We took a short vacation in Salem for the history and to relax in the Old New England environment. We stayed at the Morning Glory because it was within walking distance of the ferry from Boston - which is how we got there
Not only was the location convenient to the ferry but also to all the historic district sites.
The Morning Glory itself is tastefully and carefully maintained, and our host, Bob, was friendly, and helpful. He makes an artistic and tasty breakfast every morning. And because rain was expected the day we left, he volunteered to drive us to the ferry to keep us dry.
We count our stay well worth the cost.

This was our first time at a Bed and Breakfast and Bob has set the bar for all the others to meet. Bob keeps an extremely tidy house, everything was clean beautifully decorated and accessible, he has water, coffee, and tea available at all times. Throughout our trip we saw Bob gardening around the house, both the outside and interior are absolutely beautiful. The flowers and exterior are just breathtaking and my wife and I made sure to take the time to admire Bob's green thumb. Morning Glory has a rooftop relaxation area as well as a small garden area you can sit and admire. Bob is an amazing host as well as a tremendous cook.

Breakfast at Morning Glory was one of the best parts of our stay. My wife and I still discuss them. Bob's breakfasts are something to write home about, during our stay he made, breakfast quiche, French toast, and crepes filled with banana and apple, they were the best meals I've ever had while on a vacation. Bob takes the time to come in and speak with all the guests as well as give directions or suggestions for your trip. This made our trip and gave everyday a wonderful and delicious start! In the breakfast area Bob does have small homemade "witches" for sale that are crafted by his mother, they're adorable and make a good gift for someone to likes to decorate for the seasons. My wife and I bought two as gifts for our mothers and they loved them, definitely a truly unique souvenir for someone at home or for yourself!

The location is perfect as well, located right next to the House of the Seven Gables, Morning Glory is close enough to walk to downtown Salem and partake in all the sights and tourist attractions. The B&B is far enough away from all the action that you don't feel inundated with noise and people. Bob also has private parking just for his guests off the street which is an incredible bonus!

In short, staying at the Morning Glory with Bob made our Salem trip and the next time we travel in the area I will find an excuse to stay again!

My wife and I stopped in Salem to do a little heritage chasing and sightseeing. She chose the Morning Glory, and I could not have been happier. The property itself is well maintained, and rooms are well apportioned with about anything that you would need. In fact, if it is not there, Bob will see to it. He is a perfect host, being present when you need but otherwise leaves you alone. When a suggestion was requested, he was quick to provide.

A large part of our stays at properties such as this is simply - breakfast. Bob always had a perfect portion prepared and displayed beautifully. In addition, his trademark cheese bread was available for toasting and enjoying (and you certainly will)!

Location was great, and there is ample paring for a car for each room. The parking is off street and easy to access - more so than the narrow streets of Salem themselves! It is located directly across the street from the House of Seven Gables and easy walking distance to about everything that you would want to see or do in Salem.

If you are going to Salem and if you are looking for a B&B, this property should absolutely be choice number 1!

My stay at Morning Glory was a first B&B experience for me and it was absolute perfection! You have privacy, with the comfort of having wonderful and interesting people around to get to know if you want interaction. Hotels cannot mimic the warm hug of a beautiful home with loving people around. Bob was more than accommodating and had thought of it all; face wipes and shampoo in the bathroom, coffee in the common area, soft sheets and towels. The location is gold (I’m from Salem). Coming down to breakfast to greet smiling faces and be served a well crafted breakfast was icing on the cake. Pancakes with berries and walnuts, a side of turkey bacon, coffee, orange juice…delicious! I had the best sleep in the soft bed, check in was easy, the space was quiet… you just can’t go wrong. I will be back to enjoy breakfast with Bob and I hope to meet Willow too!

The only drawback was that we didn't stay long enough. I met 2 other friends here for a brief overnight stay. Parking was spacious and on-site, the location was walkable to so many great little shops and places to eat. Our host was gracious and accommodating with everything we could have possibly needed (including when one of us locked ourselves out of our room). Breakfast was a delicious treat (my fave was the savory cheesy toast). I look forward to the day when I/we can come back and spend more time exploring the parts of Salem we didn't get to or simply relaxing and enjoying the awesome outdoor patio space. Thanks for everything Bob!

This was our first time visiting Salem and we cannot wait to come back. We had such an amazing trip and stay at the Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast. Bob is the most gracious host and makes a delicious breakfast every morning. The B&B is conveniently located right next to the House of the Seven Gables and close enough to walk into the center of town. We loved coming back to our room every night and especially enjoyed lighting the fireplace in our room and having our own little happy hour on the roof deck, which accessible to the Morning Glory's guests. I'd also like to note that while we did visit during the pandemic, we felt absolutely safe our entire trip and stay. Everyone was wearing their masks and the city of Salem (and Bob at the Morning Glory B&B!) did a great job enforcing social distancing protocols. We've already agreed that the Morning Glory B&B is the only place we'll stay when visiting Salem!

My husband and I stayed in the Elizabeth Howe room at Morning Glory Bed and Breakfast for a weekend getaway. The beautifully maintained house is very conveniently located, on a dead end street across from the House of the Seven Gables. I also appreciated the private parking, in an area with difficult street parking. Arriving around dinner, it was easy for us to find several wonderful options within walking distance. In the morning, Bob had made a delicious french toast breakfast and sat and chatted with us and the other guests. He is charming and lovely. There were baked goods and coffee located in the hall at all times and he even changed the clocks for us while we were out. I can't say enough nice things and look forward to staying again.

We stayed October 29th - November 3rd 2020 in the Sarah Goode Suite. The suite spans the whole top floor and was a great place to relax in the warmth when it was too cold to go outside. Every morning we enjoyed the fantastic home made breakfasts prepared by Bob. I discussed my vegetarian diet restrictions with him before arriving and he was ready with a great breakfast each day. Bob was a wonderful host, ready to get us anything we needed. The house is right next to the bay and TheHouse of Seven Gables. We were about a 5 minute walk from the downtown area and Essex St. so we were able to leave the house about 10 to 15 minutes before any reservation and make it walking through the snow without issue.

Hi Logan and thank you for posting your lovely review of your Halloween stay at Morning Glory. It's true that the Sarah Good Suite encompasses the entire third floor offering added space and privacy. I am glad it afforded you the room to relax and to take refuge from a few rather cold October afternoons. I am delighted you enjoyed the homemade breakfasts and I am always happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions as best I can. I would love to see you both again...maybe this year in warmer weather?? Until then, I send you my very best! Warm regards, Bob & Willow

My wife and I stayed at the Morning Glory Bed and Breakfast from October 26 through 30. Since this was Halloween weekend, Salem was packed. The B&B is situated in an ideal location because you are close enough to walk to all of the attractions in minutes but you are far away enough from them that the madness does not follow you home. You can relax in peace! The B&B is located across the street from The House of 7 Gables. We walked over there one afternoon to see the beautiful gardens. It is also very close to Ye Olde Pepper Companie, the oldest candy store in America. The B&B also has a rooftop seating area overlooking the harbor, and we sat there every morning to start our day and each evening as well to wind things down.
The B&B was very clean and charmingly decorated. The fall flowers at the entrance were stunning and picture worthy. Bob, the owner and host, was a complete pleasure to interact with on a daily basis around the breakfast table. And, oh my, the breakfasts he prepared each day were incredible! Bob was very nice and kind, and he totally accommodated my wife’s gluten-free diet. He was also very good at helping us make decisions about things to see and places to eat.
This was our second stay at Morning Glory and we will most certainly be back! It is a peaceful refuge to retreat to after a day of Halloween madness downtown.

Coming back to Salem for the first time since the pandemic felt like coming home, and our second time staying at the Morning Glory exceeded even our first visit! Bob is the consummate host; he anticipates every single need one could possibly have. Everything is thoughtfully planned out, little touches such as makeup wipes and Q-tips are provided, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Bob is thoroughly charming, as is Willow, his doggy. And I haven’t even told you about the Cheese Bread served every morning yet (I saved the best for last!). Sublime! The breakfasts are all wonderful, and the entire experience is one of feeling pampered and taken care of. The Inn is just lovely and the rooftop deck is so peaceful and relaxing. We will be back over and over again.

You may hear from Bob by posting this but I believe the best way to secure a room reservation is by phone. Give him a call, the Morning Glory is one of the nicest places I've ever stayed and Bob is a fantastic host. Make your reservation soon as I believe October is a very busy month and you don't want to miss a chance to stay there.
