Originally founded in the 1950's as a working cattle ranch, the Rincon Creek Ranch was purchased in 2010 by Bill and Gretchen Shirley who spent the next four years transforming it into a spectacular, luxurious, guest ranch. Consisting of 78 acres bordering Saguaro National Park, the ranch has seven, fully equipped guest casitas each with full kitchens, lavish bathrooms, comfy bedrooms, laundry, fireplaces, and sitting porches. The multi-purpose building, Luella-Boomer Hall, constructed to look like an old mission, has a kitchen, bathrooms, massage and exercise rooms, Wi-Fi, Direct TV, library, and a 1200sf great room. With horseback riding, jeep tours, hiking, and golf only minutes away, guests can customize their stay, engaging only in activities of interest, and the availability of in casita dining accommodates any dietary restriction or budget. The breathtaking views and consummate privacy make Rincon Creek Ranch the perfect place for romantic getaways, family reunions, and corporate retreats.

From the minute we drove through the rustically beautiful gate, we were in heaven. My husband and I spent 4 glorious days and nights loving every minute on the ranch. The casita was exquisitely furnished and designed with first rate appliances in the kitchen, stunning bathrooms filled with natural light, wrap around porches and a wood burning fireplace. From the beautiful sheets and towels to the fresh farm eggs Gretchen left for us, to the Cuisinart coffee maker, everything was carefully chosen and the attention to detail was out of this world. There are six casitas, each is very private, each has a spectacular view of the stunning terrain. The hiking trails through the Saguaro National Park are literally only a few yards from the casita door. Wonderful horses were available for me close by and I had a spectacular ride with a professional calf roper. Only 6 more months until we return for a full week in May! I can't wait! Abby

Abby & A, Thank you so much for your wonderful review and kind words. AND, thank you for already booking a return visit. We can't express how wonderful it is when a guest thoroughly enjoys their stay at the Ranch. It makes all of our efforts worthwhile. We're also glad you had a great horseback ride at Posta Quemada. Colossal Cave Mountain Park has a lot to offer, and it is so close. May should bring lots of blooming cactus and a whole new wave of migrating birds. We look forward to seeing you both again. best wishes and happy traveling! ~ Bill & Gretchen

I have to admit I felt like this was all to good to be true at first and the only bad thing was that time did not slow down while we were there .... I am all about the details and I can tell you Bill and Gretchen did not miss a single detail. The casitas are beautiful equipped with EVERYTHING you need ... Fresh EGGS and GOOD coffee and the homemade German cookies and the happy hour and the and the .. LOL are just a few of the VERY special memories I will cherish forever. We hiked, we relaxed, we enjoyed the really cool tub, we explored, we had a fire, we cooked our meals (because we didnt want to leave) in the beautiful kitchen that has everything you need, we loved on their critters and we just got to UNPLUG ... you come as stranger and leave as friends is no joke ... we have been home a week now and I cant stop thinking about the Ranch .. LOVED it MISS it !

Christie & M, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and made use of all of the amenities we have to offer. We are glad WE were able to take a little break and just chat with you guys on the casita porch. One of the greatest rewards we receive in this business is getting to meet all of the wonderful people that have come to stay with us, and it is so rewarding to hear about all of the things they did that day, even it is was just to unplug. Its the happiness and joy they feel that is so infectious and pleasing. Best Wishes and Happy Traveling. ~ Bill & Gretchen

My husband and I spent 6 wonderful days at Gretchen and Bill Shirley's well-appointed, lovingly maintained property. Their 100 acres of riparian, dessert, and pasture land is a haven for bird lovers, nature lovers, and anyone looking for a little quiet time to recharge in a beautiful setting. The casitas are impeccably maintained and tastefully decorated, and include kitchens with all the amenities, comfortable bedrooms, a sitting area with a wood burning fireplace, a roomy well-appointed bathroom, and large windows strategically placed to enjoy views of the desert or wash. The property abuts the eastern portion of Saguaro National Park, and hiking enthusiasts like us, found we could step out of our door and hike trails throughout their property as well as entering through a back gate into the National Park, and enjoy hours of exploration, thanks to maps and suggestions provided by Bill and Gretchen. We saw dozens of bird species which we recorded on the bird sightings charts they provided in each casita, and we enjoyed watching from our window javalinas snacking on seeds around the bird feeders in the morning! Bill and Gretchen are the consummate hosts. They provided personalized service - showing us around their property, and giving us suggestions for activities, restaurants, and things to do in the area. Bill is a lifelong resident of the Tuscon area, and he and Gretchen are terrific resources for excursion ideas. They also host a lovely cocktail hour on Friday afternoons, which extended well into the evening as we enjoyed chatting together and the time flew by! I found this property through a Tucson visitors' website, and then read the fantastic reviews about the Ranch on Tripadvisor, so I decided to give it a try. It surpassed all of our expectations! I would easily give the Ranch more than 5 stars if that were an option. Gretchen and Bill are amazing hosts who love what they do, love working and caring for their property, and enjoy working with people. My husband and I can't say enough positive things about this special place!

We had our wedding at Rincon Creek Ranch and it was the perfect venue for us. Upon meeting Bill and Gretchen, we instantly felt the connection of true kind hearted people who loved their ranch and wanted to share it with others. We were in awe when we got the tour their ranch. We knew this was the place where we were going to get married.Bill and Gretchen are not like any other venue owners. They are personable and soooo helpful. From start to finish they made sure everything was on point. From helping to set up the weddding, directing vendors and guests, checking in on the bride and groom to make sure we didn't need anything, helping with the flow of the wedding, and helping at the end to pack everything up. They are such hard workers but you can tell they love what they do!! Bill and Gretchen celebrated with us that night and the guests could not stop talking about how friendly and amazing they are. We highly recommed having an event there or even just lodging in their gorgeous casitas. It truly felt like a home away from home, A Hidden Oasis. It was the little things they did to make us feel so special and we can't thank them enough!!

Sean & B, Thank you for your kind words and compliments. We truly enjoyed having your ceremony and reception here at the Ranch. What a wonderful couple: organized, intelligent, with a great sense of humor - just a joy to work with. Although we just rent the venue, we know just how important this special day is, and we do everything in our power to provide a beautiful setting, and a smooth, enjoyable event for everyone. We wish you both the very best, and thank you again for choosing the Ranch to celebrate your union. ~ Bill & Gretchen

Absolutely beautiful in every way and everything exceeded high expectations! The casita was not only comfortable, but so well-appointed that we didn't want to leave - we want this to be our home-away-from-home! The kitchen was very well equipped, and was delighted to find everything we needed. The bedrooms are beautiful, beds and pillows comfy and everything was first class! We requested the "breakfast" delivery for the frig and wow - fresh eggs from their chickens, and everything one could hope for a country breakfast at the ready. And the pricing is very reasonable for the luxury and amenities in the casitas and in the community casita. The Ranch has a great story - Bill and Gretchen are incredibly welcoming and warm and will share their love of the Ranch with their guests. We loved spending some time talking about the history of the Ranch with them; it's clear they love and respect the land their Ranch sits upon, and rightfully so. The Ranch abuts the Saguaro National Park, and the views are spectacular, right from our very own rocking chairs on the porch. The trails are amazing around the ranch and the flora is so beautiful in the spring. Anyone who hasn't seen this desert in spring must take a trip to experience this unexpected beauty. Even their horses in the meadow are welcoming. They have a darling "community center" that has a pool table and table shuffleboard with a few tables to sit around. Gretchen even set out home-baked cookies (and they are award winningly delicious) for guests. The birds sing all day and you can hear the buzz of nature, while the winds blow the palo verde and flowers. Cactus bloom unexpectedly vibrant colors. It's incredibly peaceful and soothing to the soul. There was a lot of sketching and painting going on with our family around the ranch, with an inspirational vista at every turn, trail, and casita. We are already planning our next trip back. What a beautiful experience and thank you to Bill and Gretchen for building this lovely destination and creating this "little slice of heaven" for their guests!

G,M & T, Thank you so much for your wonderful, detailed, review! April-May is truly an incredibly beautiful time at the Ranch. Our Winter was wetter than normal resulting in an explosion of color and greenery this year. The birds are here in force as well, and some of the winter visitors seem to be hanging out a little longer. This week we've seen a steady parade of the big-4 mammals on our front lawn: Deer, Javalena, Bobcat, and coyotes. After several years of being dominated by Whitetail, this year several Mule Deer are back in the mix. We truly enjoyed seeing you all around the Ranch. Each time T had a new watercolor, and M had a new sketch. Its very gratifying for us to see our guests enjoying all of the amenities the Ranch has to offer. Thanks again for your kind words and compliments. We look forward to having you stay with us again. ~ Bill & Gretchen
