! The rooms (we had 2) were super clean. The bed was comfortable with super soft sheets. There were 2 large comfortable chairs in our room which was a nice touch. The property is small with only 29 rooms, but was perfect for us. Free parking is a bonus.

It’s walking distance to the Riverwalk and restaurants. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Planned a long weekend trip to see San Antonio and the surrounding area and booked la Hacienda Inn. Check in process was easy and our room was clean and comfortable for our stay. Walking distance or a short Uber from the Riverwalk, location was convenient. Overall great value and service. Will be sure to stay here again next time I am in the area.

I chose this hotel after reading the positive reviews but I am sorry to say I cannot agree with those. Yes, the room was clean but that was about the only positive thing. The bed was so hard that I didn't get much sleep, the Manager is rude and constantly in your face about everything and anything. The neighborhood is sketchy and does not feel safe. I was outside for like 5 minutes and in that time 3 different people came to ask me for money. The rooms need updating, the carpet smells. Other things you need to be aware of (but has been mentioned by the hotel0 is that there is no breakfast or restaurant and that there is no elevator in the building. I would not recommend staying here if you have other options to chose from.

I wish I could rate my experience with no stars. Please do NOT stay at this hotel! The manager is extremely rude and does not care about customer service. After I arrived to check into my room, the desk clerk notified me of a $100 Incidental Fee to be charged to my account. I was not told this beforehand although I already paid for the room. I paid the fee and the clerk said the charge would be returned to my card after I checked out. I checked out almost a week ago and did NOT see the charge returned to my account. I called the manager and he explained I had to physically be there to hand him the card so he could run it through the machine to refund the fee. Of course this isn't going to work as I am no longer in Texas. He claimed he told me this when I checked in. He mentioned I could email him a copy of my credit card and my ID so that he could run them through to refund my account. Of course (at this point), it became an issue of his word against mine. Then, the manger proceeded to over talk me to explain the refund process after the fact. Of course, I was quite offended. Before continuing any further, I mentioned I would NEVER stay there again and I would rate my experience accordingly. He replied in a tone which suggested he did not care and I was at a lost.

The first thing that needs to be said about this hotel is that San Antonio is a relatively poor large city despite the tourist friendly river walk. This hotel is about a mile from the Alamo/river walk, and during the day most people should feel comfortable making the walk. But it is in what you might refer to as a transitional area. Two blocks west the neighborhood starts to get more upscale. But the immediate neighborhood is definitely run down. Do not head east on Commerce. There's a cemetery and past the cemetery one of the poorest neighborhoods I've ever seen. As for the hotel itself, the rooms are very nice and well furnished. The a/c unit was loud but worked well otherwise. The television has full cable with what seemed like 100 channels. The Wi-Fi was a bit spotty, so it might not be the best place for business. Overall, if you feel like adventuring in San Antonio and need a room for a good price I say go for it.

I was in town for a 1-week course and I was looking for an affordable hotel near the San Antonio Riverwalk. I was able to book a room for under $60/night using an online third-party discount hotel website. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel. The best aspects: 1) Nicely furnished rooms, recently updated with Southwestern decor; 2) rooms with microwave and refrigerator, 3) free wifi, 4) 0.7 mile walk (15 min) walk from the Riverwalk; 5) There is a Walgreens and supermarket ~ 1 mile to the northwest of the hotel. The downsides: 1) location is on the East side of town, it is deserted at night time (but I did not mind this) and I did not feel unsafe, 2) I had to ask for toilet paper twice during my stay - I wondered why the staff did not refill my empty toilet paper roll that I removed and left in the middle of the bathroom floor; 3) the refrigerator turned everything to ice the first time I plugged it in, and I had to adjust it to the proper setting. Despite these negatives, I really had a pleasant stay. The family that ran this hotel was very nice to me, and they called a cab for me on my last day.

Reserved a month in advance, gave credit card info to reserve a room and we were given a confirmation number for our reservation. Then 4 days before our trip when I called to ensure our room would be ready, the same man who took my reservation a month ago told me the system was down and he could not check on my reservation, he said that he had plenty of rooms for the dates we were to be in town and I should not worry about having my room available. Just to be on the safe side I called again two days later, two days before our trip. The same man answered, I again asked for confirmation that our room would be ready. He again said that his system was down, BUT now in stead of there being plenty of rooms he said he was fully booked. After a very confusing and unacceptable few minuets of Q and A him he concluded that we were not one of those bookings. He offered to transfer our reservation to a different hotel but it was further away from where we needed to be in the morning. He had no other options for us. We made our reservation a month in advanced to ensure our trip go smoothly and the staff/management/ownership (i think it is family owned and operated) was a real disappointment. With so many great reviews we were really let down by this place and the gentleman, said his name was Nicky or Micky, who failed to adequately resolve the problem he created by disguarding, misplacing, or double booking our reservation. He also, did not call me back when he said he would, which left us scrambling to find an adequate substitute hotel.. We ultimatly cancalled the credit card we used to reserve the room as well as called Nicky/Micky at Knights Inn to cancel with him over the phone. We wanted to enjoy all this place had to offer, sadly we did not get the chance. Tread with caution. Have option 2 just in case.-vic01.15.14

Great, clean updated rooms and overall, the hotel was clean and well kept. The price was fair. But they had a very poor excuse for breakfast which included only coffee, cereal, milk and bread with a toaster. No tables or place to sit.

But I left my jacket in the closet of the room - it was my favorite hoodie. I called them a few hours later to let them know about this and was told to call the next day. Okay. So I called the next day and was told that my jacket was never found. Really? Even though I TOLD you exactly where it could be found? Enjoy my cool hoodie, you jerks!

I was very pleased with this smaller motel. I was in town that weekend for the Alamo City Comic Con and the location of this Knights Inn was more than accommodating to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. I actually walked to and from there and it was quite nice!

I arrived later in the evening around 8pm or so and was able to switch my room type from 2 doubles to a single king as the plans had changed. The front desk clerk was very friendly and actively speaking to me, not just one of those "give me your money, here's your keys and go" type people. A real sweet lady that probably could have sat and talked with me all night if possible!

The room was more than accommodating. Very spacious with all the expected amenities. A very clean room that was well maintained. I was more than impressed with the room considering it was just a "motel" and how small the property was. A nice personal touch that I thought was awesome was the ceiling fan in the room. While it is still dreadfully hot in September, the ceiling fan and AC are always on for me to get a good night's sleep and that's exactly what I got here. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud with pillows galore!

They also offer a very limited continental breakfast that consists of apples, danish pastries, and coffee. I don't particularly care for danishes and coffee so it was not a bothersome for me but some people may expect more. Honestly speaking, you can't really expect much of such a smaller hotel. It's not like it's a gigantic Marriott property or anything.

If i am ever in San Antonio again for any event in this part of the city, I will absolutely choose Knights Inn for my stay! Everything was above my expectations and I really have no complains (except for the noisy neighbors at 7am the next morning, but come on people you cannot blame the motel for that). Thanks for everything! :)
