The Westin San Antonio North generally garners positive regard for its cleanliness and convenient location, with many guests commending the well-kept rooms and proximity to local attractions. The hotel's service receives accolades for its friendly staff, though some guests have encountered issues with housekeeping. While the rooms' comfort and spaciousness are highlights, their dated decor and occasional maintenance shortfalls draw criticism. Amenities such as the pool and fitness center are well-received, yet some travelers feel the hotel does not provide good value, citing overpriced services.

We stayed at this hotel as a family (3 kiddos) and chose it because of the indoor pool. The facility was nice and the hotel was well maintained. As someone who worked in a major hotel for 10 years, I have certain preferences I prefer when staying somewhere. There was no complimentary wifi (except in the lobby) if you weren’t a Bonvoy member, which was frustrating. The TV did not have many options, which is fine, except when you have little kids and need cartoons to occupy them early in the morning. The fitness center was nice but rather small. As someone who lights weights, the lightest dumbbell set they had was 20lbs. Therefore I really had to modify my workouts and use the plates as “dumbbells”, which is less than ideal and frustrating. Additionally, housekeeping only enters the room every 3 days. I understand due to COVID, it limits the staff entering your room. However, with little kids, our beds were a mess in the morning and I would have preferred them to at least do a quick refresh to make the bed and empty trash. I’m sure they would have done a room refresh had I called down but my husband just remade the beds for us.
It is in a very convenient location and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again because all my “disappointments” are merely minor inconveniences and the friendliness of staff outweighs all of that.

We were a bit hesitant to book our stay at the San Antonio Colonnade, primarily because it is NO LONGER an Omni property. However, had it been Omni, I'm pretty sure we would have paid considerably more than we did. The hotel, overall, has been well maintained and the decor, etc. appears to be fresh enough. Really, our main issue had to do with the housekeeping policies. We were traveling with our adult daughter, so there were three of us in a double room; which, has never been a problem elsewhere. Their policy is that they have housekeeping refresh the rooms after 3 nights' stay. That's exactly how long we stayed. This would not have been a problem; but, we were given one washcloth and exactly three bath towels and two hand towels. They were helpful in supplying us with additional towels; but, we were told that they didn't have any additional washcloths when we asked. They did bring some additional washcloths later. The real problem is, if they want you to use the same towels for three days, then they should provide more towel bars and hooks on which to hand the towels. A little thing, yes; but, a big enough nuisance to stick in our minds. That said, overall, the employees were all very nice and they were responsive with the requests we made, except not having enough washcloths on hand. It was just sort of baffling....washcloths are just not that expensive. We were really very pleased outside of this and believe it was certainly an excellent value for what we paid.

Would definitely recommend this hotel to those staying in the NW San Antonio area. There are several restaurants, grocery stores, and such in the area, as well as easy access to the highway to go towards the hill country or downtown. The coffee shop is fabulous, the staff are ALL friendly and helpful. The like to pay attention to detail. There is an indoor and outdoor pool, and a nice workout area. The lounge area downstairs is nice to talk with those you may be staying with in the same hotel. The onsite restaurant, Bolo's, is a bit pricey, the food is tasty, but have had problems with getting the correct food order. Would still recommend staying here and would even recommend for booking events in their ballrooms. Their event staff is top notch and the catering is fabulous!

Check-In was efficient; however, hotel is outdated. Had to go on scavenger hunt in room to find coffee machine and tea. Hotel does NOT offer free Wi-Fi, hotel provided ONE wash cloth per room, hotel requests customer use less resources but discounts not passed to customer, sheets not changed daily unless requested, no vending machines, but you can buy snack from gift shop. SO DISAPPOINTED!!! STAY AWAY!!!

Again, I try to wait some time after a stay to offer a review that isn't all emotion based.

We've have been staying at this property for 15 years with wonderful experiences to sadly watch it fall to less than it's once wonderful past.

Our last visit couldn't get the room temperature to stay steady. Floor carpeting was dingy from years of only vacuuming. Drapes looked aged and need of replacement. Televisions wouldn't work until maintenance reset the entire system.

Room service food was cold and definitely of a lower quality from just a few months prior, (note: F&B manger did reach out and comped the meal within a week). In-room coffee supplies were available for only one service. Lastly, for some reason the property has discontinued the in-room mini bar. It may be seem as a small issue for some, but now being forced to go downstairs to the lobby bar for a glass of wine or to the sundry store for a candy bar makes this feel like a simple budget hotel.

Here's our hope that management recognizes the slow deterioration of a once beautiful property that doesn't represent the rest of the Omni Property portfolio.

First I would like to say this was my very first time staying at an Omni property, so here goes.

Pros: Hillside Country Views (high floors), Indoor pool, Comfortable bed & pillows, Complimentary coffee or evening drink at on-site bar.

Cons: Rooms outdated, technology outdated, dingy shower grout/tub, shower head/water pressure, onsite restaurant and store closed (bummer).

Improvement Suggestions: 1) Buy lamps that also have USB ports as well as plugs. 2) Get flat remotes that is easier to clean and more compatible with the TV. 3) Offer Netflix app for guests to sign into their accounts. 4) Paint rooms with a lighter coat of brown (or different color) for a more updated refreshed look. 5) Deep clean or update shower tile. 6) Get an adjustable shower head.

Also, the room right next to me had room service TWICE and when I called and asked for a menu they told me there was no room service, so that left me baffled.

I will try another Omni just to see if this one was just an older hotel, and also there was an Omni downtown as well I think may be more updated.

We appreciate all our guest feedback especially as we look towards planning for the future and services we should bring back. At this point we do not offer In Room Dining, but when our guest orders delivery we will bring it to the guest room or ask the guest pick it up in the lobby which I would assume is what happened. I hope that you will give us another opertunity and please feel free to reach out to me directly. Regards, Riaan Nel

The Westin San Antonio North was recently acquired from another hotel chain and updates are in process…I look forward to my next visit to see the progress. I was thrilled to experience the excellent customer service that is expected of a Westin hotel and for this I will continue to return. The room was ready in advance of my arrival. Checking in was quick and easy. Every time I returned to the hotel a staff member hustled to the door to open it for me. The room was clean, the Westin bed and bedding were perfect and there were lots of towels (thank you!). The location in relation to the UT Health Science Center was great…and shopping at the Shops at La Cantera Parkway was just a few minutes away. When I locked myself out of the room at 8:00 pm (wearing pajamas)…Chris from the front desk arrived at my 14th floor room with a key in less than 5 minutes! This will be a 5 star rating once the updates are completed and I look forward to seeing the changes at my next visit.

My son and I traveled to pick up his daughter for a 10 week visit during COVID times. This hotel was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We made a same day booking through Expedia and arrived at about 8 pm. The staff was very helpful making local restaurant recommendations as restaurants had just recently opened after the COVID closures.

The only knock was the room next to our was occupied by unsupervised children, as their adults had taken a separate room. The children were jumping, screaming, giggling, and laughing until after midnight. I had to knock on the door to try to quiet the kids down. Someone must have called the front desk to complain as the parents arrived at 12:30 am to finally quiet them down for good. Probably poor parenting decision to leave children unattended in a room without an adult other than hotels issue.

Affordable for the nature of the hotel. They did have a standard breakfast buffet, which surprisingly was not supposed to be free actually (there was no sign and past experiences with much cheaper hotels I expected better).

There was conveniently a small Starbucks in the lobby which was nice in the morning. Both myself and partner seemed to have allergy issues on premises that immediately cleared up after we left, but would strike again when we got back to our room.

The front desk allowed and notated us to check out a bit later which was also lovely, however this did not seem to be communicated well as the housekeeping staff tried to rush us out and were difficult to communicate with. There was also no do not disturb placard to assist in dealing with this.

It was possible to use my existing TV subscriptions on their platform though I'm cautious of this feature for password security and would reccomend ensuring you log out just in case. The toilets also did not flush particularly well most notably if I attempted to discard some old coffee, it would take three full tank flushes before it would clear up. The bathroom also lacked a way to turn on the vent fan. The lighting in the room was also somewhat difficult to control with switches and toggles in very inconvenient places.

Perhaps 4 stars sounds generous given the problems I did experience, but the staff I could communicate with were exceedingly friendly and respectful. The service received and environment as a whole was very upscale and comfortable. I would absolutely like to stay here again and see if I can work with them on the allergy issues to make it more pleasant. I feel like I'm picking out a lot of small things that overall did not really effect our stay (allergies excluded) with the bulk of this review, but I definitely see this as a great option for a visit to San Antonio.

I wanted to love this property but just didn't. Great location and lobby is beautiful but after that it is just downhill. Rooms are VERY worn and needs lots of attention. We had a giant hole in the top of our closet, I think any cold air we had must have been escaping out of it. We just weren't comfortable in the room at all. Pool area is nice but they shut it down at 8pm and by that I mean lock the doors so that you can't even go out there and sit by the pool in the outdoor seating that is plentiful & available (would have been a great place to socialize and remain socially distanced). In Texas, during the summer when it is still 95 degrees at 8pm and sun is still up I think this is just a dumb rule (insert eye roll) We had to get lawn chairs out of our cars and sit in the parking lot in order to visit after our games. Sorry, not a fan, would not return. Plenty of nicer hotels in the area with better price points.
