Check in process - glass shields are placed at the counters and employees are wearing masks. Check in process was super easy , was able to check in early and you get 4 pool bracelets per room. No mention of me being a titanium member at all , offer of breakfast voucher or points. Not even a mention of being a member .. Very shocked. Typically you would get a thank you for being a member, we don't have breakfast but you will receive points, etc. Very odd
Rooms - I didn't see that they were more clean than any other time I have stayed in a room. No water, no sanitizing wipes, no plastic cups in the bathroom, no plastic bag for ice. There was a dead bug on the floor as soon as we walked in to the room so it made me question the cleanliness of the room.
Fridge same as the week before didn't work (different room) .
Pool- all the employees wore masks and the service by the pool was great. You can walk up to the side of the pool bar and order drinks and food or someone will come to your chair. We just had chicken tenders and burgers but they were pretty tasty.
Usually you cant bring food and drinks to the pool but people were bringing boxes of pizza hut, coolers, etc. Seemed a lot more relaxed this time than previous years
Complementary bottles of water by the towel stand. It was really great so you don't have to mess with the water dispenser that they usually have.
The slide is awesome and the kids must have gone 100 times on it that day.
We came to the pool next day at 9am and all the side tables were still dirty and covered with spilled drinks. I guess no one cleans the chairs and tables after the pool closes.
The property is beautiful. I cant wait to return when things are more normal. I would expect a little more on the detail cleaning but I know they are running with limited resources.
The property is very large and the rooms are spread out. It can be quite a walk to get from your room to the main lobby area. They do have golf cart shuttles to take you to and from your room which is especially helpful when you are checking in or out with your luggage.
The rooms are spacious and most offer views of the golf course or pools. The furnishings are in good condition and the bathroom in our king room was very spacious with a separate tub and shower.
We spent the morning at the pool which there are several of. We found the staff to be attentive and helpful.
If you are looking for a relaxing resort, this may be the place for you.
We stayed over Valentine's weekend paying a premium for a room that was anything but quality. Rips in the carpet, peeling wall paper, holes in the sheets and no toiletries beyond basic tissue paper and single ply toilet paper. Staff also seems to be spread thin as any request for help took significant time for a response. Even the most basic of services, cleaning our room, couldn't be done properly and timely. Management justified not having our room cleaned until after 4 p.m. as their "policy" that allows them to clean a room up to 6:30 p.m. That detail, of course, was not shared with us when we booked the room nor when we checked in.
Save your money and avoid the frustration. You can do much better than this Westin in Tucson.
Since my mother lives 20 miles away we started to realize staying at this property was going to be a real problem. She was not planning to use the pool, but be able to watch my two year old while the rest of us were in the pool. But the staff was making it real clear they were not going to accommodate any guests this weekend. My only comment to this is that if you’re going to change what is the publish gas policy from before then I need to be very clear with people make reservations. Had I known when I made the reservation that I would not be able to have a guest stop by the hotel and visit with us as I had in the past, I never would have booked the state. Additionally when I made the reservation there was no information in the confirmation that I received that was also a change in the policy.Lastly a hotel staff member emailed me a couple of days prior welcoming me to the hotel. There was no information in that email either that this was going to be a policy being instituted during our stay. There were many opportunities to let guests know and then let us be able to make a decision.
we sat outside for a while debating what we should do after we checked in and while we were sitting there the entire resort got rained on. Not the hotels fault but when I mentioned that this was going to be our only day to have use the facilities and did not want to pay the resort fee because now the resort facilities were closed and the grounds were evacuated due to the rain, it didn’t make sense that we should be charged a resort fee. That also didn’t seem to be something the staff wanted to do either. In the end having never actually gone into the room, we checked out and left. This weekend was supposed to be relaxing. It ended up being a lot of running around with cancellations and having to make last-minute changes to plans that we could’ve accommodated before we even drove down to Tucson. they’re only suggested option for us to be able to have my mother visit was to have us pay an additional $200 to move into a suite room because a suite would allow for multiple guests. I didn’t feel it was worthwhile to spend $200 so my mother can visit her granddaughter. We ended up leaving
I wish I had better things to say about my experience, but it was clear the staff was OK with people leaving And holding to their guns on their policies, policies that weren’t in place in our stays before and were not communicated.
Will not stay here again. Not upset, I just Think the hotel needs to improve its communications. This whole situation could have been averted by just letting us know.
Recommend the hotel add microwave in rooms and also try to remove insects (ants).
They were all over our desk and in the floor. We will have to be careful not to bring them home with us.
Nice view and beautiful layout, just some extra care needed.
I am sure it will comeback to normal after the COVID is finished.
