We stayed here because of a wedding and the rehearsal dinner was at the hotel. What a cool place. It is a very old hotel that feels almost like a bed and breakfast. The general areas still look very old and maintain the feel very well. The bedrooms on the other hand are very modern. There is a full sized refrigerator in the room and the beds are literally as comfortable as any I have slept on in a while. I read about the floors squeaking- they do- but frankly I found it inviting. They are wood-and old- so they squeak. The hotel is not smack in the middle of everything but it is very close- just the right amount of away in my opinion. They have several wonderful small outside patios/balconies where you can get away and enjoy a drink or read or whatever. The bar is great- The only negatives for us were 1. Our room had no chair or place to sit aside from the bed- not a big deal but could have been (several of our friends' said their rooms did) and 2. The hotel indicates it is directly across from the river walk. Technically, it is but the part of the river walk that it is close too is not where all of the shops and restaurants are. That is about a 2 mile stroll away and in the heat it was brutal. The staff was just great- super friendly and accommodating. The hotel has a rack for the bike share program so there are usually both manual and electric bikes there. It was a great place and we would certainly stay there again

Enjoyed the stay on the third floor in a vintage hotel walking distance to the Riverwalk...my room had a large king size bed, wooden shutters, original wooden floors, ample bathroom, balconies on the second and third floor were restful!!! But don't expect a modern look of interior spaces....expect to hear the sound of creaking wood floors and nice aged furniture that go with a building that was built in the 30's! If you appreciate historic architecture like me (a retired architect), you will overlook the lack of modernization!!!

We stayed in the Penthouse and loved it. Split level with separate living area and bedroom. The verandah is a nice added touch. The customer service is beyond your expectations. We traveled with another couple and had plenty of room to socialize and have a drink before dinner in our room. Wish we had stayed longer as there was so much to see.

It was a real treat to stay at this hotel! Very quaint and authentic!!! The room was spacious and there were ample places throughout to visit over a bottle of wine. The river walk views were amazing and getting around downtown San Antonio was a breeze. The staff was very friendly and gave us plenty of suggestions for dining and other nightlife activities. The restaurant hotel- Ocho served some absolutely delicious brunch to us as we enjoyed our views over the Riverwalk. My wife and I highly recommend this hotel to all travelers and for local "stay-cations". A true gem!!!

the girlfriend and i decided to treat ourselves with a staycation. I was stunned by the incredible interior. The bar and restaurant downstairs offers a great happy hour with a great view of the river as well.
