I live in Tucson and stay at the Lodge on the Desert for summer "staycations" fairly regularly, I always have a nice time, but my last visit was somewhat of a let down. I had stayed at the hotel with my mom in July and we had a great time - nice room, excellent service at the bar, pool side... More

Convenient location. Huge room (actually two rooms) which would be great if you were traveling with a family or spending a lot of time at the hotel. Neither of which we were doing. The hotel was basically fine. Not bad, not good. The grounds are nice but compact (not a lot of open space). I did not feel like I... More

This is a lovely property with a good restaurant and polite service. Rooms comfortable. Some shortcomings only one electrical outlet near desk unless you unplug the lamp-not advisable because of limited lighting. No gift shop for sundries. Breakfast buffet okay but limited choices. The beauty of the property and comfort of the rooms offer some compensation, especially if you don't... More

The Lodge looks like a motel because of the high wall around the property and independent rooms with entrance from outside. Our room was on the back, quiet, very big, the tv looked small in comparison, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom for toiletries, the water in the shower came out warm right away. The carpet looked a bit worn out after... More

This is a very old property, which has been wonderfully renovated with all the modern comforts. The room and bathroom were quite large, comfortable, and quiet. The property has a perfect location, centrally located to U of A, downtown, Sabino Canyon, and Sonoran Desert Museum. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were disappointed in the breakfast and water... More

I had a conference at the UofA and found this hotel on-line to spend the night. What a pleasant surprise and a delightful hideaway. We were very impressed with the accommodations. The room was large with a fireplace. The bed and bedding were "dreamy". We ate on the patio in the restaurant. The food was outstanding and the service was... More

Unique hotel with an interesting physical layout (rooms in separate structures). Very spacious and comfortable rooms. A car is needed (which is true for pretty much anywhere in Tucson), but it is close to the University and not far from downtown. It doesn't have all the amenities of some of the resorts on the edge of Tucson, but it has... More

What a beautiful oasis within the city of Tucson! I booked a room here because I needed to take care of some business nearby and don't care for chain motels if I can avoid them. Also, the price was very good and the photos attractive. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. The lodge exceeded my expectations in every way.... More
