Beautiful resort. I was here in business so didn’t take advantage of the pool, water park, golf or other amenities but it’s a great resort. Clean rooms, grounds were clean friendly staff, spacious and never felt full even though it was sold out. I would definitely bring a family here for a retreat. The 18 Oaks Steakhouse is amazing. We ate there a couple times and was an awesome dinner each time.

Amazing resort. Beautiful, water park is the best I’ve ever been too. Great service. Not sure why I would go anywhere else! Prices are not cheap but the buffet at Ciabolo Moon for $37 all you can eat was a great deal. Overall great experience, would def recommend!

One of the most professional, efficient, and beautiful resorts i’ve ever visited. I’m a Gold Elite member of marriott and can confirm they are extremely consistent with their thanks for my loyalty. i had a couple requests for items to be delivered to my room, as well as modifications to my room. The young lady at the front desk (forgot to get name tag)was very friendly and provided an extremely swift check in process. Rio on the phone was very professional and quick to get items I needed in my room. Cibilo Moon provided a wonderful dining experience for me and my team, and Ian at the bar was so fun! Beautiful pool, didn’t get to use as much due to business meetings and such, but will definitely be returning! Thank you so much to the JW team who provided great service in all aspects, wonderful job.

I had high hopes for this resort and they did not disappoint. Booked the AAA rate which included a $50 daily food credit. Plus, I was upgraded to the Executive suite using my suite night awards. They also granted me a 4pm check-out. The resort is massive but never did it feel crowed even with a few companies hosting onsite meetings. There are lot of nooks in the public areas for fun and games or just a quiet space to work or read. There were pool tables, checkers, chest and a shuffleboard table. Several fireplaces inside and out to enjoy a drink and conversation. The Executive Suite is essentially a double room – bedroom with a separate living room and a balcony that connects to both rooms and one very large bathroom. The bed was comfortable, but you need to leave the door open between the two rooms as the main AC is in the living room otherwise the bedroom got hot. The bathroom was huge, except there wasn’t a lot of counter space. Large shower with good water pressure and a separate soaking tub. The living room had a small desk, couch and chair. Small fridge and coffee maker in the foyer (hidden). We were really looking forward to spending time in the pool area, which is amazing with all the water slides, lazy river and multiple pools. We were able to get a few good pics the night before. However, we weren’t able to enjoy the pool due the weather (strong thunderstorms with a cold front rolled through during our stay). Food was excellent. The Bonvoy elite breakfast is continental but for $9 more you can upgrade to the full breakfast buffet, worth the upgrade. We had dinner at both restaurants -- Cibolo Moon and High Velocity. Highly recommend the short ribs at Cibolo Moon. While there is a resort fee, it made sense here with all the extra amenities which includes access to the water park, Basketball, tennis and pickle ball courts. Plus, it included two welcome drinks (house wine or beer). Bonus there was no fee for self-parking. We will definitely be coming back.

Ricky & Anthony at Cibolo Moon were awesome servers with personality and great knowledge. The balcony is a very nice addition to the large room, great size bath. So many pools! The lazy river!

We stayed here for 3 days prior to moving on to Houston for a family gathering. It was a spectacular visit. We played golf 2 days on a perfectly manicured golf course. We dined twice at Cibolo Moon, the onsite restaurant. Great salad for lunch, barbecue brisket for dinner. Excellent service throughout and a beautiful room with a view of the golf course. Couldn't ask for more.

We stayed at JW Marriott Hill Country for four nights and enjoyed our stay. The resort is busy with families, golfers and convention attendees. The pools and water park area are in the back of the hotel and although crowded we had no problem finding chairs. The lazy river was my hangout spot and was great just to float in the Texas Sun. Our experience with staff was very consistent from the valet, front desk and pool service staff. All were extremely professional and friendly. It was obvious that the property was running short staff as are most places these days. We received an upgraded room based on our Marriott Gold Elite Status. We were given a King Deluxe with a full balcony that over looked the 18th green of the TPC course which had just hosted a PGA event. The only problem we had with the room was a mechanical issue with the shower. We called and it was resolved while we were at dinner that same evening. The only restaurant on property that we tried was Cibolo Moon. Very good, jalapeño jam and small biscuit appetizer was outstanding. This is a large property so if mobility is an issue be prepared. Our room was quite a distance from the elevator. We didn’t mind but some people may. We are frequently Marriott visitors and this is one of my favorite Marriott resorts to date. We will definitely go back and encourage others to give it a look. It was nice to be away from downtown but still close enough to drive to the Alamo or Sea World.

Overall a great stay… no issues with the property or room. The kids had fun with resort the pool table, small arcade, basketball court etc. Very family friendly place! Our room was a little larger than average Marriott room and nice big bathroom with walk in shower. View of golf course was nice too. It was a quiet place to kick back and relax mid week. On-site restaurants were average but did not match the expensive price point. Menu was rather limited. We only really enjoyed the breakfast buffet as it had something for everyone. We saw some families had take out and were enjoying themselves in the lobby areas which was a great idea. My kids would have enjoyed pizza vs another average over priced burger. The pool and slides were fun and despite the awful gray weather, we still had a good time. I agree with another review that commented that the chairs were not clean. Our cabana rental had stained and wet cushions so that detracted from our experience. I was also disappointed that the cabana staff disappeared and we had unwanted guests in our rented space. Since it was a young family putting a kid down for nap, I let it go. Overall, the service was great! Definitely a little short staffed but the staff that was available were helpful and pleasant. Property is showing a little wear and tear…but overall nothing to complain about as most hotels are below average for stays now. If you are coming for an upscale “resort” experience, set your expectations a little lower to a fine hotel. If we are in the area again, we’d come back and stay longer. My husband wanted to try golf course which looked amazing and my kids wanted more pool time. We moved on to a Riverwalk hotel for last part of our trip and we all missed and preferred to have stayed at JW and driven into the city. If traveling with a family, I’d highly recommend staying here and drive into the city.

Kids enjoyed the water park area. Water was little cold but manageable. Only minor complaint was that the lounge chairs all seemed dirty. Water pressure in bathroom faucet was slow and carpet in room was dirty (even found nasty toe nail clippings all around further verifying my suspicion that the carpet wasn’t vacuumed). Finally, Despite the fact that AC was set to 65 the room was HOT all night; it made noise to let us know it was on but definitely no cold air blew out of it. Considering these negatives, Ari at check in was so great that none of these things really mattered. I can see this resort showing it’s age, but again We are still planning our fourth trip!

We held out company conference here, and what a venue! I had a king room on the 8th floor, with a balcony and a great view. The room as spacious, bed was comfortable, huge bathroom with tub and separate shower. The fitness room had lots of equipment. The pool area and lazy river offered lots of options. This place is huge, so there are lots and lots of people there, so if you like quiet secluded places, this isn't it. Bars and restaurants were good. Golf shop looked nice (I don't play). You definitely get your steps in just walking to the different places on the resort!
